Hey everyone,

Every now and then we like to joke here in Singles about things such as an old-fashioned dowry, in which the groom gives the bride's family a gift in exchange for her hand in marriage.

Just for fun, what things would win YOUR family over and convince them to happily marry you off?

I can tell you right now that a goat or a chicken would not impress my Dad at all.

However... If you gave him a state-of-the-art golf club, I might be in some trouble.

And if you were to give him an entire SET of brand-new clubs, that would pretty much guarantee I'd need to start packing (and I don't even live with my parents!)

What about you? What kind of dowry/payment would have your family sending you down the aisle faster than you can say, "I do!"?

This is meant to be a fun, lighthearted thread that everyone can answer... Guys and girls... married and single. For our married friends... What do you know you could have given your spouse's family, or what could they have given yours, ir order to hurry the process along?

(And by the way, no exchanges or refunds! :p)

Happy posting! :D

Even nothing. My family is very willing to send me out! ASAP!:D (It's a joke but slightly true.)

I bought my father in law a case of beer the 1st time I visited while dating.....does that count?

A prospective husband would have to give me a written guarantee he would never send her back to us.

For her mother i'd give jewelry & father one of the new iphones. I'm not old fashioned but it would be pretty funny to give her parents a bucket of KFC for her hand in marriage.

That was when I get back to circles again, after a relapse, but lose the job again, for not changing my data.

This is my best picture because I want my best. If people wants me to post my ugliest picture in here... I can!

There is only one thing I can think of that he'd really love..... hmmm... an electric guitar!!!!yeah my tatay(fatther) loves to play guitar! My father will going to love you to the moon and back :D and would not mind sending me fast to you :D :D :D

and hey! He said one or two roosters would be great too :D

I am participating here to correct my thoughts. And I am not bringing my church, but my faith.

Seoulsearch sister... I apologize my post is not related to your thread... thanks.

I'm just perusing the thread looking for the most economical offer....

and something with a warranty.

In my family there is a running joke that my uncle gave my grandmother a mule and two donkeys for my aunt's hand in marriage.

As for what my family would take, nothing. In my family you become a part of our family. We never lose anybody to some other family.

My mom would take quilting supplies, step dad would take a beer or two, brothers would hit u up for babysitting so they could get out of the house and if you had a few dollars for the date night they would hog tie me up
and deliver me!
