Whilst you can make up "any context" to force fit your heresy. Romans and James are in perfect harmony.

I could just as easily say you yank out Romans whilst denying James.
Yep about as productive as a cake fight without the joy of eating cake.

More cake here.....the context is clear...one speaks before God the other before men.....ride your works right the proverbial gates....

you must be blind to the phrase SHOW ME YOUR FAITH......and PAUL'S conclusion is clear......

Because the ONLY way to lose your salvation, is by rejecting God and/ or denying that Jesus ever existed. You CANNOT lose salvation by not doing good works. We ARE to do them, yes, BUT not for the sake of keeping salvation...

No it would be helpful if folks explained WHY they believe IN OSAS...

I will read his thread when I have time and come to my own conclusions.

I am stubborn like that.

He seems genuine so far and I have been to churches who hold his doctrine.
YEAH...for sure I would lie to you because that is how I roll..........

you do understand that Romans and James, and other than the Gospels, Acts, and Revelations , all the rest of the N.T. were letters. meant to be read, not chopped up into little pieces.
OK, I will post something here that's not chopped up. Feel free to interpret.

[h=1]Romans 6New King James Version (NKJV)[/h] [h=3]Dead to Sin, Alive to God[/h]6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? [SUP]2 [/SUP]Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? [SUP]3 [/SUP]Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? [SUP]4 [/SUP]Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, [SUP]6 [/SUP]knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. [SUP]7 [/SUP]For he who has died has been freed from sin. [SUP]8 [/SUP]Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, [SUP]9 [/SUP]knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. [SUP]10 [/SUP]For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. [SUP]11 [/SUP]Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. [SUP]13 [/SUP]And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. [SUP]14 [/SUP]For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
[h=3]From Slaves of Sin to Slaves of God[/h][SUP]15 [/SUP]What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! [SUP]16 [/SUP]Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? [SUP]17 [/SUP]But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. [SUP]18 [/SUP]And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. [SUP]19 [/SUP]I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. [SUP]21 [/SUP]What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. [SUP]22 [/SUP]But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. [SUP]23 [/SUP]For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

No need to fear for me PeterJens. Jesus has me covered.

I have tried to warn you of the dangerous path you walk, but you dismiss my warnings as naive.

I will leave it to God and wash my hands of the situation.

Yes I know murder is a SIN and serious. What I don't see is that people understand what Jesus teaches as murder or even adultery.

What I don't see is repentance and a turning to God and His ways and His judgement.

But maybe God will sometime in the future.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did Jesus not spend time with HIS enemies? Did He not try to get them to see the truth?

The point is a nutcase is not a brother in Christ to me.
And I am calling your position on anger hyper legalistic.

I live with my judgements and explain why I come to them.

Jesus called the teachers of the law snakes. Now you can say I have no authority
to speak as I do. Well I stand before the Lord and on His word.

You condemned people of murder because they are angry with members of the public.
Jesus does not teach this. So you are condemning falsely, yet to you maybe that does
not matter. Murder is sin, and sin is serious.

And on the subject of being hurt, it is irrelevant if they are not saved and not going to be
with Jesus, willing to commit blasphemy against the Holy Spirit on the drop of a hat, and
care little about scripture or Jesus's word.

Ariel, you trust people way too much, and see the best even when it is not there. I fear
for your future, I can only do what I do. God bless you, I understand your approach, but
as I have said, spiritually it is dangerous for you and you are making friends with the enemy.

Peter says God will judge US, but God will also judge HIM for calling others who disagree with him, such derogatory names as psychopaths, insane, nutjobs, loons, and the like. :/
I have to laugh at this. God judges us all the time, and blesses us daily.

I said psychopaths have no empathy or method of knowing what others are like
on the inside. This lack of empathy makes them both dangerous and difficult.
I do not know anyone who fits this category, but I mentioned it in passing.

Insanity is saying behaviour does not matter. But just think about this when
you next answer the door and someone with a gun is facing you. What they
do matters to you, and your life depends upon it. So to talk as if law, morality
are not the foundation of our existance is insanity. If you do not acknowledge
this you prove my point.

What one member confirmed to day was this statement

Satan and his horde do not come to the believer in Christ and say "Sin all you want" because no one would for fall for such a lie. Instead they come as "ministers of righteousness".

How can any believer who knows Christ link "righeousness" and "satan" together.

That is just insane and stupid, or believers here are definately not following Jesus.

(toss a cake at you)

Now you know I didn't say all that.

You wouldn't ever INTENTIONALLY lie, but I actually just want to know what he does and doesn't believe. Instead of being told secondhand, I prefer asking him.

You know there are two types of "works salvationist" and you can't slap the label on folks without acknowledging the difference.

Most people deny that you have to have works to get salvation, but some believe you must have works to maintain it.

Some don't think keeping the law is works.

Didn't Jesus say to love our enemies? Even if we DO consider them to be, in PJ's words, "nutcases"? Seriously, didn't Jesus love Judas, Peter and Pontius Pilate? One denied him, one betrayed him for money, and the other one ordered His execution...

Important topic this. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metanoia_(theology)

Its not a one time sorrow, at conversion. Its a continual lifestyle. A complete change of heart and mind. How then, if we are repentant, would we choose to live in sin?

[h=1]Matthew 4:17King James Version (KJV)[/h] [SUP]17 [/SUP]From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

NO ONE on this earth is righteous. GOD says so. :) And yes, God does judge us, not only for our sins, but for every word that escapes our mouths.. According to you, several here are psychopaths, and you have no right to judge that based on how they act or what they say. There is only ONE judge, and it ain't you..

I have to laugh at this. God judges us all the time, and blesses us daily.

Ministers of righteousness = Pharisees who teach the external law, calls the internal law "hyper legalism" and don't keep the internal laws but justifies their sins.

Cleans the outward cup and doesn't examine their inward sin but seems to pluck the speck from others eyes while, the log remains in theirs.

That's what God taught me about it.

What about you, Blue?

Jesus also raked the false teachers over the coals......I have only put one on ignore.....there are a few that are borderline....but so much peace and less stress.....I would like to say more, but will spare.......

You have to have FAITH to get salvation. :) Whether or not we do good works afterward, does NOT determine the KEEPING of our salvation.. Faith is a work of God, not us..

blue = Jesus spent most of His time with sinners and the needy, teaching, healing and
loving people.

He knew who hated Him and warned there is no point correcting them, they will just
try and kill you. He had enough first hand experience of this.

Here on cc a few words and you are labelled, lied about, told you have sins in ....
and then told you know nothing. I suppose what choice do people have if the word
tells them something, they have no argument against what is being said, it must be
the enemy causing this problem. God would not be bringing such news, he is cute
and cuddly and would not hurt a fly.

Truth is the brutal cross, blood running down, death and allegiance to love above the
world. Nothing cute and nice or even safe in a worldly sense, just true.

People don't acknowledge what they are doing as sin. That is what God has to change our minds about. He shows us what He considers is sin and people either confess and repent or tell God he is lying and they aren't really sinning,

Faith, Hope, love and Salvation are all gifts that CANNOT be labored for and or kept by labor....

My brother GAVE me a new handgun for my birthday....I did not have to work for it to get it or keep it!

Oh I have plenty of sins of my own. :) I've never denied that. EVERYONE here has sins of their own.. Some just prefer to point out other people's sins instead of their own, because *gasp* how dare someone point out their sins to others.. LOL
