Discussion to figure out if saved and born again mean the same thing. I say no based on the verses below.

Born again comes by the word of God. It is the "mind" of Christ in us, our inner sinless man.

1 Peter 1:23 KJV
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Saved comes from confessing the Lord Jesus and believing God raised him from the dead.

Romans 10:9 KJV
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Add a third dimension to the discussion: Is being saved the same as going to heaven?

I am outta here. This dumpster fire just makes my blood boil.

I used to be a KJVO and believed other versions were corrupt. But I praise God He led me out of that heresy.

If they were born again, they would have been absent from the body and present with the Lord. They would have been new creatures in Christ. But they were not since Christ had not died and resurrected as of yet. Remember, the Holy Spirit would come and go from those OT saints. The Holy Spirit found no permanent residence until the NT was put in force through the death of the testator Jesus Christ.
Not even your beloved KJV teaches this.

I can relate to KJV in this...though I was never an atheist.

I had an experience that I believe is the new birth. Jesus became my Lord.

Then a few months later, was baptized in Holy Spirit. Perhaps that is what he is calling coming into the kingdom?

I see in scripture that there is the Spirit of Christ. Then there is the kingdom of God within. Walking in kingdom ways is our salvation here on earth.

Resurrection hit on the completion, IMHO.

According to Titus you are incorrect in your experience.

Tit 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

One event not separate events according to scripture.

The body does not go to heaven only the soul/spirit. You cannot have a place in heaven if you are not born again/saved by grace having your sins atoned for through the blood of Christ on the cross.

You cannot enter under the rule of God without being born again, and once you at under the rule of God you ARE born again,

once your burden of sins have been lift from your soul by true confession and accepting Jesus as your Lord and savior, you are now born again, and only Jesus can lift them from you. your burdens are lite . you then become a new creature in Christ. Fresh and clean from past sin.they will never be remembered again.

I think you will find that heaven is what our lives turn into when we repent of our sin (Matt 4:17).

With some emphasis on a few words:

John 3
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

[SUP]4 [/SUP]Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”

[SUP]5 [/SUP]Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

So now, the point comes to what is the water referred to?

a) For those born of the Spirit can see.
b) But to Enter requires both water and the Spirit

And there is a distinction between (a) and (b) but virtue of the fact that one "sees" whereas the other "enters".

All those in (a) had a natural birth anyway. So the explanation for water being natural birth cannot be the real explanation.

So ---- what is the "water" referred to? Herein lies the clue. For we know that "salvation" will mean to "enter"

The authors weren't inspired? Srsly? Utter nonsense.
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Scripture is inspired and God preserved His Scripture through men writing it down.

My main concern is that if you persist in this philosophy this will be as close as you ever get to heaven.

Mr 8:37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

God gave the law, Moses copied it down to preserve it. The words were inspired by God.
