How do you reconcile Exodus 20:12 with Luke 14:26?

Yes they are Colossians 2:13-15 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,14by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.
The legal demands of the Law are no longer against us, do we need to keep the commandments to remain saved, no. Do we love the Lord and our neighbors as ourselves, yes. because the grace of God set us free and our response is loving Him because He first loved us.
We are not free from these two commandments? Yet all the law, I'm talking Torah not 'rabbinical law' The Tenahk. Then you are keeping all of Torah law. So we're free from having to keep a couple hundred laws by keeping two. Is this right? Because as I say..All of the law hangs on these two commandments?

I believe that Luke 14:26 is speaking of us being sinful creatures. That we need to recognize and hate this about ourselves and everyone around us. Everyone is a sinful creature and needs to follow after Christ. We should detest and hate this sinful nature in everyone, even our own family members and yes even ourselves. It does not mean to dishonor or disrespect them. It does not mean to have contempt for them. It simply means to recognize they and everyone else in this world needs the purification of the Lamb. It’s the sin within all humanity and this world that is to be hated.

Let's look at the scripture in question....

I said nothing about the prophets writing the law..But they all wrote books of the Bible...right? All of the law, the Torah, and all of the books written by the prophets are based on this law in Matthew. That is to say. "The Law of Love" Did I say it better?

As a new believer I remember the pastor saying it like this. If any man come to me, he shall love less, his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, or he cannot be my disciple.
As to your other verse, if we're following after God first, we will be honoring our mother and father because it will be something the Lord will lead you to do because He's love.
But lets say for example's sake, Paul kept putting his family first and God second. Maybe his parents were very needy and poor or maybe very sick or disabled. How would Paul put God first and honor his parents at the same time?
God always provides a way. Paul could write to his parents from wherever he was and before he left, he could ask the church family to care for his parents while he's away spreading the good news, being obedient to the Lord and putting Him first and foremost before anything else.
Even before his own will and desires like the thorn in the flesh. He didn't leave God or give up on him because of all the sufferings and persecutions that came with being a child of God and especially an apostle that puts you out in the open, being bombarded with all the darts the enemy could throw at him.
I’m not sure if you’re saying that everyone needs to hate everyone…this does not seem very biblical to me. Jesus said in Matthew 10:34-37…
“Don’t assume that I came to bring peace on the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household. The person who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; the person who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.”
It is not about hating them, but loving Christ more than them. We must be able to follow Christ at all costs. There may be some members of the family who will not believe in Christ. We have to be prepared to put Christ first, potentially leaving them behind. Jesus is simply talking about loving Him MORE.
Why do all these pastor's twist the Scriptures, there is a word for "love less" it is "like" and Jesus did not use that word He used "hate" not "like".

So although we're under grace and not the law, we establish the law by not being law breakers......by walking in His love. And if we're in Christ, we'll be living that life of love.
Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. For this, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. Romans 13:8-10
Love fulfills all of the law. What a wonderful gift........God's love in us fulfills the righteous requirements of the law. Halleluyah!

I agree The legal demands of Torah are not on us anymore but..The Law of Love. Matthew 22:36-40 IS on us. That law, the law of love in the basis for all of Torah... Can that be any more clear?

The opposite of hate is love, people don't choose to be a disciple but Jesus chose His disciples.
No point, I should of did a jk instead of a LOL, it was supposed to be a joke. I'm not very go at this internet joking, posting or understand it. Someone LOL me and I replied to it and they said they were joking/kidding so I thought LOL the laughing implied joking. I'm just going to stay away from it, since I don't seem to get it or am able to use it. I'll just say what I'm trying to say.
