I am trying to get you to see that true obedience is in the New Covenant to believe in the gospel message of Christ and the forgiveness of sins and that this is being "obedient to the faith". From this obedience a believer becomes a new creation and from this new inner man follows God. Get this backwards and we create a religion.

I have shown you when Peter preached the gospel - that Cornelius and his household received the Holy Spirit when they believed the message of Christ - just like it says in Acts 5:32. This is "obeying God".

I see that you didn't once more answer my question . I'll give it again. My question is in brown below. I like to take people's religions for test runs to see what is really in them.

Quote:

Many times - those that believe our loving Father throws His beloved children into hell if they don't act the way some others think they should act and they try to use this scripture in Acts 5:32 to convey a totally different message then what the "context" shows.

So, the word "obey" is used really as a "code" word to try to tell believers in Christ that God will throw them in hell if they don't do everything that they think they should be doing.

Are you one of those people that believes our loving Father throws His beloved children into hell if they don't act the way some think they should?

Thank you and God bless you too! We have a great salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ and a good, good, loving Father.

I think LoveGodForever gets it Grace.
It doesn't take a Whole page, including a lesson in Greek, to understand what Acts 5:29 is saying.

Seems simple enough to me.
WE MUST OBEY GOD.

You know, like everything He said. Everything Jesus said.

NOT men. You know, like YOU, like Dcon.

Some crazy preachers I see on youtube.
What nonsense.

I call it cheap grace and easy believism.
Jesus did it all
We do nothing.
Cheap Grace.

FALSE........

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
Oh stop Dcon.

Do you think you're speaking to a new Christian?

Did you read my post no. 12742?

GO READ IT AGAIN.

You DO NOT create doctrine from one or two verses.
I though you would know better, having gone to seminary and all.

Know what you should do ?

Go to a really good mainline Church.
It might help you to see the truth.

BTW, JESUS told the parable of the Prodigal son.

It's a shame you don't believe Jesus and make Him out to be a liar, or even worse, crazy.

DID HE OR DID HE NOT KNOW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT???
I think He did.

Never said he was.....you seem to have no problem lying or misrepresenting the facts........and obviously don't know the difference between a question or a statement of fact
It's there for all to read by their very own selves cutie.

Sadly, you are listening to a false teacher, a very false teacher. Then because they do not understand the Gospel the blame cheap grace which does not even exist, since Grace emanates from God so how can it be cheap?

It absolutely makes No sense that Jesus would set the bar even higher than the original law and then expect that we could be saved by living out the beatitudes.

And then on top of that why did Jesus, God in the flesh, even come to the earth, He could have sent one of His prophets with the Beatitudes since we certainly do not need a Saviour since we now can fix our own heart.

You do realize that our righteousness is a "filthily rags to God Isaiah 64:6?" and the people in the old testament were justified by their faith and not the law. Have you ever read Romans?

Hi Willybob,

Yes, I agree with all you've said.
This is what I've come to call cheap grace. A pastor I know calls it easy believism.
Everything is made easy today. All one has to do is believe --- of course Jesus never said this, nor did the Early Church Fathers or Theologians believe this.

It CAN be true if one understands the word believe, as used in the N.T. it means exactly what you've stated above.
it means to trust and follow and learn from and do as that person does. It is NOT a simple believing of the mind or stating that, yes, I believe in Christ --- No, the believing must seep through into the heart and inner being of a person to the point that they want to BE LIKE CHRIST.

When this happens, that person will no longer argue about whether or not works are necessary. An argument that SHOULD NOT be necessary within the Church, the Body of Christ. it's almost blasphemous to be arguing about this.

I have often posted the Didache, but to no avail.

We have minds here that have been so brainwashed by cheap grace that they no longer even read or understand what is being said.

It's a sad state of affairs when we have to BEG the cheap gracers to ADMIT that GOD REQUIRES us to follow His Laws.
Jesus Himself said He did not come to abolish the Law; in fact, He made it more difficult to follow -- He brought it to heart level.

So if our HEART does not change, to the point where we can say that God must be obeyed, then what has changed?
NOTHING.
And Jesus demands internal change.

The state of our soul is not something we should fool around with....

This is what I've come to call cheap grace. A pastor I know calls it easy believism.
Everything is made easy today. All one has to do is believe --- of course Jesus never said this,
Jesus has said on numerous occasions on how one is saved simply by believing in Him.

That is why Jesus commanded His disciples to make disciples of other believes, because discipleship is separate from salvation as it involves teaching His commandments of what they are to look to Him for help & power to do in following Him.

The foundation laid by Jesus Christ can never be removed but the works thereon will be judged; anyone that has defiled the temple of God and has not repented before the Bridegroom comes, runs the risk of being left behind as a castaway.

The saved saints left behind are still His, but they shall become vessels unto dishonor in His House, and thus the least in the kingdom of God.

Easy believism for salvation is true;

Running that race also requires that same easy believism by trusting Jesus Christ as your Good Shepherd to help you to follow Him.

Of course, if you are using easy believism as used by mocking believers to live in sin, then that is hardly believing in Him for living that reconciled relationship with God thru Jesus Christ. The prodigal son have lost his first inheritance to wild living; he can never get it back as those who get left behind can never be a part of the firstfruits of the resurrection when once that door is shut because there is no second Marriage Supper of the Lamb in Heaven to be had.

Like Esau that lost his first birthright for something temporary, a meal, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, but that is why God is wiping the tears from the eyes of those saints coming out of the great tribulation to get past that loss.

There are vessels unto honor in His House and there are vessels unto dishonor in His House. Those that depart from iniquity, even former believers as they are still saved if they depart from that iniquity of unbelief, they shall be received as vessels unto honor in His House. 2 Timothy 2:18-21 & 2 Timothy 2:10-13

If the whole point of excommunication is to give them that are unrepentant unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh so that the spirit may be saved in the day of Christ Jesus, then God will do the same when the Bridegroom comes to find many not abiding in Him as His disciples by His grace & by His help for trusting Him as their Good Shepherd to finish the race; thus they become disqualified to attend the Marriage Supper and thus reprobate when left behind at the rapture.

1 Corinthians 5:[SUP]4 [/SUP]In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,[SUP]5 [/SUP]To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.........[SUP]11 [/SUP]But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.[SUP]12 [/SUP]For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?[SUP] 13 [/SUP]But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

So in that day when God judges His House at the pre trib rapture event... Jesus will get His lost sheep left behind.

1 Corinthians 3:[SUP]13[/SUP]Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.[SUP] 14 [/SUP]If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.[SUP] 15 [/SUP]If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.[SUP] 16 [/SUP]Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?[SUP] 17 [/SUP]If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

See what happens to a believer that does not prepare himself to repent of this spiritual fornication;

Revelation 2:
[SUP]21 [/SUP]And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.[SUP]22 [/SUP]Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.[SUP]23 [/SUP]And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.[SUP]24 [/SUP]But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.

So God will judge each believer according to the works built on that foundation; but that foundation was laid without works but by faith in Jesus Christ; easy believism.

It was easy believism in Jesus Christ as our Saviour in how we were saved; and it takes easy believism in discipleship in running that race by faith in Jesus Christ as our Good Shepherd because the just can only live by faith; not by works. So what we sow towards will cunt; the works of the flesh or the fruits of the Spirit which are by putting our confidence in Him to finish His work in us which is also to His glory and our thanksgiving to God the Father in Jesus's name.

It has to be easy believism for that is all a child can do is trust the Lord at His word; not just for salvation, but for following Him too.

Really, the pharisees were believing exactly the same thing and Jesus called them white washed tombs!
Thanks UnderGrace.
I guess I'm a White Washed Tomb.

You learned this name-calling from Dcon?

Instead of quoting scripture and sticking to a discussion, you like to insult people?
That's very nice of you, I'm sure.

So, what do YOU do?
You tell your neighbor you're a Christian and then you beat their cat to Death because he stepped on your lawn?
Is THIS a good testimony?

Do you ever think of what you say before the words come out of your mouth?
Was that insulting?
See. Doesn't feel good, does it?

Let me just say that every argument you pose in its final conclusion, or ultimately, nullifies the work on the cross.

If there was any work we could do towards our salvation then the death and resurrection of Jesus was not needed.

It is a grave thing to diminish, in any capacity, what Jesus has accomplished on our behalf.
I'm afraid YOU are diminishing the work of Christ.

You have much to learn.

You could maybe start with finding out what the atonement was for.
That would be very helpful.

I'd tell you, but I'm tired of wasting my breath.

But do please find out all on your own.

WHY DID JESUS HAVE TO DIE?

Couldn't God just be nice and forgive our sins?
Oh. And while you're at it, please come back and tell us the two differing opinions on the atonement.
The one till 1,000 AD and the one that comes after.

Here's a clue.

Oh. Excuse me.

I had asked you what BELIEVE means.

You've once again neglected to tell me what it means.

I do wonder why?

I'm able to answer all your questions.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT BELIEVE MEANS?

Maybe not. It wouldn't suit your silly belief system.

I agree and to interject self and works is to devalue, diminish and reject the finished work of Christ on our behalf.......Paul was clear....ALL who add works to faith to finish off salvation are deemed foolish and bewitched.....His sacrifice is sufficient and belief into said sacrifice is what God desires to obtain salvation......

My point is if believing repentance will keep me saved is a sin then is that a sin that i will be sent to hell for.. or will i just lose browny points becoz i also believe that faith keeps you saved...

Now am i sinning by saying This..

Its Jesus who keeps us saved after God has handed us over.... providing we obey his teachings Jesus says if you follow me and obey my commands i will know you are truly one of mine..

Jesus doesnt say here i will make you obey my commands or i will do the obeying for you...on your behalf..

He ask us to do that work for ourselfs..

Now looking at this from my point of view am i worthy of promoting a false doctrin on purpose and that i will go to hell for believing this..

or i am of the devil ?
Sin has been settled at the cross for ALL who have exercised saving faith into Christ. Jesus is the PAYMENT (propitiation) for the sins of the whole world.

Rewards are not equal to brownie points.....one's inheritance can be embellished and or diminished by service or a lack thereof....

Believers who sin and refuse to get right will be chastised by God...up to and including the loss of physical life, the loss of reward, and being unusable by God.

No where does it state that salvation can be lost...as a matter of fact Hebrews states it is impossible to lose and then be resaved.....SO>..

either one is eternally secure in Christ or if one makes ONE mistake they lose salvation, to never be regained and there is NO hope in Christ as ALL fail the Lord at one time or another.......

OH WELL AT LEAST THATS BETTER THEN CONDEMMING WORKERS TO HELL... i guess i should take heart from this
NO ONE is allowed to tell you that you're going to hell.

ONLY GOD KNOWS THAT.

The cheap gracers are Always talking about hell.
I do wish I could understand why.

Then they say they have this love for everyone..
They believe...
They follow Christ....

It sure doesn't seem like it.
I'm judging actions here --- not their souls.

to think to be true, to be persuaded of, to credit, place confidence in.

False dogmas condemn to hell....a failure to come the one and only true way condemns to hell.....not trusting JESUS biblically condemns to hell......so....what is your point bro.....?
False dogma does NOT condemn to hell.

First of all, you DO love that word hell.

Second of all, your doctrine is not what saves you.

Haven't you been trying to show me how it's JESUS that saves?

So, have you changed your mind?

What saves?
DOCTRINE
JESUS

Pick and let us know the answer.

(remember that if YOU pick doctrine and YOU have it wrong, it might be you going you know where)

No offence, but it does no good to engage you....you consistently reject all truth not hammered on your anvil and to be honest....you and I having dialogue is a waste of time as we have covered the legal implications of the words of Christ numerous times to only be swept under the table in favor of religion over truth.......
Are you talkin' ta me?

WHEN have you EVER seriously answered a question.
You have your little spurts that you like to spurt.

I dont' go for spurts.
You, nor anyone esle, has EVER explained what BELIEVE means because it would be to your detriment.

I've asked you and Others here to explain the atonement, but no one ever has.
This is because your side does not really know WHY Jesus died on the cross.

In fact, Grace is the only one who makes any attempt at explaining scripture.

Give it a go Dcon.

Explain the atonement.
The one before 1,000 AD or the one after.

I'll take either one.

Keep believing what you will Fran.....you and sponge want to trust your works and sinless perfectionism....have a ball.....Jesus could post the truth and you would deny it in favor of religion.......consistently proven by the truth posted by many......
You, my dear, have no idea what I believe.
YOU ASSUME.

And you know what happens to persons who assume.

And you're spurting again.
How about some scripture?
