And your sites? Do you have any cards to go with the illustrations? You used to teach. Could that school/learning center use cards to send home to parents or to advertise an upcoming event? Start thinking who you know, and who you know who knows others. Small businesses at first to build up your portfolio. And once you start having a portfolio, do what I'm doing. Find agents who represent children's book illustrators. The same agents who represent children's book authors represent children's books illustrators. (Half their client list is illustrators.)

Plan what's next, and keep this going. Build momentum, because you just started and I think you can do this.
 
Gotcha! I have several sites, actually way too many, that have my artwork on them. As far as a "professional work only" portfolio, that would only literally have like maybe 7 images all together. I haven't taught, I only really presented at a place but I guess that kinda counts.

Not sure what I can do with that. I really think God gave my dad this huge idea of a blog/journal series, so that may be the next project!

Steph, for your illustrations, pictures, etc, gather a good quantity of public domain images and sites. Their photographs are free to use, share and modify. I have several sites on my browser speed dial and will post them here later on.. :) It probably won't be today because I have alot to do, but over the weekend I will definitely post them. :)

Also, utilize free design resources sites. I have a few on speed dial, and will post those here also.
