what is the purpose of the cross. If you could be sinless perfect to the point you meet Gods righteousness. What is the reason for the cross.?
We grow. Because we KNOW Gods unfailing love and grace. Not because we become sinless perfect.
This is the purpose of the cross...
Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Heb 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Heb 9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
Heb 9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
Heb 9:18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
Heb 9:19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
Heb 9:20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
The purpose of the blood of Jesus is to "purge the conscience from dead works" that one may serve the living God.
It is FOR THAT CAUSE that Jesus is the mediator of the New Testament.
it is by the means of the death of Jesus, for the transgressions that were under the Old Covenant, that those whom are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Under the Old Covenant one could not be perfect as it pertained to the conscience.
Heb_9:9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
There always still remained a consciousness of sins upon the conscience, despite the sin offerings...
Heb_10:2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
The New Covenant is better than the Old because it does this...
Heb 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
Babylon Christianity does not teach the above. They just ignore it. They don't teach ANYTHING about Jesus dying for the cause of "purging the conscience of dead works." That teaching has been completely eliminated.
The reason Jesus died was to establish a New Covenant which we could be enjoined to by the blood whereby the God puts His laws upon our heart and into our minds.
That simple fact is denied in Babylon because they argue in favour of ongoing wickedness and thus deny a heart which has had the love of God shed upon it. The love of God will never produce wickedness, it simply cannot.
What is going on in Babylon is a complete denial of redemption and salvation. Salvation has been redefined to be a COVER for sin because they teach that the "sin debt was paid." Thus with the debt paid no debt can ever be held due again, hence the sin cloak.
Satan's lie of "ye can sin and not surely die" has been repacked for the modern day.
