For The Word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow,
and is a Discerned of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Its so powerful it will devided brother against brother. then the word sets in for the one devided :)

I dont think it is a diffrent story i think your right to say its time to fight back when defenceless people are being oppressed.

Who are the defenceless in here tho.

I would say where all defenceless in here when we get attacked in here because the people who are doing the attacking are hiding behind a computer which makes us defenceless.. You cant fight that which is invisable make us all defenceless.
We are not defenseless on here. We have the ability to report and ignore.

An easy answer: we never fight back. We never answer evil for evil. The one who lives by the sword will die by the sword.

Of course, if you want to give 'fight' a positive definition, you can change the answer. I interpreted the poll as when/if is it OK to get angry and fight back with words or with my fists. I do not think that righteous anger 'fights back'. It overcomes evil with good.
When evil tries to blow up a Jewish center and your answer is to hug them until they surrender then we are in serious trouble.

[h=1]Luke 22:35-38Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)[/h][h=3]Be Ready for Trouble[/h][FONT=&quot]35 He also said to them, “When I sent you out without money-bag, traveling bag, or sandals, did you lack anything?”[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]“Not a thing,” they said.[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]36 Then He said to them, “But now, whoever has a money-bag should take it, and also a traveling bag. And whoever doesn’t have a sword should sell his robe and buy one. 37 For I tell you, what is written must be fulfilled in Me: And He was counted among the outlaws.[a] Yes, what is written about Me is coming to its fulfillment.”[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]38 “Lord,” they said, “look, here are two swords.”[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]“Enough of that!”[b] He told them.

We protect the sanctity of life and the life of our own from evil.

[/FONT]

[h=1]Romans 13:4Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)[/h][FONT=&quot]4 For government is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, because it does not carry the sword for no reason. For government is God’s servant, an avenger that brings wrath on the one who does wrong.

In order to keep the peace we are instructed our government should protect its people and its people should be able to protect their self or innocent people near them.

But just as Jesus says," Enough of that."

In most cases violence is never the answer but when innocence is about to be slain I would see it as a sin to sit back and do nothing.[/FONT]

Proverbs 13:10 (New English Bible) "A brainless fool causes strife by his presumption."

. Ecclesiastes 3:8 "There is a time for war and a time for peace."

Fighting in a war in serving our government who bears the sword not in vain to deter evil is not a sin.

Romans 13:1
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.[SUP]2 [/SUP]Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.[SUP]3 [/SUP]For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:[SUP]4 [/SUP]For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.[SUP]5 [/SUP]Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

Acting outside of war in killing someone out of anger or hatred is a sin.

I am sure a lot of people will bring up situations to rebuttal this but read His words first to see if Jesus leaves any room for rebuttals.

So while you read His words, ask what would Jesus have you do with His help?

Matthew 5:[SUP]38 [/SUP]Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:[SUP]39 [/SUP]But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.........
[SUP]43 [/SUP]Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.[SUP]44 [/SUP]But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;[SUP]45 [/SUP]That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.[SUP]46 [/SUP]For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?[SUP]47 [/SUP]And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?[SUP]48 [/SUP]Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Jesus has set the example of longsuffering for us to serve as a pattern for those that would come to believe in Him, even the worst of all sinners.

1 Peter 2:
[SUP]19 [/SUP]For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.[SUP]20 [/SUP]For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.[SUP]21 [/SUP]For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:[SUP]22 [/SUP]Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:[SUP]23 [/SUP]Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:[SUP]24 [/SUP]Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.[SUP]25 [/SUP]For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

1 Timothy 1:
[SUP]14 [/SUP]And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.[SUP]15 [/SUP]This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.[SUP]16 [/SUP]Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

If you have knowledge of someone planning to kill people for whatever the reason, call the authorities now. If you cannot talk the others down by His words in the hopes that Jesus will deliver them from the devil having a grip on their anger, then call for help for that person or those people.

Ephesians 4:
[SUP]25 [/SUP]Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.[SUP]26 [/SUP]Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:[SUP]27 [/SUP]Neither give place to the devil.[SUP]28 [/SUP]Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.[SUP]29 [/SUP]Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.[SUP]30 [/SUP]And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.[SUP]31 [/SUP]Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:[SUP]32 [/SUP]And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

May all those who are angry enough to kill, pray to Jesus Christ now for help & He will deliver you.

Romans 12:
[SUP]18 [/SUP]If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.[SUP]19 [/SUP]Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.[SUP]20 [/SUP]Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.[SUP]21 [/SUP]Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Every box on the poll could be checked, depending on how you define 'fight.' If we limit this to the question of Chrsitians going to war, the answer was clear to the Christians of the first few centuries. https://christianpacifismblog.wordpress.com/2016/12/01/early-christian-quotes/ We in America have become very atuned to the spirit of our times. A sermon on Romans, "overcome evil with good" was a major turning point in my life when I was a Marine. https://spurgeonwarquotes.wordpress.com/2013/04/02/living-our-resurrection-faith-following-our-king/

I understand this context of the quote, but I reserv e going beyond determining it is correct. That is I detrmine it prob ably is correct, BUT, LIKE mARY WOULD DO WHEN SHE DID NOT quite understand, I will keep it in myheart rather than to make any conclusions.

No matter, I do not believe ay who believe "Tha Salvation of Yahweh, that is, Jesus Christ, are prone to killing for any reason...... A good example of not fighting or defending himself would be Stephen, but there are so many since who were of the same faith.

Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Romans 12:19

Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.” Isaiah 35:4

To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, Isaiah 61:2

But, O Lord of hosts, You who judge righteously, Testing the mind and the heart, Let me see Your vengeance on them, For to You I have revealed my cause. Jeremiah 11:20

For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” Hebrews 10:30

I wonder about this scripture. was it God inspired or the request of someone filled with vengence ? im a bit mythed as to why he would want to see Gods wrath.

I think for some people they think That God is are chief exercutioner. But sadley on the contrary he takes no glory from seeing someone in hell i think you might find he even goes down into hades and sets them free.
1 Peter 3:19-20English Standard Version (ESV)

[SUP]19 [/SUP]in which[SUP][a][/SUP] he went and proclaimed[SUP][b][/SUP] to the spirits in prison, [SUP]20 [/SUP]because[SUP][c][/SUP] they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water.

From here its clear i just wonder what is God inspired and what is not.

We are called to be good brothers to its not about battling or showing wrath its a bout doing the duty of the lord in fighting for just about everything from bad doctrins to battling scum arse satan for Gods children and could be Gods child...

In a nut shel if thats not woth fighting for i dont know what is. but even tho i talk about war and soldiers I strongly believe that any descent soldier willl tell you the only blood shed we shed is on the field.. after that we are like any loving christian who loves God and abides in God.

A timeline of the history behind Paul's teaching in Romans 12 and 13 helps us see it more clearly.

rrrr atlas The reasons of war..

What many reason there are its a battle to survive but we have spirit and friends to see us through.

The bigest cause to war is Greed and of course satanism.. we have had evil dictatorships now for so long.. i say its high time we make a stand and vote for a true christian to be in charge of our countries...

He tells his deciples to buy a sword because they where about to embark on travels that would take them down paths where robbers and wild animals could be. Jesus speaks on this only a little bit to tell us it's okay to defend ourselves. And this is why Jesus rebuked Peter for cutting the soldiers ear off to also teach us that is not the use of carrying a sword for a Christian to attack the innocent. Judges 14:5-6New International Version (NIV)

5 Samson went down to Timnah together with his father and mother. As they approached the vineyards of Timnah, suddenly a young lion came roaring toward him. 6 The Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon him so that he tore the lion apart with his bare hands as he might have torn a young goat. But he told neither his father nor his mother what he had done.

These roads were dangerous to travelers If the Spirit had not been with Sampson he would of been eaten.

But some Christians believe if there beatin and a man is about to rape his wife then probably kill both of you. They believe we are told to love them and die without a fight.

God also gave us common sense and if everything in your heart and mind is telling you to defend your wife and your life well that's probably the Holy Spirit telling to move.

Once you die and go to heaven and ask God why didn't you help and God will say well I told you to attack but you didn't listen but so happy your home.

Why do most of us not really read....." one who lives by the sword DIES by the sword?"

What right minded, loving Christian LIVES by the sword? None.

But a wrong minded, criminal who LIVES by the sword will DIE by the sword of those who don't live by the sword.

Simple. If one wants to live by the sword(a criminal) they will die by the sword ( justice/law abiding citizens/God fearing people)
