naw its not about trying to please him at all, thats kind of what others add to it.

the reason we are to strive to keep His words in the gospel, not the law of moses, but Jesus words he taught His disciplrs isnt about pleasing Him, its about honoring the price God paid for our Lives. when people quote a verse like this

John 8:32 "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" and then explain how see, jesus set us free were not bound by obedience, or were already done just rest ect. its ALWAYS a great idea to go look at whats being said

john 8:31-35 "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?34Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

you see the difference in accepting the context? Jesus is saying Keep His words within you, keep them in your mind and heart, because if we do that, well see all the many things hes saying about obeying and actually doing them. and His words have power. also, His words are full of Grace and assurance which is another reason we need to keep them oin us . when people are saying " we shouldnt put effort into following him, and make that a self righteous works argument, its directly contradicting the entire word of God. He says plenty of how were forgiven, were accepted , but he says even more about how to live a worthy Life according to His will, and thats the most important thing because He is the one who suffered in our place, was spit on, mocked, beaten more than once, flogged and then died an "excruciating" death to save us from condemnation.

He died for us, and also He calls us to live our lives for Him, in essence we Owe God our Lives for the shedding of Jesus blood on our behalfs. there is enough security, and also his righteousness is only imparted through His word, its why He says so often Keep my words, obey my doctrine, keep my commandments ect. hes not saying first keep every jot and tittle and then maybe ill accept you, or creating mindless meaningless hoops we have to jump through, Hes teaching us the way of Gods children, to actually live and live Lives of uprightness in Gods Eyes. Hes already proven How much He loves us, its a matter of whether we Love our ways more than the value of His Word.

there is grace because were not perfect, there is truth to teach us as we accept and follow, there is motivation to keep us from becoming complacent and falling backwards, there is mercy when we stumble and fall down, everything we need is found in the word of God, all because of what Happened at the end of the gospel. Jesus taught us to daily pick up our cross, because He was telling them already he would die for them on His cross.

resting in Jesus for instance includes taking upon us His yoke, learning from Him, thats where the rest is found for our souls. Hes not a dictator but the gospel includes

2 corinthians 5:14-15 "For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 15And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

were followers abd thus disciples, He is good because He teaches us as were able to walk in things ten years ago, i was living a terrible life, never considered myself Lost because i didnt Know what i know now, as we follow His words, He makes more and more aware to us that we are commanded to walk in, just like children, learn and grow, and a 15 year old, has duties, they arent still learning about cleaning thier room, or washing thier hands or things a 5 year old is being taught, the 15 year olds are being taught how to drive, about adult responsabilities, being taught how to be an adult, but the 5 year old is just learning how to be a 5 year old. its all between the believer, and Jesus, the only rewuirement is for us to take His words as He left them for us. and they do include serving Him, those who serve Him are called freinds

No person says Jesus is Lord but by the Holy Ghost.

Many are called but few are chosen.

Confess Christ-led by flesh.Some people make out the consequences of sin as fun,and exciting,to enjoy fleshy pleasures,but that does not hinder them from being able to inherit eternal life.

Confess Christ-led by Spirit.Some people make out the consequences of sin as hindering them from being right with God,and obstructing them from inheriting eternal life.

And as far as legalism does not trust God so it imposes rules does not make sense,for if we confess Christ,and repent of our sins,and receive the Spirit then it is our responsibility to want to abstain from sin,and be Christlike,for God will not twist our arm to act right,and that is the only rule that we adhere to,and if they have a problem with that,then it is terrible,that they think abstaining from sin,and being Christlike,is a bad thing.

It says..Therefore, there is no longer any condemnation awaiting those who are in union with the Messiah Yeshua. Why? Because the Torah of the Spirit, which produces this life in union with Messiah Yeshua, has set me free from the "torah" of sin and death.

I do believe that a Christian who maintains faith in Christ is absolutely secure, however it is ridiculous to ignore all the warnings of the dire consequences of being caught up in sin and turning away from Christ. God would not have all those warnings in the bible for no reason. Example, a Christian who stumbles and sins and immediately repents is secure in the Lord, however a Christian who sins, and then sins some more, and more, at a certain point they will loose the sense of wrong doing and in time they can very well reject Christ altogether. As sad as it is, this kind of thing does happen, that is why the bible tells us first of all to stay away from sin, and then if we do sin then immediately repent and continue in faith in God. Sin is a scary thing in that the more that is done the more natural it becomes until one day the Christian wakes up and realizes that he does not really want to be a Christian anymore. To sum this up, when Paul said that it was possible for himself to become a castaway, he was not just filling a place in his letter. It is dangerous to assume that no matter what you do that you cannot become lost because this encourages the flesh nature to have it's way( why not enjoy the sin of the flesh all I have to do is repent sometime later).

Currently, however, New Testament textual critics generally agree that there are three main text types or “families” of texts, with the possibility of a fourth. The main families are Byzantine, Alexandrian, Western, and possibly Caesarean.

The majority of Greek manuscripts, both uncials and miniscules (in other words, the Majority Text) are from the Byzantine textual family. This is the text type from which the Textus Receptus was developed. Textus receptus means the “received text,” or the text that has been accepted universally as authoritative since about 1624. It was essentially that published by the Christian theologians Erasmus, Stephanus, and Beza. The Textus Receptus was the source for most early English versions of the New Testament. These, in turn, influenced the compilers and translators of the Authorized or King James Version. its not a universal standard in the gospel, a new believer who Knows little needs to walk according to thier Knoweldge, a believer who has much knowledge, is accoutable for much more.

when we share with each other gotta make sure of this principle. each has His own relationship with God through Jesus, one is a youngster, another is an elder. so we need guard against forcing adult things on a child. God bless you

Of course the AV1611 site would support that addition of the words in the text, as the King James Version is also known as the Authorized Version.

I guess it's okay to add to Scripture, according to some.

One of the reasons I like the KJV is because words added by the translators appear in italics, although not all additions as evidenced by the words who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit in Romans 8:1. However, just because the words in Rom 8:1 are not italicized does not mean they were not added. It just means the words appeared in the text from which the KJV was translated. There are other manuscripts which do not include the words.

The sons of disobedience are the ones that refuse to receive Christ. Paul is saying not to act like them because you are now children of the light.

This does not say that Christians sealed with the Holy Spirit go to hell. That is a man-made doctrine. Jesus is NOT a liar - He said the Holy Spirit will be in us forever. John 14:16

I think a major point here is this scripture does not guarantee we will remain in Christ, but if we do, during that time there's no condemnation.

While at the same time, the other folks who point to the context, you then begin explaining things contrary and why we need the gog lenses that only sees the verses that make the context void, It's a dangerous path my friend. One should feel secure in the things Jesus said, there really is no need to only accept a handful of them, because that drastically changes the truth, and seems to be a blindfold to so many

Nonsense Jason - you just don't like what is being preached about the saving grace and love of God and your church teachings are making you blind to what the gospel of the grace of God in Christ has really done for us. I encourage you to ask the Lord about it. He will be faithful to you.

I believe that the Holy Spirit knew what He was doing when He had Paul write 1 Corinthians.

Some of them were going to temple prostitutes for sex, they were taking each other to court, they were in divisions and strife, they were not treating the poor amongst them right...etc.

Paul was saying that those in Corinth were acting like mere men and men of flesh - in other words not being spiritually minded.

1 Corinthians 3:1-4 (NASB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ.

[SUP]2 [/SUP] I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able,

[SUP]3 [/SUP] for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like mere men?

[SUP]4 [/SUP] For when one says, "I am of Paul," and another, "I am of Apollos," are you not mere men?

I noticed that in verse 1 Paul says that they are "babes in Christ".

- not that you are going to hell because you are sinning. Or that because they were sinning - that they are not born of God.

There is a massive difference between church discipline to protect the people and the Lord sending you to hell as can be seen by the letter Paul said to the 1 Corinthians.

Paul told them who they were in Christ...then corrected their behavior...he didn't say you were all unsaved now or that because they were sinning that they were not born of God like some people try to teach.

( without understanding the new creation in Christ - this "sinning" part will throw people off because they don't understand what is being done by giving in to the flesh and what the new man is Christ really is. )

Paul told them who they were in Christ...Here are 7 things that Paul confirmed as truth in the believers in Corinth before he went on to correct their behavior.

1) The Corinthians have been sanctified in Christ Jesus,

2) The Corinthians were now saints by calling

3) The Corinthians in everything were enriched in Him,

4) The Corinthians had the testimony concerning Christ was confirmed in them,

5) The Corinthians had that God will also confirm them to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ

6)The Corinthians had that it was by Gods doing that we are in Christ ( Not our own D.I.Y. self-righteousness and holiness )

7) That because the Corinthians were in Christ - Christ Himself became to them wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption

I see a good thread and then the SINLESS one pushing his SINLESS rhetoric.....so, Chris....do you keep the law 100% of the time 24/7/365 days a year...YES or NO, Do you 100% of the time DO everything that the scriptures require to maintain a SINLESS state...YES or NO.....??

The understanding the circumcision of the flesh and of the heart also called the circumcision of Christ is paramount to growing up properly in Christ.

This is why some have a hard time understanding why the new creation in Christ is 100% righteous. This is why some stumble over 1 John3:9 and 1 John 5:18 which states that the one born of God cannot sin. Jesus keeps the one born of God because He is joined as one spirit with us by the Holy Spirit whom Jesus said would be with us forever and He is NOT a liar. we can trust His words to us.

1 John 5:18 (NASB)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.

Jesus was the first born and we are one with Him because we are in Christ. He is the One born of God that keeps us. We don't go in and out of Christ because of sin as we can see Paul says that they are babes in Christ when he was talking to the Corinthians.

Now though we have this treasure ( Christ Himself ) in an earthen vessel.

Christ is the treasure - get our true identity right and the good things of the treasure of Christ that is in our hearts will come forth. Walk by the spirit and we will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh to do "it's" desires.

Getting our minds renewed to the truth of Christ's work for us is paramount IMO in order to walk out His life that is in our new hearts and through us to manifest His love and grace to others that need to know Him for who He truly is.

The understanding of the circumcision of Christ where the new creation in Christ is "cut away" from the flesh is a life changing revelation of the wonderful awesome work that our Lord did when we died with Him on the cross and rose again to being a new creation - joined as one spirit with Him for eternity - sealed by the Holy Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead.

The truth is that Jesus has already saved us from our sins. If we don't know that - then a lot of the good news of what Jesus did will be a blurr to us.

We will end up searching for sin in our lives constantly and I have news for all of us. There will be sin in our flesh until we get rid of theses bodies.

We will be constantly trying to clean up the flesh but the only way to not fulfill the lusts of the flesh is by the Spirit in us.

Since I saw the Lord's work in His circumcision of the inner man in Christ from the body of flesh - I have lived a holier life then I ever dreamed possible because I know where those thoughts are coming from now - my flesh and I am NOT in the flesh but "in the spirit." Romans. 8:9-10

That is why the circumcision of Christ is imperative to understand in order to grow up in Christ.

Abraham's circumcision was a shadow of being circumcised in Christ now from our flesh. We are cut away from the flesh and our inner man of the new creation - our new spirit created in righteousness and holiness in Christ.

What do we do with the old flesh that is cut away? We throw it out and you can not have it put back on as it is dead. The same goes for our spiritual circumcision in which our flesh is cut away from our inner man - the spirit where Christ dwells.

We are completely sealed by the Holy Spirit within our spirit in our circumcision in Christ.

Understanding spiritual circumcision is important to get a revelation of the new creation in Christ now and to the understanding that our new hearts are pure now because our heart and Christ are one spirit - created in righteousness and holiness - by the incorruptible seed of God which abides forever.

When scriptures talk about the circumcision ( cutting away from) of the heart and of the flesh - it is 2 sides of the same coin.

Romans 2:29 (NASB)
[SUP]29[/SUP] But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God.

Colossians 2:11 (NASB)
[SUP]11[/SUP] and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ;
