Hey Peeps,
Are there some things in your life that you just can't seem to master? Everyday tasks, hobbies you've attempted, musical instruments or sports that were an epic fail?
One of my own running jokes about myself is that I couldn't grow anything green if my life depended on it. Even the most "hardy" and "easy-to-grow" plants start to wither within my very presence, and over the past 4 years of trying, I've had all too many casualties to count.
A while back, a beloved friend came to visit, and brilliantly snuck 3 cuttings from a plant I'd never had before through airline security--by disguising it as a "salad" (she even sprinkled cheese on it and everything, lol!) Henceforth, I have named the little guy "Caesar". But... alas.
One cutting died off almost immediately
The second is giving me the evil eye, and I don't think that's a good sign.
The third is FINALLY getting some new growth, but I still keep myself emotionally distanced, preparing for the worst!!! I don't want to become too attached!
Sadly, the only thing green in my life is my own face--when I read about other people's lush, over-abundant gardens!!!
If PETA had a division of Vegetational Rights, I'm sure I'd be on their Top 10 List of Offenders. But much to the dismay of green-leaved critters everywhere, I shall keep trying!!!
How about all of you?
* What are some things you know you're notoriously bad at?
* Have you given up on them, or do you still keep trying? Why or why not?
* What other things are you interested in that you suspect you might not be so good at, but you'll still try them anyway?
Here's to celebrating all the ways... in which we are NOT gifted.
I guess it's just another thing that makes us unique.
