A reminder for all that participate in this thread , Our home is not america nor any other country at this moment , until God make everything a new , those that are Born again are clearly aware of this.

So this protecting the american life style , or any country life style , is not from God but of the world.

Hebrews 13:14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

For those that have partaken on this thread , Let us discuss scripture and your take on it shall we ???

Revelation 13:11-12 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

Shall we begin ???

Although I do not act like it in any way, shape, form, or fashion, I did serve in the US military. It was possibly the worst decision I ever made in my life, and once I was honorably discharged, I told myself that I would work diligently to undo the programming and behavior modifications that I had to take on while serving in uniform. Obviously, I was successful.

As for the true purpose of the US military...I don't know for sure. I can only speculate. I was only an E-3 by the time I was discharged, so I was never privy to anything. I "think"; I "believe"; I "feel"...that the purpose of the US military is to perpetuate conflicts around the globe to keep money flowing in and out of the military industrial complex. I think that if the US didn't have some enemy to fight someplace, even if they have to create one out of thin air with the help of the CIA, that the military industrial complex would collapse and take the entire US economy and the rest of the worlds' economies with it.

I probably don't know what I'm talking about though, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Many people adored their time in service, and they are welcomed to their opinions. I only know how I feel.

This reminds me of my friends that have served 5 in total marines, navy, airforce. Three of them will agree with you on undoing the programming and behavior modifications , that they were taught in service. Thee fourth one love serving , but did not like how they were forgotten after serving in the military in vietnam , He lately became born again and is amaze what God word says. The fifth one is serving at a military station in germany contractor , but she is realizing things have change .

Out of the five , only three of them are born again .

But i would like to know , your views on thee scripture , that was share upon in revelation 13

One can only hypothesise what Revelation means.

Two horns tends to refer to a bull, aggressively pushing forward. The lamb stands for grace and innocence. So maybe a bull dressed in lambs clothing?

Dragon usually refers to China. China hasn't yet been drawn into these worldly conflicts. Maybe that is why the next stop is North Korea.

I actually don't think North Korea really is a threat. It's a military state. The rhetoric given by Kim is to continue the military dream that outside is a dangerous world. How else do you conscript a nation to be all for a military dictatorship? It reminds me of how a certain country acts, but unlike North Korea - acts upon.

But I get it with the Americans who believe North Korea is an aggressive state. North Korea have been sending their warships to the American coast... Oh?? Oh, they would but the Americans stopped them. It takes a large amount of stupidity to continually believe American propaganda, which has been going on since WW2.

It's a bit like Russia building up armies on the Russian border. They do it because of the increased military presence on their border. What stupid country would not build up it's military on the border if other countries were building up military on the border with them (in the first instance)?

This reminds me of my friends that have served 5 in total marines, navy, airforce. I don't have any thoughts to share with you. The symbolism and allegory in the book of Revelation is open to speculation, and anything I could share would just be a wild guess, and would only serve to fuel arguments where others interpret the symbolism differently, and those kinds of conversations go nowhere. I just avoid them. It's much better for my sanity that way.

This Vic guy is just "spinning a web" in my opinion........He still continues to ignore all the Scriptures I posted.......hafta wonder why, right?

Here Vic..........consider this Scripture:

1 Timothy 5:8) But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

When you reach a level of Spiritual maturity to fully understand the full implications of this Scripture, you will have your answer.

From what I have read, all of your Threads are questionable as to their "true intent." So, I am left to wonder what your "true purpose" is here on Christian Chat?

The beast is Rome.

This is shown by the statue of the gentile nations that rule over Israel until they are restored to control of Jerusalem in Daniel 2. (1967)

See that the Roman iron beast nation, continues until the stone strikes.

This means that the iron beast nation is ONE entity.

The Earth beast, is just part of the total beast. It is describing one part of the Roman Empire nation.

The waters of the sea are people, the sea beast rises from the gentile nations.

The earth beast is the religious part of the Roman iron beast nation, Caesar worship. (the earth is closer to God than the sea)

He is a goat. Matt 25. Religious, but not pure.

----

Caesar worship continued after the Roman Empire fell. It is still with us today.

But now it is only the "image" of it's former self.

---

The dragon is the spirit of Satan in the Roman iron beast nation Empire. (7 heads, 10 horns)

His ambition is to destroy Israel, wild and natural branches.

He has been trying to do it for 2000 years, as Rome.

Yup, that's what Scripture says.........and, still yet, you continue to ignore the Scriptures I posted.

IF you want to discuss "earthly armies/soldiers, and what their purpose is".....which is how I read your OP, then you must needs be address the question/issue in earthly terms.

IF you want to address "spiritual armies/soldiers and their purpose," then you can certainly do so in spiritual terms. Wnat you can not do is address earthly armies/soldiers in the realm of the spiritual world.

From the start I acknowledged that we are in the world, not of the world, however, you asked about the earthly armies/soldiers......and that is what I addressed. As well, you wanted to discount/not discuss the Old Testament as I recall for surely God USED earthly armies/soldiers to put to the sword entire peoples! That would not fit your goal would it?

:)

Anyway, whatever your objective is, I will leave you to it..............but do not keep pretending that you have not been provided Scriptures that address the question(s) asked in the OP.

Hebrews 13:14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

I have to kind of laugh at all the people who find the USA in Revelation. Aren't you guys aware enough to recognize that the USA will no longer exist in 50 years, or so? And that will likely be thousands of years before Christ returns.
This is a Cheerful Post Willie Im just wondering why you think the USA wont exist 50 years from now

And that will likely be thousands of years before Christ returns.
The stage is set with most prophesies having been fulfilled... ain't gonna be 50 years.

Jesus upbraided the religious people of His day for not knowing the season of His first coming... we should know we are in the season of His second... time frame, not date setting.

theory that states the all the world leaders are luciferian
Well, if they are not followrs of Jesus Christ... then they are.

I'm a pacifist
Pass a fist... kinda like pass the ammunition, eh?

I hope he can think with his heart first, and inspire people to be more on the side of peace
Jesus said there would be no peace... the anti-christ will draw people to himself with promises of peace.

This world is toast, be ready to vacate when Jesus opens the escape hatch.

Scoffers need not apply...

The Book opens with the following words:

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants
what must soon take place and he made it known by sending his angel to his
servant John who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony
of Jesus Christ even to all that he saw.

Rev 1:1-2

The book was meant to be understood by the people it was first sent to and to believers in every age.
Its main theme is of overcoming the world the flesh and the Devil in the face of persecution and tribulation
The Symbolism and Allegory found in the book can for the most part be understood with a thorough
knowledge of the OT because the visions are in the pattern and language of the OT. The main problem
in discussing the contents is to try and impose an interpretation that fits into a 21st Century scheme of things.
Wild ideas like Locusts really being Helicopters and to trying to identify the Antichrist and Babylon
the Great with modern People and Countries is what leads to endless arguments . The meanings of much of the
Book are in the Bible.

I thought this was an actual discussion about the US military, instead of another eschatology exercise.

Even this thread illustrates why I don't study, or worry about "end times".....

In every discussion about it, there are 4 or 5 people who have "studied end-times for 30 years or more"... and who EACH have been "led by the Spirit" to their understanding of what the prophecies mean, and NONE of them agree with each other.

Poor little old ignorant me doesn't stand a chance.... I have decided that I will do my best to be ready for Jesus to return, or to rapture everyone, or whatever he decides to do... and then not worry about it, one way or the other.

[SUP]25 [/SUP]And which of you by worrying can add a single [SUP][l][/SUP]hour to his [SUP][m][/SUP]life’s span? [SUP]26 [/SUP]If then you cannot do even a very little thing, why do you worry about other matters?
[SUP]35 [/SUP]“[SUP][o][/SUP]Be dressed in readiness, and keep your lamps lit. [SUP]36 [/SUP]Be like men who are waiting for their master when he returns from the wedding feast, so that they may immediately open the door to him when he comes and knocks. [SUP]37 [/SUP]Blessed are those slaves whom the master will find on the alert when he comes; truly I say to you, that he will gird himself to serve, and have them recline at the table, and will come up and wait on them. [SUP]38 [/SUP]Whether he comes in the [SUP][p][/SUP]second watch, or even in the [SUP][q][/SUP]third, and finds them so, blessed are those slaves.
[SUP]39 [/SUP]“But [SUP][r][/SUP]be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have allowed his house to be [SUP][s][/SUP]broken into. [SUP]40 [/SUP]You too, be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour that you do not [SUP][t][/SUP]expect.”

I said I like to READ, so I'll continue to watch the conversation unfold. You would do well for yourself...that is if you can break yourself away from your own self-righteousness, to work on your reading comprehension. I'm not going to hold your hand simply because you can't be bothered to see what's written because of the glare of your awesomeness, or your jubilation at the prospect of getting a zinger of a comment on someone.

The question is who is the Master.

Of course the purpose of the military is defense, and there will be times when the argument could be made that this means aggression.

But who is the master?

A. of the person who serves

B. of the whole machine of American military power.

Does the person who serves give up their conscience? Should they not examine that which they are committing to?

Who is really in charge and makes the decisions? It seems that a number of the branches of the American government are not under control. It is the right of Congress to declare war. Obama for one did it on his own. The CIA has its own air force, "enforcers" and operations which go on without answering to anyone. Various branches of the military are in competition with eachother, not co-operation, and keep secrets from eachother. Ditto NSA and NASA, which has plenty of secrets it doesn't even tell the President or Congress. Who is really in charge of this mess?

Personally, I don't believe hidden conspiracy groups are as powerful as even they might think. But I don't think I could serve the America of today with a clear conscience, despite the greatness and honourability of its founding constitution. All that is left is a flag, and what is that?

It is true that the Bible describes sword as the Word of God, or Gospel, but in the Scripture being discussed it (the Gospel) is used as a spiritual divider. The Word of God is sharper than any two edged sword, able to divide asunder

I can easily see how the Scripture does apply to this discussion. Christians are said to be the Army of God. Armies use the sword to defeat the enemy. A spiritual war has casualties just as a physical war, and the result of both is death.

Yeah, in scripture it's also an offensive weapon against satan's lies... Jesus used God's Word to slap satan around - it's a weapon! (for an example of this, read the account of satan trying to tempt Jesus to sin)
