So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
Gal 3:26-27

However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness.
Rom 4:5

But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness.
Rom 8:10

What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.
Phil 3:8-9
So you believe salvation is by faith in Christ finished work alone, yes or no?

People can quote the same scriptures and take two totally different meaning from them. You see it happen daily on CC.

Also do you have to do good works or risk losing your salvation?

What is your foundation and what is your building?

"Free Will"?
Ez. 3:17-21
17 "Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at My mouth, and give them warning from Me."
18 "When I say unto the wicked, 'Thou shalt surely die;' and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand."
19 "Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
Deut. 30:17, 19
Vs. 17 "But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shall be drawn away , and worship other gods, and serve them;" .....Vs. 19 "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live;
Clearly God tells us "to choose", and He gives us free will to choose, whether or not we will receive His word, accept Him as our Heavenly Father, our God, and obey Him as His children. God is the living God, and it's hard for me to imagine that He would want little robots, created in His image, running around spouting "love you God -love you God". I don't think that would satisfy His creative talents.
Of course, on the other hand, I don't doubt that when we sin, we become a slave of sin, and a slave of Satan.

See the difference is simple.....

We believe righteous works are the result of biblical salvation and the faith one already possesses in Christ

The workers for and cake takers believe salvation is gained, kept and embellished by righteous works.....

The latter is false according to Paul and his letter to the Galatian assemblies....he actually calls those who believe the latter fools and bewitched......

So...why the workers for and cake takers labor to try and keep what is impossible to keep and or get by works....those who trust Jesus will rest in his finished work on our behalf and claim it by faith.

It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe<------as simple as it gets!

"fool themselves"

So one group have decided this other group are fooling themselves.
This might be true but you have to honestly declare what you believe and why, and then
suggest why others have got it wrong.

Now I have tried to do this time and again to define different belief structures and reasons
and the response has been, I am insulting, slandering, lying, being evil, of satan, sending people
to hell.

Now any group who dislike their beliefs being properly defined and put down, are not being honest
with themselves.

I have declared simply time and again what I believe and why, where I stand on each point as far
as I can work it through, yet I am told I am unclear, people are confused, I distort and twist things.

So the response to truth and openness is personal attacks without respect. Long term this approach
will die and destroy the people who hold it. A fool is someone who does not listen to Christ.

Christ is very specific. Listen to my words, put them into practice and you are a wise man.

"sick of seeing folks fool themselves"

Build you house upon the rock, obey Christ and put into effect His commands.
So one group have decided this other group are fooling themselves.
This might be true but you have to honestly declare what you believe and why, and then

Allows for a good open discussion which is what we want to have.
As long as it is done in love.

Now any group who dislike their beliefs being properly defined and put down, are not being honest with themselves
Do you not fall foul of that yourself. It seems to be the case just purely based on the last part of your quote above.

it seems to me you are, given the following

Ariel - You are so sure these are people who do not know Jesus or the cross or redemption.
You are saying I am trying to justify myself before God.

I think you are missing out on the walk, and what the walk is.
How do we attain the stature of Christ and His walk?

This is a many layered walk, with many issues if put at the wrong level disappear.

The church in all its forms is a history of man trying to find meaning and interpretation
through scripture and their walk.

For whatever reason the abdication route is favoured by many.
It is simple and direct, but it misses the point by over-emphasising the failure of a redeemed
believer, and putting too much responsibility on God.

Jesus said God was the land owner who had been away a long time, and was a hard task
master, expecting returns where it had not been sown.

Unless people can start to be honest about behaviour and how this works within our walk,
it is all just excuses, and I can have no respect for those who talk and behave like this.
Lawlessness is the reign of an idea when morality does not exist with no reference points.

When asked repeatedly the answer is not given. So the accusation stands, this is lawlessness
verses the law of Christ.

I am simply standing for the principle of love working through our lives and transforming us
step by step into the likeness of Christ. But for many this is an impossible goal or path,
they just walk day by day and leave it at that.

Your post 6526 is confusing, to me anyway.

So you say Ariel is missing out on the walk, so now in a sense you a have made it personal to her, which is an attack on her.

Layered walk, abdication. over emphasising the failure of redeemed believer and putting to much responsibility on God?

Honest about behaviour, how it works within our walk, it's all excuses.

Thats a judgement you make that some would see as a personal attack.

I can have no respect for those who talk and behave like this.

Your belief has been challenged yet you stick with them. Some would say you are not being honest with yourself but you disagree, just like others do with you.

Then you by inference accuse them of lawlessness and say you have no respect for them.

Quite a big statement here.
Judging a fellow believer of being lawlessness and then saying you have no respect for them.

So to me you have fallen foul of everything everything you have posted about others because they interpret scripture differently to you.

PJ I can't see that as you answering Ariel

People should simply state the gospel message they believe and cease from the endless labeling of "wolf".

Is your foundation Christ alone for your salvation?

Or is it by works?

I get bored of this questioning. Have I not told people what my faith is?
Being a standard traditional evangelical with a statement on my blog and
enumerable statements of where I stand, why do I have to repeat to the
same people? Are they deaf, got short term memory loss, gone into a time
warp?

Christ is all in all through the cross. Only by Him are we washed clean, purified,
made whole, established in the heavenlies, bonded with the everlasting, filled
with the Holy Spirit, and born again on the repentance of sins, confession of sins
and putting ones faith in the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.

Empowered by His love and cleansing, we can truly walk in righteousness, and through
sanctification become like Christ as we walk in obedience. Faith keeps us in communion,
while we work through the issues and learn what love from the heart is and how it flows
from us. Can we loose this? Some of my friends who once appeared to have faith now
do not. Some who walked in spiritual gifts are now atheists. Some are apostate, some
heretics, so it appears we do not know, but if we stay faithful God remains faithful to
His promises. My question is the other way, can we aspire to be truly one in Christ,
knowing His will and letting Him flow through us in love and power?

Why would I be fascinated with failure, when we should press on to eternity and fulfillment.

I am sure someone will ask this to me again, and still I will say the same, so Praise the Lord
that through our confession He is glorified, Amen

No but seariously bro you are a good bro we have debated for 1 month every night and i still see you as a bro..

Lol anyways just one smallpoint on your quote we are recieving salvation of our souls all the time bro...

1 Peter 1:9 9now that you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. 10Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who foretold the grace that would come to you, searched and investigated carefully,

Recieving salvation of your soul means one thing only mate... its a daily process... its not something i think i must earn and its not something that is completed daily ... salvation is something that means rescued... we my frind are being rescued daily.. from the snare of the enemy...(the trap... Think on brother and dont get typsy on the flight..get merry... i find a nice glass of shampayne goes well at 41000 feet

Think on and say i never did mind being disagre3ed with... it only make me want to show you the truth even more...

Cuz you don't give a straight answer Peter and make accusations that people who have stated what you say you believe to be believers in "easy believism" and "free ticket gospel".....So the question is what do you ,believe that they dont that you feel justified to make such "observations"?

*****

If someone has no external works but has true Faith in Jesus as savior, will they be saved...yes or no?

Nah, Peter says he attends a Baptist church.

What denomination church do you hang your hat Jimbo?

Dont think I ever saw.

I want to say Pentecostal but I might be wrong.
