Would someone describe what they mean by porn? Are we speaking of a picture of a well built woman or something else? One cannot turn on a TV or drive down town without seeing pictures of attractive women, is that a form of porn? Or are we speaking of some woman in her birthday suit bending over to pick up something that is not there?
Since sex appeal is everywhere and a cruel standard for women as well as men to strive for when it will not bring them happiness; as character is above intellect; so is character above beauty.
Like it or not, christians are being persecuted passively in America and we need our guards up while we rely on Jesus Christ as our Good Shepherd to walk us through this valley of death...because...
1 Peter 2:[SUP]15 [/SUP]Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.[SUP]16 [/SUP]For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.[SUP]17 [/SUP]And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
So let us trust Jesus Christ to help us not feed the dog in us; the old nature of sin. When we play with desires in our hearts and it gets burning...then we need Jesus to help see the escape for us to get our minds & sights on other worthy things, and trust him to help us not play with those desires again.
James 1:[SUP]12 [/SUP]Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.[SUP]13 [/SUP]Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:[SUP]14 [/SUP]But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.[SUP]15 [/SUP]Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.[SUP]16 [/SUP]Do not err, my beloved brethren.
1 Corinthians 10:[SUP]12 [/SUP]Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.[SUP]13 [/SUP]There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Romans 13:[SUP]13[/SUP]
Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and
wantonness, not in strife and envying.[SUP]14 [/SUP]
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
Luke 11:[SUP]33 [/SUP]No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.[SUP]34 [/SUP]The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.[SUP]35 [/SUP]Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.
2 Peter 2:14Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
So where our eye is, there is where our heart shall dwell on. Remember that Jesus died for sins such as these. Indeed, do we yield our eyes to sin by lusting after and approving the pride of life for the outward appearance as set by society's standard, or do we lean on Christ to love one another & not lust in spite of the outward appearances? Since the eye is a member of our body, let us lean on him to not yield it as an instrument to sin.
Romans 6:[SUP]12 [/SUP]Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.[SUP]13 [/SUP]Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.[SUP]14 [/SUP]For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
