No but I question whether God did it. He was out to destroy mankind, not the earth. It does NOT say a height of 15 cubits at its highest point. It says all the mountains that he could see were covered. They could have been a mere 2000 metres high.
It appears to me, you got a big problem... A recommendation from an old man.

Go find a place where there are no others, no noise, no distractions.....Get on your knees and talk to GOD with all the seriousness and humbleness you can muster.!

you have a funny ideal of revelation. God revealed His word through men's minds. Each wrote from his own perspective. God inspired them He did not dictate to them. Your God is too limited. It is because it was written from the perspective of men that we have the different, though not contradictory, ideas.

lol you quoted a translation. But it was not a literal translation,
No, scripture was not revealed THROUGH the mind of man but TO the mind of man. Both Paul and Peter was very clear about Paul confirms that, "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness." Peter tells us that,"no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God." Both of these facts removes man completely from the equation.

we both agree on that. It is your interpretation of it that I query? :)

but it is the work of both God and man it is not blind dictation
Then we do not agree at all. Man is not a contributor to revelation.

Gen 7:20 "The water prevailed fifteen cubits higher, and the mountains were covered."

again i tell you that something that rotates can not find its level... That what you said or implied that the flood found its level
Of course it can. The fact that this is the way water continues to behave is proof of that. This is possible because of gravitation. The earth rotates at a speed of 1037 miles/hr and water continues to always seek its own level.

I dont understand your post as it looks like your confused as to how it happend i was just throwing more ideas into the pan.. i think personaly for a flood to occure of that magnitude the earth has to stop rotating and then the water will rise from inside the earth is millions of under ground caves and water valleys not to mention the ground water
A. The land mass was one continent
B. There was a canopy of water ABOVE the earth ( the earth was like a terrarium)
C. The fountains of the deep opened
D. The windows of heaven were opened
E. The mountains were not as high as they are today but rose when the land "EARTH" was divided into 7 continents in the days of EARTHQUAKE (PELEG)<---after the flood
F. God has set boundaries that the water cannot pass (shores) and the current rotation of the earth keeps the water at bay
G. If I remember right the water level is actually higher than it appears and if let lose would flood most of the land masses....

G<---that is if I remember right.....a 50/50 on that one.....but the rest is solid!

Funny thing....I live in Missouri....was reading and posting on this thread about the flood and it was pouring rain outside and dropped so much rain in just 30 minutes that when I looked up I had 2 inches of water pouring in my front door (a buddy accidently had blocked the area that drains the water with a pile of wood).....I spent 1.5 hours cleaning up 2 inches of water in my whole kitchen....HAHAH WOW.....what are the odds.......!

Yeah I had to repent from a few nouns, verbs, adverbs and adjectives during the process ;) .........thank God for mercy!

yeah they would have been covered if the earth was turned upside down all the water from the top washed everthing to the bottom,,
The concept of gravity escapes you, I think...

Are you being deliberately obtuse? Oldhermit told you to pour out water and see what it does.... a hint.... the earth is rotating RIGHT NOW... so, in YOUR world, all the water should spin out in the opposite direction that the earth is rotating?

Have you ever used a water level? Water seeks its own level... it doesn't go against the rotation of the earth... the rotation of the earth is what MAKES it seek it's own level... gravity...

To quote Billy Bob Thornton in "Tombstone".... "it's like playing cards with my sister's kids...."

We all know this story of the old testiment. How God flooded the world, and the only people saved where two of each species of animals and Noah and his family.
After doing a little research, i discovered somthing disturbing.
We know of the other ancient civilizations of that time. And there have been written records kept and written during that time that the flood was supposed to happen. And none of them mentioned being drowned by water or anything regarding a flood.
By this, people conclude that the flood never happened.

Now, lol, Im not saying that I beleive this but I want to know what you all think.

Oh and please dont get too heated. The threads next door can hear ya you know :)

just believe. scientific reports also say we evolved through mutation from mud to tadpols, to frog, eventually monkey into man.......there is alot of design in the world to whisper " Did God really say that?" and then offer an alternative to believe.

When we simply believe Gods Word, we are believing the Right One.

After such a cataclysmic event you propose (world wide flood) the life would not recover, no plants etc, everything would have to evolve from the beginning. But according to the Bible, known plants were growing very quickly after the Flood.

It would be also impossible for a land to "dry out" so quickly. What would animals and Noah eat after the Flood? Each other?
The land had six months to dry out. They landed in the seventh month. And they were on a mountain, where water goes downhill.

were the Euphrates and the Tigris in Detroit?
Hey, I grew up in Jersey -- named after an island from the UK. People name places after places they used to live.

I dont think God would have punished cain if cain never knew it was a sin..

Remember what he did for moses when moses commited murder. it was the same thing moses murdered a guy with a rock.
God must have seen favor in moses or did moses repent ?..
Exactly. We don't need laws to tell us murder is wrong. That's why Cain gave a cop out instead of just said he killed his brother.

It was recorded in the Bible. It must of been many years since Noah before regular people wrote things down. And whether they wrote that down or not, or whether we find such writings or not, does not matter to me. I know it happened. "Let every man be a liar and God be right."

I think its fair to mention that some of our acient scripts found has got missing text ie faded away...

No i guess you could say iif they did find older text scripts theres a fat chance that it wouldnt be allowed anyway so your right i guess we will never know untill we meet our creator... but maybe i do and maybe hes just revealed it to me ?
Actually the scholars love the oldest text. It lowers the possibility of typos and booboos.
