Hebrews 5:7-9,13-14 During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, HE OFFERED UP PRAYERS AND PETITIONS with loud cries and tears to the one who could SAVE HIM from death, and he was heard because of his REVERENT SUBMISSION. Although he was a son, he learned OBEDIENCE from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of ETERNAL SALVATION FOR ALL WHO OBEY HIM Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who BY CONSTANT USE HAVE TRAINED THEMSELVES TO DISTINGUISH GOOD FROM EVIL.
Hebrews 6:9-12,17-19 Even though we speak like this, dear friends, we are confident of better things in your case—things that accompany salvation. God is not unjust; HE WILL NOT FORGET YOUR WORK AND the LOVE you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. We want each of you TO SHOW THIS SAME DILIGENCE TO THE VERY END, IN ORDER TO MAKE YOUR HOPE SURE. We do not want you to become LAZY, but to imitate those who through FAITH AND PATIENCE inherit what has been promised. Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his PURPOSE very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD TO LIE, we who have fled to TAKE HOLD OF THE HOPE OFFERED to us may be greatly ENCOURAGED. We have this HOPE as an ANCHOR for the soul, FIRM AND SECURE. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,
Hebrews 7:24-26 but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore HE IS ABLE TO SAVE COMPLETELY those who come to God through him, because he always lives TO INTERCEDE FOR THEM. Such a high priest meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.
Hebrews 9:14-15,26-28 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may SERVE the living God! For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are CALLED may receive the promised ETERNAL INHERITANCE—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the SINS COMMITTED UNDER THE FIRST COVENANT. Then Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But now he has appeared ONCE FOR ALL at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself. Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to FACE JUDGMENT, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to BRING SALVATION to those who are WAITING for him.
Ephesians 4:11-16 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers TO PREPARE GOD’S PEOPLE FOR WORKS OF SERVICE, so that the BODY OF CHRIST may be built up until we all reach unity in the FAITH AND in the KNOWLEDGE of the Son of God and become MATURE, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the CUNNING AND CRAFTINESS OF MEN IN THEIR DECEIPTFUL SCHEMING. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, AS EACH PART DOES ITS WORK.
Revelation 7:13-17 Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?” I answered, “Sir, you know.” And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore, “they are before the throne of God and SERVE HIM day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them. Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
