If God chooses who will be saved, and who will not be saved, without their input, then that would mean that all Jews would of been saved, for they were chosen to follow God,and the sins of the nation of Israel was atoned for once a year by the High Priest, and they looked to the Messiah to come, who would completely wash away their sins.

But the Bible says, not all Jews are saved,so why is that when Jesus, the Messiah to come, applies to them too,so the benefit is to them the same as the benefit to the saints in the New Testament, and they were chosen of God as a nation to follow Him.

God gave the Old Testament,if they did not comply, they were not saved.

God gives the New Testament,if they do not comply, they are not saved.

Creation testifies of a God that loves people, love God,and love people,so the world is without excuse,so all those who did not hear the word of God will be judged on creation, and their conscience, and if they complied they are saved at the end of the millennial reign of Christ when the dead rise to be judged, and those that did not comply, are not saved.

1Ti 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
1Ti 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Act 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent.

Rev 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Mat 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

1Co 1:26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.

God does the calling, and choosing on earth, dependent on the person's actions.

Heb 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

Rom 11:21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Rom 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

Jas 5:19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;
Jas 5:20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

1Co 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

Heb 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

Heb 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
Heb 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
God wants all to follow Him...and He does love the world.

However, did God chose all people to be prophets in the OT or just an elect few to take His Words to His people and the world?

Actually, by now you and 1of are doing fine examples of double-standards.

For the record I do not teach or preach that God sends anyone to hell. You send yourself to hell because the wages of your sin is death, unless you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead.

Reformers there is no nee dot try to convert, correct, admonish, or get me to change what I said above.

Thank you in advance.

Lynn, I have no beef with you. The one that stirs it up and spews venom, then sits back smugly and acts like a docile little lamb is preacher4truth. These are the ones I remember growing up around and what my Dad used to be.

And yes they are taught these things, your reformed circles may be different, and thats fine. I am not painting you with the same brush.

I do enjoy discussions with you whether we agree or not, so hopefully no hard feelings.
not in any way brother, not even in the slightest :) often when we disagree with one another, if we part in peace God will work in us to bring fuller knowledge either way. i think when we become bitter, it only Hinders everything that most all of us believe, and reveals our need for change ourselves. I also enjoy the discussions with you and find agreement and edification at different times, so I hope the same and trust that were all good :)

its always good for us each one to be peacable and mature toward one another, for we represent the Lord Jesus no matter who we are when we name His name . God bless you

Your church experience was awful, but don't let it color your eyes to what people are actually saying.

The reformed folks on this forum are not cut from the same cloth as your father and his ex-cronies.

Just because they use similar words doesn't mean they believe or teach lies.
Ariel,
I know the games and there are 2 here that are neck deep in the games and tell people its only rain, while they are putting their hands under hot scalding water.

I have no beef with Lynn and a few others, but 2 are reformed game players and 1 in particular is over the top.

See,that is what these radical doctrine "experts" keep denying. They have told us over, and over God does not choose some to go to hell.

Well how can you say one without the other?

Men's cleverness.

What I have been saying over and over, its a contradiction, and been called a liar for doing so.

God is fully sovereign yet man is fully responsible for his actions, the bible supports both views, that's why the reformed say man is responsible for his actions, what we deny is free will, as in, we can always freely choose good or evil apart from our nature, if someone is not born of God and doesn't have the holy spirit that person is not free to choose good, he will always act according to his nature, still he's fully responsible for all the evil acts he does, that's the biblical view, you can see a contradiction in it, but we start reasoning from God, and then down to man, instead of reasoning out of man's will, making God man's secretary merely responding to his actions, this is a key difference, God is proactive in chaning man's heart, so that man can finally please God through the holy spirit and belief in Christ.

It is only a contradiction and double talk because certain reformers cannot stand with courage and conviction on certain beliefs they say the hold dear like, double predestination, because it is impossible for their spirits to agree that an innocent baby would be sent to hell if the child were not elect.

Other hardcore reformers will tell people to their faces if the child was not elect the child went to hell and then actually ask you to join them for lunch and it is their treat.

The double talk comes from a severe case of insecurity, driven by the constant fear, am I elect or not!?

I was called every name in the book by one here when I said that this kind of fear is demonic. Then told I had no idea what the real fear of the Lord is.

Again not all reformers are like this, so I will not paint them all this way. By and large you know which ones are hardcore by their sheer arrogance and then playing the victim when the threat of being corrected shows up.

"For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose predestined to occur."

Predestination is true. Bible does not lie.

it doesnt

deuteronomy 30:11-19 "For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off. 12It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? 13Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it? 14But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.
15
See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; 16In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it. 17But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; 18I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it. 19I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live"

john 1:1-4 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."

john 8:51 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death."

john 17:1-3 "
These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: 2As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. 3And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. "

romans 10:8-13 "But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Please don't for an unexpected reason. Look at CS1's pinned thread about "hypergrace." For some reason he thinks Reformed is hypergrace. And, since he disagrees with hypergrace, we are already on a slippery slope for even being allowed to stay on this site, simply because we are Reformed!
Yeah. You're right. This topic has potential, but the hurting of each other has me distressed.

We all need to read 1 Corinthians 13 before engaging in CC! So sorry for the unloving post before.

I think any babies who die go to heaven because even though we are all born with a sinful nature, a baby hasn't yet reached the age when sin can be accounted for as I believe, so all babies go to heaven, happy now?

We are not (hopefully) playing cards with Bible verses, who has a higher card.

All verses must be true. Verses about choosing and verses about predestination, too.

If you read for example the molinistic view, God has seen a multitude of possibilities for universes, and has chosen this one so as to save as many people as possible, and damn as few people as possible, all done to protect the freedom of the will of the creature, not for the glory of the Creator or because of God's sovereign decree.

That's just an example, and I'm not saying people here are molinists, where there might well be some, it's just to show to what lengths men go, as far as making God their secretary, to preserve creature autonomy.

I am the one called molinist quite often here :) Any questions? :D

Non-reformed ones call me a calvinist, reformed ones call me a molinist... poor me. Nobody wants me.

You can't be a molinist and reformed at the same time, it's impossible, I saw the thread where preacher4truth mentioned what you said sounded molinist and I can see why he would say that, it's not that God looked and chose the best universe out of all the possibilities, it's that He created knowing what the end goals would be, He created everything with a plan in mind, and that's why I also say Jesus atonement for our sins wasn't an afterthough to the fall, what people call supralapsarianism is where my beliefs land, the bible says:
[h=1]Revelation 13:8New King James Version (NKJV)[/h][FONT=&quot]8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Can you clarify why it is impossible? And what is the Biblical problem with the best world view?
