I can offer an analogy if you'd like? I am not sure if it truly does God justice, but hey, its something.
Consider the sun. One might say that God the Father is the matter/substance that makes up the sun, then Jesus is the light that emanates from that matter, and the Holy Spirit is the heat/power from the sun. All three are present, and yet one. The matter, the light, and the power. All distinct in their respective roles, and yet one.
We in our finite minds are trying to make sense of the Trinity. To us it very well may be a mystery, but have faith. You can have a relationship with God, you can hear His voice, and communicate with God. This isn't some one way conversation. He is alive, and as a believer, He is with you always. Speak to Him, and also listen. Especially listen.

Mat_19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
This is plainly teaching us that the HUSBAND AND WIFE, are NOT TWO, but they are ONE. Clearly a unity thing here. Hence the reason the statement came about the "the better HALF" Husband (man, male) + Wife (woman, female)= ONE FLESH.
Understand that, and you can begin to understand the Trinity.
Know you not that we are ONE with them?
Joh_17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
Scriptures interprets Scriptures. The Father and Son are ONE, and we, that is to say, YOU and i can be ONE with them. We can be ONE with them even as the Father and Son are ONE, this should easily explain the meaning and mystery of the Trinity.
For me personally i do not understand all the confusion when it comes to the topic of the Trinity. To me is seems pretty cut and dry. SIMPLE even.
