I believe that female preachers/pastors are not what God wants. Is this correct? I am looking for a new church and thought I found one but for me the deal breaker is that they have a female pastor. Many churches do. Am I wrong in my belief?
I don't know why anyone would object to a female pastor.

The whole verse is about authority and women not berating their husbands in public.

You have to admit it's good advice. Who really wants to watch a woman chew out her husband?

How do you explain 1 Tim 2 v. 15 if it's not about married men and women?

2:15 is about Christ.

Or do you believe that you are saved by having children?

Women can preach,teach,exhort,rebuke,say a little,say a lot,relate the Gospel to people,here a little,there a little,like a man.

But.

1Co 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
1Co 11:10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.

The authority structure of God on earth, with angels being last for they are ministering spirits sent to all who shall inherit salvation, and the angels desire to look in to the salvation of the saints, for they will have a higher position in heaven than that of the angels.

1Co 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
1Co 14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
1Co 14:35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

All have to preach the Gospel of Christ, and teach, and women can do what men can do,but when it is the gathering of the saints together, then the man should take the lead, for it is the authority structure of God on earth.

Gal 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

In the Lord a male and female are equal, for the only thing that separates a man and a woman is the flesh, the spirit and soul are the same.

When the saints gather together to hear the word of God,and to worship God,a man should take the lead, but outside of that setting she can preach, and teach, for we are all instructed to preach the Gospel of Christ, and to teach.

Narrow minded, sexist, bigoted, and WRONG..........other than that..............

This newer member comes in here and simply asks two questions seeking honest answers.........the above post really takes the cake for Christian behavior!

Never heard that take on it before.

I believe children are a blessing from God.

Blessing maybe, but surely not a way of salvation for a woman.

As Eve fell into transgression, so the line of women is saved through the seed of a woman, Mary having Christ.

Women brought fell into the world, women brought salvation into the world, too.

Glad to see that most folks are just taking the bible for what it is actually saying, no women in authority over men in an assembly(church). Paul was speaking of the assembled church when he said that men are to do the leading. The idea that Paul was speaking of a married couple is a desperate grasping at a straw. Actually in the home a wife and husband should teach each other.

Those same Scriptures state that we aren't under the law, yet here you are creating a new law. But we've already had that debate.

Well, since you have no regard for anything Paul wrote it will do no good to try to explain anything to you so, I am going to leave it right here.

Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

We do not void out the law,but we establish the law, which we can do by the Holy Spirit.

Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
Gal 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Those led of the Spirit will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh, and they have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts, and show the characteristics of the Spirit,in which there is no fleshy ways there,so they are not under the law, which means the law cannot touch them for prosecution, for they are led of the Spirit, and not led of the flesh.

Only if a person is led of the Spirit are they not under the law,but if they show the characteristics of the flesh, then they are under the law in that circumstance,so if a female oversteps her bounds to be a preacher, when the man is supposed to take the lead, she does so being led of the flesh, going outside the authority structure of God,and with that she is under the law,and does not right.

If a person holds unto sin then they are under the law in that sin,and all sin is unrighteousness, and if you offend in the least of the law you offend all,for they are led of the flesh while they hold unto sin,and not led of the Spirit, for if they were led of the Spirit they would do the things of the Spirit, and the flesh would have no place there.

Women can do what a man can do,but when the saints come together,a man is supposed to take the lead.

I acknowledge that is one way of looking at it.

Here is another:

How Are Women Saved Through Childbearing? | Desiring God

Some have suggested “through childbearing” refers to the birth of Christ. But in the only other place where a form of this word occurs in the Bible (1 Timothy 5:14) it simply refers to bearing children: “So I would have younger widows marry, bear children . . .”

Henry Alford notices that being saved “through” something does not have to mean being saved “by” it, but may mean being saved through it as through a danger. He also notices that Paul does combine the two words (“being saved” and “through”) this way in 1 Corinthians 3:15. “If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.”

Could “She will be saved through childbearing,” mean “She will be saved, not by means of, but through (that is, in spite of) the engulfing pains of childbirth”?

The time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine... 2 Timothy 4:3

That time is now.

There is more to it than that, for it states that they will be turned unto fables, which are the imaginations of people.

The time they will not endure sound doctrine,is not hypocrisy in female pastors, and not people neglecting the poor and needy, and not believing God blesses with money, and material things, and not lack of love among many who claim Christ, and not people claiming Christ involved in sin,and the general hypocrisy that the world views them to be like.

For those things are not fables, but they are reality, although not right.

1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1Ti 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1Ti 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
1Ti 4:4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
1Ti 4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

The new age movement. An interpretation of the Bible based on the occult, nature worship, and the harnessing of the power of nature for spiritual evolution.

Man of sin acknowledges no God,but honors the God of forces, the power of nature as his God.

Forbids to marry for population reduction, which the man of sin has no desire of women.

Command to abstain from eating meat, nature worshippers, reverence of animals.

The new age movement will unify the religions with Christianity,Islam, and Judaism, interpreted as such, and fundamental views of them obsolete to the world.

The man of sin will promote the unified religious system, and the new age movement, and will set the world up for when he claims to be God by the harnessing of nature.

2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

When the unified religious system is in operation, the world will not endure the truth of the Bible that has been preached for thousands of years, but want to hear the interpretation according to the unified religious systems interpretation of the Bible, which are fables, not reality, that caters to their lusts, for it is about personal power through the power of nature, and Christianity will rapidly lose their impact in reaching out to the world with the truth.

2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

The saints cannot be gathered unto Christ until there is a falling away first, the operation of the unified religious system, whose standard format is of the new age movement, and Christianity loses its impact on the world, and the man of sin claims to be God,which he promoted the new age movement, and the harnessing of nature for spiritual evolution, before he claimed to be God,and prepared the world with that type of thinking before he claimed to be God.

Female pastors, although wrong in certain circumstances is not the time they will not endure sound doctrine, for that is reality, but when they do not want to endure sound doctrine it is based on them wanting to believe fables, which are the imaginations of people not based in reality, and hear it according to their own lusts, which is not about the general hypocrisy that people view Christianity today, but the future, the unified religious system, based on the new age movement, that is about harnessing the power of nature for personal power, and spiritual evolution.

That is not Scriptural at all. Adam is responsible for the fall of creation, not Eve.

There is more to it than that, for it states that they will be turned unto fables, which are the imaginations of people..

That they turn true doctrine into tales implies into whatever they feel, everything but what is true. It includes departing from the true doctrine of God appointing pastors as male only. That is to not endure sound doctrine and its scope is broad.

While I struggle with questions about this issue (for reasons based on Bible verses that discuss women in leadership positions in the Church and because I don't think the answer is the same in all situations. Ex. What if a female Christian is the only Christian in an area. She's been a Christian for years and has studied the Bible. She witnesses to some men in her area and they are saved. But they only know that we're saved through faith in Christ. They don't know what the Bible says about many issues and have barely studied the Bible. The group decides to worship together every Sabbath, essentially forming a church. I don't believe God would have a problem with the woman being the pastor, as the men could easily lead the others astray. Maybe this isn't likely to happen in America, but perhaps in third world countries.)

However, 1 Timothy 2:4 doesn't permit women in the church to have authority over men. I'd feel uncomfortable in a church with a female pastor.

1Ti 2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
1Ti 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

Eve was the one that was deceived, because she was deceived by Satan, and the first human to sin,and it began with her.

Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Rom 5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
Rom 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
Rom 5:15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
Rom 5:16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
Rom 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

But it was Adam's sin that caused sin to enter the world, not Eve's sin,and if Adam would of not listened to his wife, sin would of not entered in to the world, but what would of happened to Adam's wife, forgiven because Adam did not sin.

That they turn true doctrine into tales implies into whatever they feel, everything but what is true. It includes departing from the true doctrine of God appointing pastors as male only. That is to not endure sound doctrine and its scope is broad.

"The women are to keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but are to subject themselves, just as the Law also says. If they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is improper for a woman to speak in church. Was it from you that the word of God first went forth? Or has it come to you only? If anyone thinks he is a prophet or spiritual, let him recognize that the things which I write to you are the Lord’s commandment. But if anyone does not recognize this, he is not recognized." 1 Cor.14:34-38

1Ti 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
1Ti 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
1Ti 2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
1Ti 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
1Ti 2:15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

The reason these passages are so despised and disregarded is because personal desires, ambitions, and agendas are allowed to overturn revealed truth thus, divinely established prohibitions are pushed aside in favor of personal will.

And that is why God has an authority structure,so men and women do not fight over who is in authority, and also Adam was made first, which the Bible points out, unlike the world where the man and woman fight over control, and divorces up the wazoo.

Would women like it if their children tried to assume authority in the household, nay, they would not like it,but why can't that apply there if women say they can be preachers over men,and let us throw the whole order of God out the window.

Children honor your parents, and obey them, and wives submit to your husbands, and a man is to lead in the congregation of the saints.

But today they are at odds with each other, with children trying to control the household situation in certain things, and husbands and wives battling for control, and cannot get along despite they are supposed to have the closest relationship out of anybody on earth.

It is not good, and a sign that it is the last generation before Jesus comes back.
