Yeah that's good cuz I don't understand much in this world...it's all rather illogical.

Sometimes all we can do is trust God.

(and throw a pie at you..hahahaha)

Works aren't required for salvation, but they are required for rewards in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Works are kind of 'expected of' of every Christian, it's one of the fruit of being saved.

If you don't have any works, your faith is dead.
Welcome.

OK. So tell me this:
Are works REQUIRED or not? (after salvation)

I do believe this is what bothers some here.

You say if we don't have any works our faith is dead.
So do you believe works are necessary?

Do you think Jesus demands works, or requests them?

We can't control other people's behaviors. We can control how we respond to what is said to and about us.

God tells us what heavenly wisdom looks like.

I know we have spoken of these verses before:

James 3
17But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. 18And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

*****

I don't make peace because I am a peaceful person.

Folks don't always word things sweet and candy like..,that is not love or heavenly wisdom.

Love is wanting folks to know God's truth even if it hurts their feelings.

****

Seeing past the name calling and labeling
...I see two main positions.

1. Folks want others to be secure in Christ and have Him alone as their foundation. They want others to enter Jesus Sabbath rest. They do this out of Love for those who are weary and discouraged. Those folks who tried to run but really just need a break.

2. These folks are disgusted by the sinful world and want folks to be called out and set apart as God's holy people. They want folks to be a light unto others and actively seek sanctification. Their goal is to motivate people to walk with God and do good works for His Glory. They are the cheerleaders for those running the race. They speak to those who have rested and might be afraid to walk with God or feel unworthy to be a part of God's team. They too speak out of Love.

Then I see a third group, but we aren't suppose to talk about them.
The third group that most folks ignore, is the demonic forces of darkness. They look at the other groups who seek to do God's will. Who have His light and seek to destroy or dim or make them look foolish or cause them to fight with each other, instead of doing what God calls them to do.

No one wants to talk about this because it's easier to ignore the spiritual strongholds within one self and see the speck in another's eye then cut up the log in our own.

Everyone has spiritual strongholds that war against God's wisdom. They are in our flesh and are what causes us to sin. Before we were born again we had demons creating them and building them in our hearts and minds.

Some are easy to spot and some are not.

For example: greed and selfishness.

Most people think they have those sins defeated, but their roots go deeper than many people admit.

How willing are you to go out of your way to help someone?

How willing are you to give up your comforts of it helped another person?

Would you literally give your shirt off your back?

So the desires of the flesh get built up into a spiritual stronghold..like anger that is not given to God every night turns to bitterness and murder.

So there is this third group. The demonic forces that whisper lies.

They make strawmen and tell you that is what the other people believe..and folks swallow the lie hook line and sinker.

Then they build up what they tell you is "righteous anger" against the straw man and get you to attack..building you up and encouraging you with their lies, blinding you by telling you that the other person isn't worthy of Love and that you are actually protecting innocents from them.

This third group does it to both of the other two groups and then sits back and laughs.

The light is so dim....no one even notices anymore the person dying in the corner.

What started as love gets corrupted and trampled under foot.

But no one wants to talk about the third group.

If you do not understand sin, how do you recognize it?
I recognize God and all that is not of God is sin.

I would rather understand God than try and understand sin.

works are a gift of God to those who accepted our Savior Jesus who was sent as a gift of Grace....

those who dont accept Jesus wont have Works

but i dislike saying required
when i dont feel in my heart anything i DO adds to his gift

but if youre a sinner
that shows your fruit

i think we can fall but theres a point we become reprobate

and its like we took the gift
stomped on it
and gave it back

if you continue in sin for too long
despite his gifts and warnings

youre hell bound because you rejected his gifts

not because your works so much as... your spirit not being cleansed by the Holy spirit (also a gift)

i dunno please again to those who havent read my previous disclaimers

im going off my current understanding from what ive read in scripture

your works show your fruit

but dont EARN anything

Appeals to authority is a logical fallacy.

There is one truth God's.

I can tell you what I believe God's truth is and you can tell me what you believe God's truth is.

You hear the words eternal security and automatically build up this false doctrine strawmen you don't agree with in your head.

Can you tell me what I mean when I say eternal security?

I have told you, but were you listening?

So far the main objections to accepting the doctrine of eternal security is

1. What it means to fall away
2. Beliefs it leads to a sinful life style
3. Misunderstanding what the doctrine actually teaches or learning a false doctrine taught by a false teacher with the same name.

Are there more?
I believe you've misunderstood my post to you.
There is only ONE truth and it's not up to YOU to decide what it is.
THIS was my main point.

And...

I object to the doctrine of eternal security because it is not biblical.
And this is not my opinion, but that of almost all mainline churches,
and the opinion of early Church theologians --- whom I happen to trust.

You object to doctrine labeled eternal security. You have no clue what I refer to when I use the same words, but you stick to your theologians.

So much easier than actually listening and having a conversation.

For those who actually care...

I believe eternal security is the doctrine that teaches that God is stronger and more powerful than we are. His love can overcome all our sins, tear down all our strongholds and help us to walk with Him through His Holy spirit.

We may fall, but God will not give up on us. He will pick us up and set our feet on solid ground.

I believe that when God starts something, He finishes it,

God started our salvation with adopting us His children and giving us His Holy spirit.

I believe God will never disown us, even if we walk away He will still love us. He will still call for us and send us messages to come back home to His loving arms.

I don't believe anyone can wander too far away that God can't reach down and bring them back to Him.

I believe in God's sovereign power that he allows some to wander away on order to meet some of the lost in their journey and bring them back home to Him.

God has a purpose and a plan for the lives of each of His beloved children.

Those who "fall away" and are never drawn back in this life, only had the external blessings of the earthly church. They were never a part of God's family if they are never chastened for their sins. However we can't decide who is and who isn't part of the family. Only God can see into folks hearts and only He can change and rewrite their story.

Eternal salvation is only given to God's born again children who are sealed and lead by the Holy Spirit. Some people fool themselves and others and say they are among those counted by God as His, but only God and that person truly knows the truth of each person's statement.

God defines sin. In knowing Him, one should recognize sin; like Light and darkness. Someone saying we have no right to determine truth for ourselves is a deceiver, wouldn't you say? God wants us to know the difference. We are called to differentiate.

BTW, In Christianity we DO believe in one authority...GOD.

It is the subjective morality of our society today that does not believe in ONE AUTHORITY...

Aparrently so can us believers tare down strongholds with our love too... which also in my opinion must be another works that comes from the believer...

2 corinthians 10:4
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

(notice here it say the weapons we possess ).

You can't. Thats why we have to study and study, so we can have God expose that sin to us, And the worse thing we can do is think we do not sin, or just mess up once in awhile. Because then God can not show us the sin we have, because we will not be able to see it..
