right, and that to me is an important part of the "cross" to Know what Jesus did for us, how greatly he suffered to bring us to God, should win our hearts to God and create a willngness to surrender our will, to His. His will is very simply in His words and to Know His will...
romans 12:1-2 "
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
paul says so much about our service such as this, that its just so unbelievable how a do nothing doctrine became so popular and accepted. the osas belief, there are so many things that show us what to do and how to do it, yet the idea is " do nothing just rest in the cross" truly i thought i had missed something but im thinking the corss was what i knew at 5 yrs old " Jesus died for my sins" maybe just me, but because He died for my sins, that means i owe Him my life. and will not take my hand from the plow until i cant lift it anymore, to honor Jesus for the price paid for my life
Plowing land aint no joke either. I know it worse for them back then but even the small walk behind plows today are a workout.
Luke 9:62New International Version (NIV)
62 Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”
We must count the cost before starting to plow. Yes it will be a workout but the end results are worth oh so much more.
Luke 14:27-35New International Version (NIV)
27 And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.
28 “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? 29 For if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you, 30 saying, ‘This person began to build and wasn’t able to finish.’
31 “Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Won’t he first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? 32 If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace. 33 In the same way, those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples.
34 “Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? 35 It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; it is thrown out.
“Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”
