just was wondering how many people here on christian chat can honestly say they belong to a church and give the name of the church(No need to mention where it is,that's up to you) I am honestly a member of Eternal Life Missionary Baptist Church,in Tennessee,in New Market,old aj highway(the street/road/drive not sure which one...),it's a bit obscure in my opinion because of two reasons,1.it's near alot of churches 2.to me it is kind of in a back alley even though it is next to both a busy street and a telephone pole and we have neighbors on all sides yet this has had no effect on the church,even when our pastor was on the news years ago when it was flooded it didn't get many people,in fact some people left the church for good just because of the flood though those who have stayed have been head strong and happy to stay and even helped rebuild the church and we all believe the flood to have been a blessing in disguise for two reasons as well1.One of the church's deacons felt called by God to go back to the church before heading home to turn the electric braker off before the flood hit while and because of that the church was only flooded but it also revealed a vital discovery that there were Live Wires under the church!So the church would have been flooded and burnt down if not for God calling the church's deacon back to the church to turn off the electric braker and after that the wires were removed as well as the electric redone 2.The flood weeded out all those who weren't truly faithful to the church because as I said before not only did they not come back even after the church was rewired and rebuilt but they never even offered any help at all no,as in no trying to help the church with money nor even offering to help fix the church,our church members are rather few now but at least we all pull together for God and for me it is the one church that I feel the most spirit at! alrighty who's next!(as I said totally up to you,you can state what church you belong to and leave it at that or go into detail as I did,no influencing intended from me for you to do so,I wanted to share about my church in detail and that's just me being me.

echoeeeeeee anyone here? is there seriously noone that is a member of a church,nor anyone who can say with honesty what church they are a member of besides me??? surely not.

yeah I thought about that as an issue but I figured mainly mentioning a church name, one belongs to would be harmless because so many churches seem to have similar names anyways and if you don't mention where it is some wrong doer shouldn't be able to easily pester a church,but yeah I do understand the risks,just thought it would be refreshing to see who belongs to a church of a truth instead of asking the usual yes or no deal because so many may lie about, if they belong to a church or not,but I might try the yes or no deal instead.

That's not exactly what I meant. I meant personal attacks here on the forum. In truth, most of my church would laugh at someone calling the office and trying to slam one of us. We are a congregation of misfits to Religion and refugees from mainline Christianity. We got over being attacked as a "cult" years ago, and now almost consider it a compliment when people come against our values.

Most of my family originated (on my mother's side) not too far from you. We are mainly from Elizabethton, Johnson City, Kingsport, Unicoi, and Mountain City.

oh ok willie T now I get what your saying but what's done is done and I did warn of discretion when mentioning one's church,so that's all I can do,(Tinuviel ,your church name doesn't have the right ring to it? try ringing a bell while typing see if that helps lol(couldn't resist saying this after all you said ring to it lol)

Ps there has been loads of threads on here about which churches people
go to. I think people sometimes just get bored with repeating themselves. Lol

I would like to ask why u go to church if no where people obey the Scriptures? Even in most churches they dont preach the Word faithfully, let alone showing the example of obedience (at least the preacher). And what is anyway the difference these days between a bar (where people r nice and kind and forgiving and so on) and a church?

I go to Assembly of God.
Though I don't believe in all their rules, I find it better than all the others around me.

I go to a Presbyterian church, it's down the road from my house and it's name is the same as the street I live on, so I'm not posting the full name, but it's something Avenue Presbyterian church.
