Just wondering...

This thread was prompted by this statement:

No I think he is a troll and like I said they cannot be reasoned with

I sometimes wonder about what other CC members really think of me.

( I get a lot of criticism for "seeing [ some ] things a bit different than most folks", and not very much encouragement for [ whatever things ] that other members may find to be 'positive'... )

Sometimes, I am a bit confused at a response from another member that would seem to indicate that their perception(s) of me do not match the reality of what I consider to be an honest, objective, assessment of myself.

Am I really despised by most of the [ regular ] members of CC? Sometimes I wonder...

I originally planned to create a poll for this thread. But, then I realized that I couldn't possibly come up with an all-inclusive list of options for people to select from...

So -- just tell me -- in your own words -- what do you really think of me?

What is right about me? What is wrong about me?

This is your chance to tell-it-like-you-see-it...

I know this is a bit unusual -- and, definitely not your average thread.

I want to ask the site staff to give a bit of leeway to anyone who posts in this thread -- so that very 'candid' posts may be made without fear of being banned. ( As long as it is not out-and-out 'slander'. I know there are still limits. And, there should be. And, we should all conduct ourselves appropriately. )

I promise to treat any and all responses as objectively as possible - neither "getting a big head" from 'positive' remarks nor "getting hostile" over 'negative' ones. ( As long as they are given with honesty and sincerity - and a reasonable amount of 'tact' would be good... :D:cool: )

Please do not fight with each other because of differing opinions. ( Assuming that anyone actually posts something 'positive'. )

If you really think I have said or done anything worthy of encouragement -- then, encourage me.

If you really think I need "constructive criticism" -- then, criticize me.

Or, [ whatever ].

Don't worry -- I can take it. I sincerely would like to know.

Just be sincererly honest - that is [ basically ] all I ask...

Don't be concerned that I have suffered any "psychological scars" from the statement quoted above -- or, that I will suffer any from comments / remarks that may be made in this thread. I am stronger than that. Besides...

I don't care that much for him, either... ;)

( But, I am not holding any grudges. )

I am not going to loose any sleep over it.

I always try to treat everyone else on CC with a kind regard.

For anyone who posts honest-and-sincere comments -- at their request ( in this thread ) - I will do the same in return.

I like a lot of people on here. There are actually very few for whom I have any significant 'dislike'.

I am posting this in the Conspiracy & Corruption Discussion Forum because some / most people on here don't seem to associate me with anything else ----- no - I am kidding. But, seriously, I would like to keep it "hidden" from non-logged-in viewers -- in consideration of any-and-all who may post in this thread.

Ever notice that smiley at the bottom of most of my posts? Do you know why I put it there?

It is to indicate that my frame-of-mind / disposition while posting is one that is "calm, cool, and collected" -- not angry or any such similar thing -- you know - just me expressing my opinion...

:)

Well I barely know you. Ive seen stuff from you that Ive agreed with and things ive disagreed with. I cannot really say that I think your a troll or so as I havent had a lot of encounters with you and usually if, i dont remember anything negative.
Keep your head up brother :) ((hugs))
Have a good day. Dont let people get under your skin too much.

We all want to be liked and thought of well. Don't be troubled by negative posts. Look at them as opportunities God has given you to show love in response.

All kinds of issues are going on with people. If you view them through the lens that THEY may be hurting and in need of a loving response, it will be easier to bear.

I'm not too familiar with your doctrinal beliefs, but I DO know, if you are in Christ, you are my brother, and even if you are not, I am called to love you.

So peace, Grace, and love to you! In Jesus Name.

What truly matters is what God thinks of you. Try not to worry about what peoples perceptions are because at the end of the day it doesn't matter tbh.

I think you are a truly horrid, awful person..

For stealing my chocolate and coffee all the time. ;)

LOL

I try my best not to play the man but play the ball.. Often i will read a post and respond to it without even bothering to identify the person who posted it.. I try my best to deal with the topic not the person when it comes to doctinal matters.. Of course if the thread is a joke or play thread not a ""serious thread"" i will focus more on the person..

So your name means very little to me.. I guess i will have to look up your posts to find out your style.

If i where you i would try not to use such smile faces or LOLs in Serious threads.. They can be quickly interpreted as being a smug face projecting arrogance upon others.. LOLs can be seen as mocking laughter at other people.. In light hearted threads yeah smiles and ha ha ha haaa's help to foster a pleasant attitude.. But on emotive serious doctrinal posts,,, Nope.. avoid them if there is a chance they can be misinterpreted as smug superiority and mocking denigration...

I'd like to tell you I have an opinion of you, one way or the other.... but, honestly, I don't. You post once in a while, and I read what you say. But it must not affect me too much, or I would probably remember something.

I don't know you enough really to have a perception of you.. think i saw you one time fly out of the youtube room when you saw me playing bass boosted music lol but other than that i have none.
I don't think you will receive much of any hate or anything while being open like this... more then likely you will see criticism and whatever appear at an inconvenient time, like after you just shared something deep or you really put your thought into responding to something, it will be at that right moment when you see what peoples perceptions of you are.

Hi Gary, I actually need to apologize for my remark as it was not very Christ like. The reason i believe you to be a troll is that even though you have been given more than enough evidence to show that earth is not flat you continued to show your(evidence) of it being flat and no matter how much anyone attempted to reason with you you were so stuck in your mindset that it seemed like you weren't even sincere in your theory and just wanted to stir the pot.

Of course even though I was half kidding my comment was uncalled for and I apologize for it

Dont let people get under your skin too much.
Thank you for that ( truly, honey, I mean it ) -- but, that is not really what this thread is about. It is not intended to be a "woe is me, why does nobody like me" thread; rather, it is a "reality check" kind of thing. The reactions I sometimes get make me wonder if I am not coming across as I intend. This is the kind of thing that is behind the writing of this thread.

Being called a troll does not "hurt my feelings" so much as it makes me wonder how I am coming across to other CC members.

A troll is someone who knowingly-and-deliberately tries to "stir people up", cause problems, etc. - to be a menace. The idea of me being a troll is so far from the truth... I consider myself to be a fairly "laid-back", respectful of others, caring, etc. kind of guy. Something is just not adding up -- it doesn't make sense.

Every once-in-a-while, somebody calls me a troll. Knowing that I am not any such thing, it makes me wonder:

"Where exactly is the communications error occurring? Am I not communicating well enough, or are they just not understanding properly what I am trying to convey...? Why would anyone think that I am a troll???"

So, I thought to myself:

"I wonder what these people really think..."

So - here we are -- and, I am wondering what people really think...

What truly matters is what God thinks of you. Try not to worry about what peoples perceptions are because at the end of the day it doesn't matter tbh.
I am not really worried at all about what other people's persceptions are -- I am not basing my self-esteem on it. I am just wondering what those perceptions really actually are...

I am not "hurt" over it -- 'confusion' might be a better word to describe my 'quandary'.

Thank You!

This had not occurred to me, as it is not my way of thinking...

I would consider it to be extremely unfortunate if people have taken my little smiley face to be 'arrogance'.

Has anyone actually perceived it like this?

I think perhaps I will stop doing that for a while -- maybe it will help?

Hi Gary, I actually need to apologize for my remark as it was not very Christ like. The reason i believe you to be a troll is that even though you have been given more than enough evidence to show that earth is not flat you continued to show your(evidence) of it being flat and no matter how much anyone attempted to reason with you you were so stuck in your mindset that it seemed like you weren't even sincere in your theory and just wanted to stir the pot.

Perhaps you simply need to use a more accurate word...

People can be thoroughly convinced about something without intending to "be a troll" about / with it. Should anyone call you a troll if you are just as adamant about your view / position as another is about theirs?

If I believe in 'post-trib' - and, someone else believes in 'pre-trib' -- am I automatically a troll? are they?

If we both believe what we believe with sincere passionate resolve -- are we both trolls? ( hahaha - intended with humor )

If I believe the Earth is flat and stationary - and, you believe it is a spinning ball flying through a vast empty space -- and, no matter how much I attempted to reason with you, you were so stuck in your mindset... ( -_- ) Should I call you a troll? Of course not...

Keep in mind that - very often - it is those who cannot [ seem to ] discuss some-strange-and-unusual-idea-that-shows-up that cause the "biggest commotion"...

And, in an environment such as this one, there is no greater catalyst to produce confusion and / or misunderstanding than the incorrect use of words. That is why we must choose our words carefully -- so that we can communicate with precision what we are trying to convey.

In as much as you have posted the words -- apology accepted. ( I am a forgive-and-forget kind of guy... :D )

I was going to say, aside from the flat earth thing I don't think you're all that crazy ;)

I was going to say, aside from the flat earth thing I don't think you're all that crazy ;)

A little crazy in our diet is healthy, did you know some of the most famous and revered poets were insane?

I think it is wise of you to ask how you come across. That is how we learn and grow.

I have severe disagreements with your flat earth position. You do not think about what is said that contradicts your opinion. The facts prove you wrong and you are unable to accept them. I think that leads people to think you are a troll.

"I think" that if you held that view sincerely you would be more open to considering what is said. I have labeled you as either a troll because you keep arguing "non-sense" or as someone with mental issues because you cannot be rational about honestly evaluating all the evidence that is presented to you.

I am offering this in the trust that you are sincerely seeking to understand how you come across and I mean no offense by it. This is simply how I have "judged" you.

If this thread is sincere, I have more respect for you even though I disagree with you. Being concerned about how one comes across to others is a mark of maturity.
