Well, leseee.... You have already said you don't want our opinions... you don't want to hear what the Bible says... you don't want... you don't want... and you don't want. So, I am thinking that you really do want all of that, but you just don't know how to admit it.

That's really not unusual. Don't sweat it. We aren't that easy to run off. We'll still be here when you come around a little. (Might even hug ya.)

Well, waste your time if you want. It's yours to do as you wish. I'm certainly not going to be kicking bushes looking for you. It's better for both of us if I just don't see you anymore.

I corrected your thinking that is contrary to the word of God. This is a CHRISTIAN SITE. If the bible offends you,you have got real problems.
Maybe you should look for people that will agree with you when you are wrong and stroke your insecurities so you stay in bondage. It seems you are judging me and others because of your past experiences. I sense alot of anger in you and you have a smart mouth . I know I was only trying to help and you bit my head off! Im done here.
Well, bye. Don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split you.

Not good enough.

Matthew 5

14You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.
15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Ultimately it's your prerogative if you wish to lock yourself away from everyone and everything outside your home, but you do yourself a great disservice. Social anxiety does not have to be a jail sentence if you're willing to make some effort

Thank you for your input.

That's really kind of a joke. Are you willing to send me $10 every time you take me off "IGNORE" to sneak a peep at what I wrote? (I'll be able to buy a new computer within a year. LOL )

If a person lived in a remote area of the world or something like that and still wanted to have some form of worship, would it then be more agreeable to have their services on-line or even through say the AM radio band? I do hear what some people are saying about my needing to get out, but I will just say this - imagine if every time you go into a crowd you got so nervous you were afraid you'd mess your pants - how would that influence your feelings about other people. Have you ever pooped yourself in a large crowd because of your nervousness? As an adult?

I push, but I'm not willing to see your side of the argument unless you're willing to see mine. I don't just roll over and say you're right because you think I should or because you dig up some verse. Use your own words and explain to me like an educated and rational human being why my position is so incorrect.

Now that a couple people's posts can't be seen by me, maybe this thread has a chance of getting back on track and I can get an answer to my inquiry.

I should have prefaced my response with - I myself am 'not good enough'. Far from it.

My question to you, Shpadoinkle, is - is it your aspiration to be able to participate in a congregation or any kind of group or team, if you could separate the anxiety and fear, is it something that you want?

Honestly, no. I just wish I could go to church without having to listen to the preacher while I am in the bathroom. As far as people go, I wish you all would get raptured so I could have the planet to myself, but I don't believe in a pre-trib rapture (and I hear people rustling their Bibles to quote scripture out of context to prove their Luciferian/Catholic/Jesuit/Scofield 1830's beliefs) - save it. I won't be a member here long enough for you to waste your time. Save that crap for somebody else. However, no, I don't care to be around people. I'd just like to be able to go out to church without fear.

You didn't read my post right. I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I am a Christian. I still don't believe that guarantees me a place in Heaven. I think a LOT of Christians are going to Hell when the Judgment comes. A whole lot. I might be one of them.
During Jesus time, the jewish teachers of the laws, the pharasees also claimed that they are very familar with God's law but the funny thing is they don't believe in Jesus Christ:p

I don't know if Misc. is the right place for this topic, but it don't seem to fit anywhere else.

I like the idea of church, but I don't like going to church. I don't like being trapped in a room with a bunch of other people, and it irritates me when someone brings a baby to church and it gets all fussy and stuff. I'd like to just avoid it altogether if I could. Since I don't like the atmosphere of church, I haven't been going. I've been doing really good about reading my Bible and praying and I watch a lot of documentaries, but I know I'm missing out on something by not going to church.

Which gets me to thinking and to ask, what do you think about online church services? Say, like a webcast of a service? Do you think that would provide the nourishment for the soul or is it not good enough?

Sorry for the weird question. People just scare me and I don't like being around them so I keep my distance. I just don't know who I can trust in the world.
Brother, you're definitely going to be in a serious world of hurt if you happen to end up in Heaven. I don't think they have "online worship" there.

You do realize, don't you, that sitting in the bathroom, listening to the preacher is the very same thing as sitting anywhere, listening to a radio broadcast?

It sounds more like you are saying you don't want to listen to anyone, anywhere talking about the word of God.

Ha ha! I can actually identify with that a little bit. But I don't stay home. I go and I sit in the front pew. Nobody ever wants to sit in the front pew. Sometimes it's just me, my son, and another older gentleman in that front pew. I have the best seat in the house! All the distractions of crying babies and whispering teenagers are behind me. I just tune them out. Give it a try some time. :)

No. I think God wants us to experience family, in an assembly of believers. There are so many intangible benefits to fellowship... but there are also the tangible ones. Being with other brothers and sisters who are experiencing the same ups and downs that we are, struggling with the same temptations, and facing the same obstacles.

Remember, we are each one necessary parts of the body... Christ's church.... from 1 Corinthians 12..

[SUP]14 [/SUP]For the body is not one member, but many. [SUP]15 [/SUP]If the foot says, “Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body,” it is not for this reason [SUP][k][/SUP]any the less a part of the body. [SUP]16 [/SUP]And if the ear says, “Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body,” it is not for this reason [SUP][l][/SUP]any the less a part of the body. [SUP]17 [/SUP]If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be? [SUP]18 [/SUP]But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired. [SUP]19 [/SUP]If they were all one member, where would the body be? [SUP]20 [/SUP]But now there are many members, but one body. [SUP]21 [/SUP]And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; or again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” [SUP]22 [/SUP]On the contrary, [SUP][m][/SUP]it is much truer that the members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary; [SUP]23 [/SUP]and those members of the body which we [SUP][n][/SUP]deem less honorable, [SUP][o][/SUP]on these we bestow more abundant honor, and our less presentable members become much more presentable, [SUP]24 [/SUP]whereas our more presentable members have no need of it. But God has so composed the body, giving more abundant honor to that member which lacked, [SUP]25 [/SUP]so that there may be no [SUP][p][/SUP]division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. [SUP]26 [/SUP]And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is [SUP][q][/SUP]honored, all the members rejoice with it.

With that kind of attitude and response, you are probably correct about your tenure here... which would be a shame..

If you are truly agoraphobic, you should ask some of the church leaders if there is a private room you can go to, to listen to the preaching.... heck, go to the bathroom..

Oh, wait, you said you wanted to be able to get AWAY from the preaching... but then you say you want to be able to go to church.. for what reason? If you don't want to be around people, and you don't want to listen to the preacher, what possible reason could you have for wanting to go to church?

I'm more than a little confused....

Im exactly like the OP ,I just don't like being among others and not just in church,I think that online services are brilliant not just services but forums like this one and apps are a God send for those that want to learn about God and His advice,if it wasn't for the internet I wouldn't be as far along in my religious education as im am,I probably would have never started trying to learn in the first place.

I really enjoy app's also they have the entire Bible recorded so that all you have to do is listen to it,If they had one telling the Bible scripture but in modern practical terms that would be great for me because I just can't understand the terminology that the Bible uses,it's like poetry to me,I probably have a undiagnosed learning disorder so that probably has something to do with it.

Also I wouldn't let anonymous people decide what I do in life or my methods of education.
