All that helps is love and honesty? This is just generic cop out and more Christianese. You have the style part down pat Peter. Now if you can inject some substance into it you'll be a more complete disciple of Jesus.
I feel like I am in an episode of Dr. Phil. I feel all dirty, and need a shower.

Man. In another thread we got people saying God is a Marxist. In this one we got people advocating for sinless perfection. Gee whiz man. I had to apologize to my kid just yesterday cuz I sinned against him. Life happens and this all sounds like some alternate universe that looks good on paper.

The verse you posted is in the context of the tribulation. And it's physical salvation, not eternal life.

Acts 16:31. It is the only thing that is possible for you to hear at this time. But obviously you got a LOT of religion, so the Holy Spirit has His work cut out for Him:cool:

Showed him this yesterday and he rejected it.....context alludes quite a few people it seems....

Especially when the definition of hope in the N.T. is the assurance of something guaranteed.....instead they use the word hope like one who just bought a lotto ticket in the Mega Millions lottery and HOPE they win.......
ha nice picture your painting there of someone speaking Gods word instructing you and commanding you to put on the helmet of hope for salvation.. well said mate give your self a pat on the back,,,(not).

Sirk - "cop out" "the style" - So I am guilty for suicides. It is too high standards
that create depression and a sense of failure. Is that your story line?

Children fail to walk because the parents expect them to learn at age 2.
Or children fail to walk because something is seriously wrong and they need
special help.

People are sinners because they refuse communion with God.
Love is Gods heart, shown through the cross. There is no other cure for
mans disease. This is the gospel. It is not a cop-out, it is what we believe
and follow.

Did you miss this part on the repentance, confession and follow spiritual lesson?

i missed nothing. I just know real life. It's pressures and stresses and people. I know that some days are a struggle. Some days are a breeze. We get tired and hungry. We're human and we fail.

You set standards even you can't live up to yet expect others too.

Kind of like the Lawyers, Scribes and Pharisees that Jesus rebuked......

11 And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
12 He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.

You know...Jesus was most impressed with those who humbled themselves and stated their unworthiness...like the Roman soldier who said I am unworthy for you to even come under my roof and or the woman who said even the dogs lick from the crumbs that fall from the master's table....

Self righteous and sinless Pharisee-ism was abhorred by Jesus and rebuked by Jesus...He came for those who need a Physician and those who recognize their weak, fallen, sinful state.

People killing themselves if often about hopelessness and depression.
All I have ever seen help this is love and honesty.

The world is full of uncaring sinners hurting and destroying others.
Saying those who walk in Jesus's ways are guilty of this is absurd.

Often in families lack of emotional openness and honesty causes deep pain
and rejection. One step along this path, is people sharing who and what
they are. This only works in the framework of the cross and forgiveness.

Now I know this works, because in my little family we are very open and
honest, loving and caring. But it is not easy, but there is real life here in
the Lord.

As an ex-depressive from an emotionally closed hidden family with serious
mental problems I know the other side of the coin first hand.

And I know in Christ there is love and healing, but we need to open the door
and ask Him in.
I am not generalising here but I do think there can be a tendency within the Church to dismiss mental health issues and the reasons why and the consequences.

Some Christians say "Go to your doctor and get anti-depressants, some say bible says now go do"
When I say bible says now go do they quote bible verses along the lines of you lack faith, trust God etc.

Anti-depressants just mask the problem and now go do just add to the problem.

Mental health issues today are real, they affect people, they react in ways that are not rational. This is the same for Christians and non Christians.

We need a place in the church where those suffering can come to and feel safe, loved and accepted. We need the wisdom of God in how to deal with them.

Pills don't worn, bible says now go don't work.

Jesus works, when people meet Jesus and know there is hope in his name, acceptance as they are, forgiveness and knowing that Jesus is in the pit they are in but will help them out of it, he understands it.

"My God my God why have you foresaken me" "Father please let this cup pass me by"

A man in turmoil and emotions troubled.

Yep God has given us eternal life to which some souls may spend an eternity in chains..a bit like scrooge mcdude...unless he repents of his mean behavior of saying stuff like humbugs lol...

I know that salvation can mean being saved i know that... so what is your point because it feals like your declaring your eternal life has allready been declared... now wheres your mercy will you answer this truth.

It's interesting to watch.I haven't really ever seen someone take this much liberty with His word before.

I would not be surprised if the next verse he posts, he will try to convince us its a recipe for wheat bread.

I didn't say a word. That was just pure unadulterated scripture.

It sure seems that it is declaring that we HAVE eternal life RIGHT NOW doesn't it?
