I believe when Jesus spoke to the disciples about the future end of Judea that He also spoke of the future end of the age and His return. It is easy enough to see that the first generation of the church probably saw these as one event, however there are clues in what Jesus said that shows that they were never the one event. To make it even more complicated, both events had some things in common. Here are a few clues, when Jesus told the disciples to flee Judea when they saw the armies of Rome coming, that was for that generation. When Jesus described His actual return He did not tell the disciples to flee but told them to stand their ground. There are certain things that Jesus said would happen in that generation and it is an historic fact that those things have happened, so those things were for that generation. OK, we have the disciples of Christ being told to flee Judea and that was for 70ad. Later in Revelation we have a symbol of Israel being told to flee to the wilderness, that could be the end of the age when the false prophet sets up the image of the Beast and demands that all worship him. There were two great events that were written about, first the end of Judea and the scattering of the Jewish people, second the end of the age when Christ returns. Whoever takes the position that it ALL happened in 70ad has to be wrong because some things have not happened yet, others who take the position that it is all future are denying historic fact.
all of GOD's WOTD spoken in Lower visible signs and representations were always pointing us to the HIDDEN and HIGHER TRUTHS of the ONE TESTIMONY of CHRIST
GOD knows our limited humanity
HE knows we need signs and shadows to understand what is invisible amd can only be known by HIS SPIRIT
And He graciously provided them
