Because he says that saving faith is what saves and will produce works, the works is the FRUIT but Jesus is the Root....how does that message get lost?
Because they cannot get past themselves..........funny.....I say the same thing and get accused of saying the exact opposite......

2 Corinthians 4:2,5 Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use DECEPTION, nor do we DISTORT THE WORD OF GOD. On the contrary, BY SETTING FORTH THE TRUTH PLAINLY we commend ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as LORD, and ourselves as your SERVANTS for Jesus’ sake.

1 Corinthians 2:1-5 When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, SO THAT YOUR FAITH MIGHT NOT REST ON MEN’S WISDOM, BUT ON GOD’S POWER.

1 Corinthians 1:18-31 Christ the Wisdom and Power of God For the MESSAGE OF THE CROSS is foolishness to those who are perishing, but TO US WHO ARE BEING SAVED it is the POWER OF GOD. For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”

Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him,

God was pleased through the foolishness of what was PREACHED TO SAVE those who believe. Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.

It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.”

1 Peter 2:8,15-17 and, “A stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they DISOBEY THE MESSAGE—which is also what they were destined for. For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the IGNORANT TALK OF FOOLISH MEN. Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; LIVE AS SERVANTS OF GOD. Show proper RESPECT to everyone: LOVE the brotherhood of believers, FEAR God, HONOR the king.

Gods Word says.....

"Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?" (Mark 8:18)

"Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. "And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them." (Matt 13:13-15)

"Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not: Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it? But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone. Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that gives rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserves unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest. Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have with held good things from you. For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that set snares; they set a trap, they catch men. As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich. They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge. Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this? A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?"
(Jer 5:21-31)
Irrelevant post.......no one here teaches a child of God will not have works or produce fruit.....so...what is your point other than to think you are correcting people who do not need to be corrected....

It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that BELIEVE<----what part of this verse do you not understand....

Your version of the bible...

It pleased God to save them that earn it through works.........

Either GRACE or WORKS.....

FAITH plus works to GAIN or KEEP salvation = lost

Those who interject works into their initial belief have trusted into a false gospel Galatians 1 and 3. A gospel that has no power, is double cursed and equated to being foolish and bewitching the ones who trust it......A lost man cannot understand the word.....seems simple enough....just saying....!
Those whom interject anything into the Gospel transforms it into a bewitching doctrine.

That includes eisegesis.

Do you believe this verse Ariel or you also reject this?

John 6:28-29 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works god requires?” Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to SAVE THEM THAT BELIEVE.....

It seems obvious you do not understand believe...........

just want to take a moment ...

all of us need God...

without him we would choose sin every time

we may even be too blind to see it...

if there ever comes a time where you repent
this is because God called you
and revealed to you the truth

if you start to walk different
this is the holy spirit guiding you

and if you make it into heaven
Jesus paid the price IN FULL....

the reason there will be no sinners in heaven

isnt because only great people qualify

its because a holy and loving and mercyful perfect God provided a way for broken people to enter into a kingdom we dont deserve to be a part of

praise God
i hope everyone here is convicted of every sin and turns from them

but dont think for a second that means you deserve anything but hell fire

The gospel is the "good news" of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) and is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that BELIEVES.. (Romans 1:16)

The gospel is not a set of rituals to be performed or a code of laws to be obeyed or a check list of good works to be accomplish as a prerequisite for salvation.

The gospel simply sets forth Christ crucified, buried and risen as the Savior of those who believe/trust in His finished work of redemption as the ALL-sufficient means of their salvation.

Simple....his Jesus is weak and cannot do what he said he would do.....his version proves a lack of saving faith..... Galatians 1 and 3
And please tell me what is his version?

"
The LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him." (Exodus 15:2)

"I can do all things through him who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13)
"God who equipped me with strength and made my way blameless. He made my feet like the feet of a deer and set me secure on the heights. He trains my hands for war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze." (Psalm 18:32-34)

"No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." (1Corinthians 10:13)
"Whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen." (1 Peter 4:11)

"But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth." (2 Timothy 4:17)

God bless you

A works based salvation for sure.....Salvation is BY faith VOID of works...it is a ONCE for all act (verb tense, scripture and verbiage must be rejected to teach otherwise) and NONE of us have stated that we should do nothing after salvation.....so......keep trusting works....I will trust JESUS.....my works are wrought in HIM and the result of saving faith and the eternal salvation I possess in Christ NOW..........

There are those that "say" we add works to our salvation.

Let me go "on the record" by saying nothing was added, we're simply obeying Christ our Shepherd as we're taught in scripture to..... and gladly so.
:)

Those that "say" the first statement are liars. If the Admins want to say otherwise, they can prove it. After all, exemplary behavior & responsibility IS expected from our Admins, yes?

That said, just because the majority says something doesn't mean it's true.

During WWII, millions of people quoted Hitler & believed he was a great man, only to find out it was ALL a lie. So we have history to prove the majority has been deceived in the past.

When a lexicon has been cherry picked for evidence, and dozens of scriptures contrary to a belief system are overlooked/ignored/explained away, there's something absolutely wrong with that doctrine.

When proponents of a doctrine have to use deflection on their opponents, and gaslight the readers against them, using fleshly means to win the argument, it says they have no spiritual ability, or they're spiritually ignorant and don't know how.

Either way, it ought to send up red flags.

When the opponents of this post start with their "stuff", that ought to send up red flags as well.

One shouldn't have to resort to using Satan's ability to prove a doctrine.

THE JUST SHALL L I V E BY FAITH.....not a one-time act as one propagandist has been copy/pasting repetitiously.

Every day we live, we live by faith, and prove that faith with fruits of righteous living. No fruit, no faith. No true repentance, no fruit. No conviction, no true repentance.

AMEN....they simply cannot understand that it is the initial act of faith that saves us, justifies us, seals us and sanctifies us positionally in Christ forever......PAUL was clear....ONE who believes faith starts salvation and then is made complete by works is foolish and bewitched........it is as plain as day.....faith and faith alone saves........any work, fruit that is produced is the result of the FAITH and SALVATION we already possess in Christ...........

what peter, Stephen, and some others seem to be saying is this- we are saved by faith through good works, and then if we have enough faith, do enough good works, then we get grace. now, this sounds good, makes sense, but, it is not Biblical.

by grace, through faith, for good works is what the Bible says, and it is said in different ways all through the N.T. some just choose not to see or believe it.

This in red is what I meant..... A purposeful twisting, injecting their own thoughts into what's supposed to be our belief system.

Pure lies.

Unrepentant liars have their part in the Lake of Fire..... that's what The Book says.

I have seen more than one person ask you specifically what you believe and yet to see you answer directly....HE said "SEEMS TO BE" what you are saying....NOT FOR FACT WHAT YOU ARE SAYING.....so.....why not enlighten us ALL with your knowledge and state plainly for the record what you believe....

Saved by faith alone that produces works

or

Saved by a pseudo blend of faith plus works

or

Saved by faith plus works and back flipping down the isle while singing 53 verses of Amazing Grace?

That is the essence of the false doctrine of "saved by works". It comes in many flavors and colors but it's core belief remains unchanged and it is a direct violation of the gospel of the grace of God in Christ's work on the cross and resurrection. It is always those that think our loving Father throws His beloved children into hell that come up with this doctrine.

All religions - including the religion of Christianity ( as there is a religion like this that tries to mimic the life of Christ ) - are really manifesting that they are eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil which has been set lose in this earth by Adam's transgression.

They are basing their life on what they do or don't do. They are attempting to establish their own righteousness by what they do or don't do. Good works are an example of this.

We see the "descriptions" in the words and actions of Jesus and in the epistles of what the true Christian life looks like when Christ's life and His fruit are being manifested. The religion of Christianity then takes these "descriptions" and tries to "dictate" to the believers the life of Christ or the fruit of the Spirit into being.

In essence they are trying to mimic or duplicate the life and fruit of Christ and at the same time "demanding" that others do the same thing or else they are not saved. The true Christian life is Christ Himself joined as one spirit with us manifesting His love, His grace, His life in and through us. It is His fruit - without Him we can do nothing.

All works-based - works-righteousness belief systems ( including the religion of Christianity ) have this as their core essence and it really nullifies the true grace of God from operating in our lives like it should.

This is the "why" behind when people say we must do "good works". That is what the fruit brings behind the work-for-salvation mindset and to maintain and create righteousness.

The reality is - as we behold the glory/goodness of the Lord as in a mirror - we are transformed by the Holy Spirit and the life of Christ will manifest itself in the doing of good works as the fruit of being in union with Him.

We do good works because it is a fruit of being in union with Christ not "to be saved" Christ alone is our Savior.

Preach and teach the love and grace of God in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and Christians will have the proper nutrients to walk out what already is within them - which is Christ in us - the hope of glory
.

We live by His life in us now - Christ Himself is that tree of life. Notice it is not the "knowledge of the tree of life" ( like it is with the other tree - the knowledge of good and evil ). We live by His life now.

It's clear that we are saved by grace through faith, not works, but FOR good works (Ephesians 2:8-10). What I hear many others teach is that we are saved through faith and works in one form or another.
