We tend to beat a lot of phrases to death. One of those is "THROUGH Jesus Christ."

Just what does that mean? How did YOU (anyone) go THROUGH Christ? I did no more than believe that trusting in Him would somehow restore me to God.

i'm a bit perplexed. this sounds more like The Shack than The Bible.

Christianity doesn't have to be about 'religious practices' but being in Covenant with God does have to include Christ.
otherwise, why did He come at all?

because that is where it comes from

I feel compelled to fight against it.... There is only one way to God and that is though the LORD Jesus Christ.. That OP sounds way to ecumenical and one world relgion-ish for my liking...

don't fall for it

the word 'compelled' was chosen to create a reaction.

and there is only one way and that one way is THROUGH the Lord Jesus Christ

tough

that is what the Bible states

the shack is a work of fiction created by someone who apparently did not to his homework

Do not be ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God to save

meaning the shack is fiction and should be used in a bonfire just like the magicians tossing their books on the fire in Acts

let me help you out here. Jesus said it Himself

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

John 14:6

that means we must follow the guidebook, which happens to be the Bible, not a work of fiction created by someone who has left the path and created another religion, albeit fiction, which he is more than happy to point to anytime someone questions his female god, slinky spirit and laid back hippie Jesus

so choose carefully who you will follow this day

Have I said anything different? Did Jesus ever say we had to do anything more than believe on Him?
Those who love Jesus love His Word.. His Gospel message.. They believe Him.. Therefore they do not remain as Buddhists or mormons or muslims.. They renounce their false religions and forsake all to believe in His Gospel truth. Islam is anti-christ and no anti-christ who rejects the gospel and clings onto the islamic anti-chirst doctrine will ever have eternity with God..

So yes we must believe Jesus and trust in the atonement He secured for our salvation on the cross.. islam declares that Jesus did not die on the cross and that Jesus does not bear the burden of our sins.. They also reject Him as the Son of God declaring that as shirk ( blasphemy ) worthy of being stoned to death for believing..

Interesting...... since the Bible wasn't even in existence when Jesus said that. Yet we try to make Him say that in order to have a relationship with Jesus, a guidebook is required.

It sounds like you are talking about Romans 1:20, is that correct?

And, are you saying that if a person has no copy of the printed Bible, they cannot have a relationship with Jesus? Did Christ initiate the institution we call Christianity and a book to have to read in order to have a relationship with Him? This is a serious question because it seems that view would exclude billions of people who have lived and died, and will, live and die without ever even hearing the word "Jesus" pronounced.
The government may ban bibles. They may confiscate them from houses. But the government cannot touch the heart of believers, of Christians wherein the LORD lives and abides. They can take the bible out of the hand, but they can't take Jesus out of the heart. (Kinda corny, I know.)
God, not people, sees the unseen. He sees what is in the heart of those who have not heard or learned about Jesus.
The bible is the inspired word of God. Those who believe that to be true can do nothing but appeal to the bible as the answer to your question. Jesus affirmed the scriptures testify of Him.
Thank you.

Partially, yes. But I think it goes even beyond that. I think Jesus can and does give people of all races and Religions "Aha! moments" that have nothing to do with nature around us. It is strictly inside us.

Ok ,but you said someone doesn't need to become a Christian. The Bible is an integral part of the Christian life. I can't say there never has been a person in history that got saved and didn't get a chance to read the Bible but that doesn't take the importance away from the Word. In the OP are you saying some can stay in the Islamic faith and still go to heaven?

Did Jesus tell us to join a specific organization (and "Christianity" is little else) or did He simply say to believe in the "Him" you feel in your soul? If they know no other religion but the one they were raised in, what do you suggest they do when their worship time comes around? Refuse to have anything to do with it?

Do not confuse Christianity with that misnomer "Christian religion". They are not one and the same. Christianity is not a religion, it is the announcement of the end of religion. Which is why any appeal to any religion will never do the trick. Christianity is Christ. And I trust that He is more than able to direct those who have received Him in the way they should go.

Do we receive Christ by believing in a "feeling"? Or by hearing the gospel and responding in faith?

Maybe you did it all by head knowledge, but I FELT Jesus very vividly in my soul, and responded to that.

For myself I responded to the message of the gospel, and then there was great emotion when Jesus came into my heart.

Who's to say then that the god another feels in their soul, who may be nothing like the god you are feeling, is any less legitimate than your own?? Some people feel in their souls a god who tells them it is okay to rape little boys and cut off the heads of any who disagree with them. And who are you to disagree with what they feel to be god in their souls?

"Feelings" are a wobbly peg indeed to hang your hat on.

Even mired as you are in your need for legalism know better than that kind of foolish "reasoning."

My need for legalism? You know me better than that.

Here's some more foolish reasoning for you. There's no need to throw the baby out with the bathwater. I'm sorry you think Christianity is merely an organization, and that "Christian" is somehow a bad word. I disagree. I believe that what we are is Christians, and as Christians we are part of the organism we call Christianity….which is the Church, the body of Christ.

And I am not about to give up what identifies me with Christ, as being one of His, just because some don’t understand what being a Christian means.
