James 2

[SUP]22 [/SUP]Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? [SUP]23 [/SUP]And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

When Abraham acted on his faith, the Scripture was fulfilled. Can you see that? Look again Mr DCON.

Sure.....before men....and I have read James...numerous times....the context is FAITH SEEN BEFORE MEN......not what justifies before GOD.....PAUL covers that in ROMANS and GALATIANS....
Show the scriptures. Make your case.

Faith is Action (Hebrews 11). Abraham was justified by works when.....?

James 2
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?

This also reeks of ignorance....making this about salvation....HEBREWS speaks to the faith that justified Abraham....it was WELL before he offered Isaac....man the more you speak it is painfully obvious that you do not know what your talking about.....

I have, as well as others...you just reject, embellish and then lie.....so.....James is clear....SHOW ME is the key....you reject this because JAMES out of context is your fall back book to your working for false dogma.....keep digging....and keep trusting self...

you and some others have been shown verses. have been explained to about how the Bible did not get divided into verses until around the 1300's. about how James, Paul's, Peter's , John's writings are letters not no be read in parts but as wholes, how to properly divide and connect Scripture.

you and others have been told and shown literally 100's of times, yet you do not seem to care, you only care to push the same old works-based dribble the most everyday.

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. ROMANS

For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.

Justified--δικαιοῦσθαι

dikaioó: to show to be righteous, declare righteous
Original Word: δικαιόω
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: dikaioó
Phonetic Spelling: (dik-ah-yo'-o)
Short Definition: I make righteous, defend the cause of, justify
Definition: I make righteous, defend the cause of, plead for the righteousness (innocence) of, acquit, justify; hence: I regard as righteous.

Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

justified--ἐδικαιώθη,

Ἀβραὰμ ὁ πατὴρ ἡμῶν οὐκ ἐξ ἔργων ἐδικαιώθη, ἀνενέγκας Ἰσαὰκ τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον;

Abraham the father of us, NOT BY WORKS WAS JUSTIFIED, having offered Isaac the son of him upon the altar.

Yep....Paul and James agree....a man is not justified by works....neither as Abraham justified by the work of offering Isaac.....

The works are the result of FAITH...it is the FAITH that saves and justifies.....the works are the result of something ALREADY possessed in Christ.........

Orig: from 1342; to render (i.e. show or regard as) just or innocent:--free, justify(-ier), be righteous. G1342

Use: TDNT-2:211,168 Verb

Heb Strong: H974 H2135 H6663 H7378 H8199

  1. 1) to render righteous or such he ought to be
    2) to show, exhibit, evince, one to be righteous, such as he is and wishes himself to be considered

This same word is used both in Romans 4 and James 2. Why are you trying to portray a different word in your post above???

Try again.

Here it says that God will never forgive people.

Deuteronomy 29:20 (NASB)
[SUP]20 [/SUP] "The LORD shall never be willing to forgive him, but rather the anger of the LORD and His jealousy will burn against that man, and every curse which is written in this book will rest on him, and the LORD will blot out his name from under heaven.
God is merciful and is a God of love & justice. Jesus is our mediator & inrercessor to the Father when we pray for forgiveness of the sins we have committed in the present while in the OT God deals with the sinners directly as He deem rightfully for being God. He will still blot out the sinners names from the book if they are not truly in Christ(in His body) or are just hearers and not doers, who rejects the truth that to believe in the one He has sent is the WORK He requires men to do and to love one another for it is the fulfilment of the law and the obedience to His commands is the love for God. If we don't do the works of obedience and faith then how can we say that we are in Christ and in the Father? Can your faith save you without LOVE? "GOD IS LOVE" (1john 4:8 & 16)

Look at how you twisted the plain scriptures above (in orange). You should be ashamed of yourself. In plain view of all here to see. You need to get right with God and repent of this twisting.

James 2
[SUP]14 [/SUP]What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?

From the above: Can faith without works save you? No
Can faith with works save you? ____________ (insert answer here)

Here's a little clue: [SUP]
17 [/SUP]Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
[SUP]24 [/SUP]You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

Hebrews 3
[SUP]18[/SUP]And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? [SUP]19 [/SUP]So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Disobedience = No Faith
Obedience = Faith

You say you have faith? Are you obedient?

there is no such thing as faith apart from works, so your question is flawed.

Abraham was declaired righteous before he did on work, all his work did was prove his S faith was not dead. And prove God was right to save him eternally when he did
