I would say to focus on Jesus and his love for you. Ask God to help you and rest in his love. Don't strive to earn God's acceptance. If you have believed on Jesus( his deity, death and resurrection), have trusted in his work on the cross for salvation and have received Jesus, then you already have God's acceptance. Why strive for something you already have?

To be honest, as long as there is no malicious intent (Trying to convince others to have sinful thoughts) then go for it. There is no such thing as Girls clothes or boys clothes in the eyes of the lord, just kind of what society deems it. You only have one life, so live how YOU want to live and how you see as right. A sin isnt a sin unless you have doubts. If this is something you feel deep in your soul that is alright then do what you feel is right. Who cares what you wear.
I have to confess that I belong to the pro everyone minding their own business camp. Think of this in terms of the new commandment. Are you hurting anyone by what you do? Do you intend to hurt anyone? Could you hurt anyone?

Well, you might cause offence if someone of weak faith found out, so be careful.

The question is "Why is the commandment against cross dressing in the bible?" I'd be prepared to place a small wager that if you investigate it you will, at the time of writing, find that it was in some way connected with exploitation of young people. The bible gives us principles and leaves us to work out the details for our world.

After all there is no command, "Thou shalt not tweet or update facebook during the sermon." The general principle of not upsetting other people applies.

We are not better but we are different. We are dead to the world, and alive unto Christ. This person started this thread years ago (2014), but the battle for the mind rages on doesn't it?

After all the changes that took place during the 1970s, a large group was left without a word to describe themselves: heterosexual males who wear traditionally feminine clothing. This group was not particularly happy with the term "transvestism", and therefore took on the term "cross-dresser". Cross-dressers are men who wear female clothing and often both admire and imitate women, but self-identify as different from both gay men and transsexuals, and generally deny having fetishistic intentions.

In some cultures, "transvestism" is practiced for religious, traditional or ceremonial reasons. For example, in India some male devotees of the Hindu god Krishna, especially in Mathura and Vrindavan, dress in female attire to pose as his consort, the goddess Radha, as an act of devotion. In Italy, the Neapolitan femminielli (feminine males) wear wedding dresses, called the matrimonio dei femminielli (marriage of the femminielli), a procession takes place through the streets, a tradition that has pagan origins. Are those that are placing their minds in Christ, moved yet by their spiritual emotions, as to the problems being red-flagged here? This is the world, by definition.

So, as we talk about this it must be established if they are even a follower of Christ or not. And then I would ask if they say they are a follower of Christ, "How does the emotions of your spirit react to the facts here?" Like any idolatry it is fashioned to not please God, but rather, please self. God shows us freedom not disingenuous to obligation, but is free from the world's take on thinking and is freedom from its control and influence over our acts of obedience to that obligation which frees us. (Proverbs 1:7) says, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge."

I would have asked this person: "Are you seeking Jesus, as a verb in loving Him, asking Him to open up your understanding of what is best for you?" It starts in our hearts being set in Christ relationally, but it also means we must place our minds in Christ as well; based on that love relationship. Again, I would have asked,"Do you practice placing your mind in His Word, and memorizations; hiding His Word in your heart so that you may not sin against Thee?"

We need to "everyday" submit our minds to God and allow Him to shape us; which becomes also a verb as we live. (versus us, by way of Him, shaping ourselves; becoming a noun in our walk with Him). David describes the Word as a "Lamp," bringing light to dark paths (Psalm 119:105). I would ask, "Do you value the Word this way, as in conjunction with where you are looking to head?"..."What do you want? Who do you say Jesus is to you?"

If one is really asking the question here about this subject, and not simply using it as a platform to ease their anxious mind apart from Christ, ending up attacking those who are pliable to His Word, We see a pattern of living here in Scripture that would help us all. We need to (re)order our minds upon things of God. (Colossians 3:21); calls us to "Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth."

Historically we see trouble brewing don't we in what things are being practiced in view off this subject that go contrary to the things of worshipping God. I would ask, "How are you applying (Colossians 3:21) to your life?"

To me, it means we study the Character of God, as first, we were placed in His Character in innocence. This is the beginning of relational theology, a right relationship with God thru Jesus on a Cross. As this relationship starts I am hit with the revelation of the fact we have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live but only Christ lives now in me - and God starts our walk, (He doesn't end it there; He starts it).

For we, then, must also take that revelation and act it out in walking in this world. Then, we accepting with the facts of the Cross lay down our right to ourselves at the feet of Jesus on that Cross. Then, and only then, is our position in Christ, unrelated by our works, which God and Christ has freely given thru grace, can become real in our experiences as well, as a life that has been transformed..

So, I digress.... if we are now living in the spirit and not in the flesh, (volitionally by choice), the bottom line is: as we simply allow ourselves to get to know God more intimately in discovering His Character He will call us thru clear messages intuitively thru that relationship via the Holy Spirit speaking to our spirit and not our brain (first), and His Alive and Active Word will deepen our relationship with Him as He asks us to do something, and we need only do it immediately; that being His will and purposes and intentions. As we continue in this righteousness, (or proper relationship with God and Jesus relationship) we will search and seek after things He values.

So, I would have asked, "Is your mind troubled over this, chaotic, prone to constant swerving?" This is the results of a person not rightly aligned with God regardless of the answer to any question. Satan, however, delights in this and blames God for you being in this state of mind. In (Ephesians 4:14) Paul warns us against becoming, "tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes."

Instead, we are to be "rooted and built up in Him (the Person; His Word being a reflexion of that) and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. (Colossians 2:7). Thus, I would ask, "Are you thankful to God over all things He is in you?"

Our culture's continual glorification of what is logical to the world but is diametrically opposed to Spiritual Truth should not discourage us from taking up the task of submitting our minds in humility to our Creator because we can be assured that He will use us for His glory in the world. As a result; His Joy becomes our strength. As we mature, even not feeling His joy will not deter us from being steadfast in Christ, not being tossed by the winds of the times, or over-run by the worlds systems and thinking. We will be able to stand in our heart, and in our mind (volitionally), and in our body as God will provide a way in His victory; making it our own (radically transformed).

This took all of God and Jesus to offer us in grace, and it takes all of us to follow Him and love Him above all else. It's not magic, but it is Supernaturally real, and shows it to be so in our lives..
:).

Dude you are really cool. Thanks for that post.

Correct. The reason why things are sins is because God wants us happy and on the correct paths in life. To not hurt ourselves, others, and his word. Some things are understanbly sinful. Like thinking about sex with someone you arnt married to. That makes sense. You become dependant on those feelings and it hurts your psyche in the long run as you do not appreciate real relationships as much. You grow more and more distant to what it means to be truely happy (Understanding love and togetherness as opposed to sex). Say, if you were meant to settle down, you will see how amazing it is an no flings in the world could top it. Being strong at will HELPED you. Not only that, but a fling could hurt your partner and give them incorrect views on love and life. So you need to ask, how am I hurting anyone with this? Am I wanting people to hoot and holler at me? .. A little.. shoot, guess I wont do it. Do I want people to have unclean thoughts of me as a woman? Yeah, its flattering.. Well.. darnit. In that regards its the same as you dressing like a sexy man to attract women. That's just as much of a sin as crossdressing to attract men. You are hurting other's in the process for the same reasons. I feel thats why Cross dressing has been deemed wrong for so long. It's been a minority of people doing it, and because the ones who come out of the woodwork are the most passionate, those are the ones who were trying to get men to flirt with them and are like "Forget God! I do what I want!". So I totally see why it COULD be deemed a sin, dont get me wrong. But not because you like pretty dresses or you want to play a girl in a play or play powderpuff football.
I wear pants as a girl because I like pants. I wear basketball shorts when exercising not to attract men, but because they are functional. I wear t-shirts with Star Wars on them because I love Star Wars. I am not a sinner for that.

Some people spend too much time looking for things to condemn. It's called the "spot it and stop it" movement.

What I find fascinating is that I am on writers discussions, education discussions and once a discussion group about explosives. Only on the Christian groups do I find this sort of *****y condemnation. Why is that?

I am reminded of the rugger team (that's like American football, but with more chance of a life-threatening injury) that kept a completely useless player to lend to the other side if they were one short, thus guaranteeing a win.

If satan can't get rid of the church all he can do is encourage people to call everything satanic, thus making most people think he doesn't exist, and to become flat earthers and the like, thus making the church look like a bunch of useless idiots.

The world is being molded into the likeness of satan because he rules this earth. We can say "well I guess I can't do this or that then", and chuckle as if it were impossible to do or unrealistic to avoid because that thing is so "normal". But you fail to se your enemy and his devices...satan made these fun and good feeling things normal in today's world..he made sin normal...even star wars...even games that get you to cross dress and seem harmless. This is a spiritual war and battleground we enter into each day..and the war is against fun and happy things...things that make you happy...satan made it that way to make it normal...satanic things arent just bloody rituals anymore...they are cartoons...movies...games...traditions...holidays...they are everywhere. Set yourself apart if you want to be on His side. Period.

I would think something's wrong with me if I felt "compelled" to do anything considered worldly.

I believe it's a sin to get homosexuals to look at you as if you're "available". That would actually promote their behavior & their agenda.

When you see a crossdresser, do you know if he/she's not gay?

Would this promote gay violence against you? Folks won't stop & ask you before beating you to death.

Obsession with wearing the opposite sex's clothes isn't normal. There may be a deeper, underlying problem.

Do you really think you could win souls wearing that? If it hurts your witness, it's definitely wrong.

The scriptures says do not conform to the world. Whether or not it should be labeled as satanic is debatable. However just because the world label it as "cosplay" doesn't automatically make God ok with it.

Well Im in the "preach the Gospel do what God tells you to do camp". You're free to do what you wish of course. I dont go around telling crossdressers they are in sin,but if they come to my church they are going to hear it is sin,and if they ask me they will hear the same thing. And if you love someone you will tell them the truth.

I think you have been touched by God in seeing the Spiritual worlds opposing views, and you are right in supporting the biblical perspective of the 'Worlds System,' including things, many Christians haven't even considered in satan's control. Most Christians can see the Facebook connection readily easily, but who thinks of the School Districts as apart of the 'World's System?' (Or satan run)? But we must be careful too, for I know God can walk into the world and control the environment, I can serve God on Facebook, but it is going upstream is all, and I mustn't become apart of its influence, in other words.

Our Lord's sentence of judgement clearly implies that everything that constitutes "the world' is out of line with God's purpose. His words, "Now is the judgement of this world," clearly imply the condemnation of all that goes to make up the (kosmos), world, and would never had been uttered if there were not something radically amiss with it. Further when Jesus goes on: "Now shall the prince of this world be cast out," He is stressing not merely the intimate relation between satan and the 'World Order' but the fact that its condemnation is linked with His. So, do we acknowledge that satan is today the prince of education and science and culture and the arts, and that they, with him, are doomed? Do we acknowledge that he is the effective master of all those things that together make up the World System?"

When we mention a brothel, or a youth bar party, our reaction as Christians is one of instinctive disapproval. To us that is 'the world' (in a nutshell). When, however, to go to the other extreme; Medical science or social service are discussed, there may be no such reaction at all. These things command our unspoken approval, and maybe even our enthusiastic support. And between these extremes there lie a host of other things varying widely in their influence for good or bad, between which we should probably none of us agree on where to draw an exact line. Yet, let us face the fact that judgement has been pronounced by God, not upon certain selected things that belong to this world, but impartially upon them all.

So, we must guard our hearts also from thinking satan made anything evil, while allowing our transformed minds to see things as they are in Spiritual truth. We must be balanced in this for satan only has the power to pervert that which God has made, which has not been already in God's judgement of the world.... thus happiness (or feelings) God has made, and we need to understand our emotions developed in the old man must die, for they are dead, but the emotions of our spirit must actually live brightly! For these things are of God rightfully renewed over the dead version; although always diametrically opposed to satan's point of view; and substituted with his version which will always still lead to death, God's versions are pristine in how God meant them to be in worship to Him and our relationship with Him in innocence; as was meant in the first place.

So, to make anything outside of Christ our seeking first over Him is a sin, by purely being mis-aligned, but there are more things in principle that can also be in things that can only be wrongs changed to the same wrongs. But in many things once we align ourselves rightly with God and follow His will, He will turn many wrongs (perverted rights), into pure rights (Spiritual truths). If He offers us joy in a properly aligned relationship, we certainly should fellowship with Him in it, (notice how Scripture says His joy) worshipping Him. So, we are not to live in the perversions of God's things made, nor live in things already condemned to death in the things of the world, and things of the anti-god spirit..

We are not to love the blessings of God over God Himself either (satan's tricky one). Thus, why the Scripture indicates that all things outside of Christ is a sin. But in Christ, He has freed us. But Scripture says in that freedom - not all things benefit us, in consideration of living a righteous life in purity. Thus, we are to love God first thru Jesus, and receive all things He has given us with thanksgiving praising Him for doing so in (His allowances) and timing as we depend on the person of God thru the person of Jesus Christ..

But Amen to your points of distinctions my friend...Happiness, satan wants us to serve as a god.But there is only one Jesus, one God, and they are both persons not doctrines first, nor are we to follow false doctrines of perverted things..or evil incarnate.

Deuteronomy 22:5
5 “A woman shall not wear a man’s garment, nor shall a man put on a woman’s cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.
This raises an interesting question as to whether women who wear Trouser suits are cross dressing and therefore an abomination as well. Also if the clothing is made of mixed material is it a double abomination and if so which one is the worst?

There is no place for guilt in the life of a Christian. Jesus paid for our sins on the cross. Now, live by faith (Hab 2:4).
Sometimes people think that their current circumstances are due to past sin. That’s bad theology (remember Job’s friends?). One in Christ is a new creation (2 Co 5:17).
The apostle Paul said, “I know that in me, that is, in myflesh, dwells no good thing.” Ro 7:18. Weare: justified, sanctified and one daywill be glorified.
If you’ve offended someone than you need to ask for forgivenessfrom that person. You don’t need todiscuss your struggles with others whom you have not offended.
Jesus is your friend. He’ll get you from here to there. They mocked our Lord for being a friend of sinners (Lk 7:34).
He gets the last laugh.

God knows his heart. He'll either do God's will or he won't (Jn 7:17).
