Yes. It is true that it is better to be sinned against than to sin against others.

Loving this world and the treasures in this world may prove to be a hindrance in any believer being willing to go when the Bridegroom comes and so both parties not willing to be give up the dispute, are at risk.
It is a hard thing to give up what is valued to a believer that you deem as unjust, but vengeance is the Lord's. And when it is a sinner, vengeance is still the Lord's, but we are called to lean on Him to be better than just letting it go & forgive.

I honestly have not begun rejoicing when persecuted. I am not sure how to apply that since doing it in front of the enemy will just make you look nuts and antagonistic as if daring the persecutor to make you stop rejoicing by attacking you some more. I am pretty sure it is referring to when we are alone or with other believers that share your suffering to rejoice.
I can rejoice in spirit by enjoying His peace in spite of the oppressive atmosphere I am under. At least being in this way, I look forward to the Bridegroom in taking me Home to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb above for He is my hope in all this.
