starting a thread about acceptance and then judging three religions in the same sentence don't make much sense does it?

in response to the rest, yes many conversations here get heated, but it is not about putting others down, it is just that sometimes when people disagree, they end up choosing their words badly :) I hope you'll stick around for some friendly discussions in the bible discussion, there are many nice people here :)

Peace be upon you [As'Salam Alaikoum]

I think you started the thread in the wrong place, this section is for those who wish to introduce themselves.

but to answer this question :
do u have the right to attack non christians?
"Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in God has grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And God hears and knows all things."
[Quran 2:256]

God hears and knows all things...'' Verily ! hearing, and the sight, and the heart, of each one of you will be questioned ( by God)''
Those who speak on that wich they have no knowledge, speaks in vain ... to them their deeds and to you yours...

but still, you are in the wrong section :)

Wrong! The Bible says.......He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 3:36

There is only one way to Heaven my friend, and that is through the shed blood of Christ.

Vicously attack. Wrong? Hmm, I don't know for sure. I do not think it is a good way to attract others to Christianity. No one is attracted to judgement, hatred, and non-constructive criticism. Instead, try simply stating why it is you who is right, and they who are wrong. Do not yell. Do not snarl. This is unpleasent. If you wish to steer away those that might be mildly interested, this is the best way. It worked on me for quite some time. Those that have no interest, and speak against it. Hellfire and ****ation, may be the rheteroic they need, but not the only rhetoric.

I could be wrong, maybe I'm a little bit more compassionate on this issue because of experience. Many Christians are very hateful toward those that are not like them. I have many foriegn friends. I have a very devout muslim friend in Damascus, he tried to convert me. I told him, that even if I did believe that Islam was correct, that would be cultural suicide in America. I have a bhuddist friend in Sri Lanka, she is very kind and considerate. Atleast I think she is bhuddist. She keeps sending emails about god though. I could be wrong.

I can think of one reason why attacking a religion that isn't christian or jewish could be justifiable, it happens in the old testament a few times. I think. I'm not certain. Then again, what about the Crusades? Where did that get Christianity in the middle east? One could argue that it greatly weakened Christianity in the middle east. Then again, it could of strengthened it in the long run.

I voted no, but I admit, that I may not be solely correct. I just know from experience, expressing judgement, hatred, and many other related emotions to a non-christian, that might be slightly interested, is a good way to deter that interest. Happens to me still. So much hatred comes from the "social groups" who go to church where I live, just because they are the locals and that's what their parents did. They then speak down to anyone who isn't part of that circle.

Jesus taught us to be humble, did he not?

Whoever humbles himself like this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Matt 18:4 RSV

Hello ,
You dont get it ,non christians have demonic issues. Attacking Demons is like this:
We as Christians have the right to demand Demons go back to hell.
We have the power to send them there from God.
Jesus told us how to do it in the bible.
Jesus told us to tell Satan to get behind us.
We are also told to tell Demons to go back to hell where they belongmin Jesus name.
People who are not saved and dont have Jesus in thier hearts are probly Demon possesed.
so If we do anything we should pray for each other, all people should all pray for each other.
If God sends us to attack someone ,it's for God to decide, like in Iraq or anywhere else.
Isreal is Gods people they are jewish people everywhere, they are Gods people.
Americans stand behind Gods People.
United States of America is on nation under God.
From Stuck
p.s.there are alot of Arabic people who follow christianty isnt there?

I cannot fathom that you actually believe the ignorance you are spewing out of your mouth! Just because someone is not saved does NOT mean they are demon possesed. You have no biblical basis for making that statement.

Well said, HumbleSaint.
Jesus said "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life"... no man-made religion will provide eternal life.

I think we do NOT have the right to 'attack' but sometimes, non-christians, get offended very easily when its not MEANT to be an attack at all, because our religious beliefs (or lack of) hit us to the CORE of who we are and we tend to take things very personally!

If a christian states, with PASSION what they believe and WHY to a non-christian, they shouldn't get offeneded as though it was an attack just because they might not feel that way themselves....its the inentions of the heart....a non-christian shouldn't be 'over-sensative' or intimidated by other's beliefs in spirituality as if they were a fan of a certain sports team, and the other wasn't.....

Sometimes, I just think what a non-christian claims as an 'attack' is a personal 'cop-out'...

Just sayin.....

I try not to talk badly about different religions, mostly because I don't KNOW that much about them- but if I say something that I believe, and it goes against a different religion, doesn't mean 'I'm talking bad about it'. Peoples opinions are often formed from LACK of knowledge or personal experience- fortunatly enough, opinions and HEARTS can be CHANGED!
