Satan is prince, the Christ is king. The prince of the world refers to his dominion over the world, with the world being the lost. He has the world blinded, but we, the believers, are no longer blinded. The whole world does not mean everybody w/o exception. We are not under his control, but under God's control.
Your inconsistent hermeneutics are causing you to have inconsistent beliefs.

The term "gods" can mean judges and not as many take "god of this world" to mean Satan has replaced God in his sovereign control of the Earth.
.Satan is called the accuser for a reason.
He often judges people guilty and worthy of punishment.
By God's holy law, we are all sinners deserving death.
However by His mercy and grace, God sent Jesus to save us. He died upon the cross for remission of our sins. He nailed it to the cross so that Satan can no longer accuse us and condemn us worthy of death because we have been washed clean. Then we are given the Holy spirit to chasten and teach us to live godly lives and shine God's light in this dark world. Hopefully helping to lead people back to God and His love and breaking the chains of lies, sin and darkness that enslave people.
Therefore Satan is no more "god of this world" anymore than we are also "gods" or judges of this world as God's born again children.

The whole world does not bean everybody w/o exception . . . so when God through His inspired word tell us that the "whole world lies in wickedness"; "is in control of the evil one" . . . He doesn't really mean the "whole" world just unbelievers? . . and I am the one with inconsistent hermeneutics?
The believers belong to God - true. . . Does God "control" you? What exactly do you mean by "control"? (In all actuality, I don't think that I ever said that the devil controls US as a individual people but that he had dominion of the world.)
So do you also believe that this temptation is a lie:
Luke 4:5 Again the devil took him up into an exceedingly high mountain, and shewed him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; and said unto him, All these things will I give thee, if you will fall down and worship me.

Do you lie in wickedness? Are you under the control of the wicked one? If you're saved, you belong to God and are under His control. When you and I sin, it brings conviction? Why? We belong to God.
Okay, you're confused by conflating 'whole world' as it meaning 'everybody w/o exception'. Billy Graham is known throughout the 'whole world' but not everybody w/o exception knows he even exists. Satan's reign and influence is over the 'whole world', but not everybody w/o exception is under his rule. You and I are now in the Kingdom of Light.
And Satan is a liar. If he says something, its a lie. He no more owns those kingdoms that he could have given them to the Christ than I do.
Yeah Jesus said plainly His Kingdom is not of this world.
john 18:36 "Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
also why the world hated Jesus and hates His followers. also why the world is an enemy to God
james 4:4 "Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
The world is a temporary kingdom, Jesus rules an eternal Kingdom, rather God rules through Jesus the eternal Kingdom of Heaven. the world as we Know it is dying and darkening and will be destroyed.
1 john 2:15 "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him."
2 peter 3:7 "But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

things are not as they seem this present world was handed over to satan by mankind long ago, because man was given the earth in the beginning. this world and all that is in it is temporary Jesus is saving us out of it, redeeming us from the earth and the present world, and bringing us into His Kingdom that will never perish. or be destroyed. the fact that this world will certainly be destroyed is proof that it is not Gods Kingdom. he has Given satan a short time to rule over he darkness until the redemption of Gods people happens, Jesus is currently ruling His Kingdom and will always. Now is the time of judgement on this world until it is completed and then Will be destroyed. the Kingdom of God is at work redeeming Gods children from this daek kingdom even Now and Jesus rules Gods Kingdom always, rather Gods rules through Jesus who is the Lord and Christ, before, now and always.
understanding that this world is not our Home or Gods Kingdom is essential to understanding who Jesus is and where His authority is. God rules but His plan has order, there is a time when satan was given a kingdom and it was plunged into darkness that still is happening until the end and the redemption of all things. Gods Kingdom is not of this world. it saves those lost in this world, redeeming them to the immortal things of God through Jesus Christ His only begotten Son,
Nope, don't "lie" in wickedness? Nope, I am not under the control of the wicked one but I am at times tempted and at times, fall. I belong to God . . . He does not "control" me or MAKE me do anything (if that is what you mean by control). It is pretty easy to see this for God tells us that WE have to PUT OFF the old man and PUT ON the new man. We have to make a conscience decision every day to either walk by the Spirit or walk by the flesh. We have to make a conscience decision every day to walk in the light as he is in the light or walk in darkness.
When scripture speaks "the whole world lies in darkness" it isn't just speaking of individuals living in the world - but also the things that make up the world . . . ground, the waters, the grass, the skies, the things that Adam once had dominion over . . . the ground being cursed producing thistles and thorns . . . The creation itself WILL BE liberated from it's bondage to decay . . the whole creation as in the pains of childbirth right up to this present time, not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies . . . Oh, glorious day!!!
For 40 days Jesus endured the temptation of the devil . . . we only have a record of a few of those temptations. God saw fit to put those few in his recorded word . . . although they are just lies . . . I really don't have a response to this, except . . . Jesus was tempted in all things: For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. . . . For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Spiritually I have been transferred into the kingdom of light but I won't see that reality of that until Christ's comes back for his purchased possession, the redemption of my body and I am raised to eternal life to live forever with him as my King.

Temptation comes from spiritual strongholds within us that war against the knowledge and wisdom God teaches us through the HOLY spirit.
Temptation is also from spiritual forces of evil but that is not as often as some people think....mostly it's the lies we have heard from the world and believed (indirect demonic influences and not direct spiritual interference )
The Bible verse says that God is really the only true Judge but God has given us discernment.

I think pb is "tempted" now, to acquire the most inaccurate posts on this topic. It's been broken down every way possible that a 6 year old could understand....
I agree that temptations can come from within us - as I said our "old man" creeping in. What wars within us is the cross purposes of the flesh and the Spirit. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. Gal. 5:17
Since we are spiritual we can compare spiritual things with spiritual and discern spiritual things. We have the mind of Christ.
The devil is also called "the tempter". (Matt. 4:3; 1 Thess. 3:5)
Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. All temptation is of the devil,and only the spirit filled are tempted. A non believer, those that walk in darkness is never tempted because their desires is always to fulfill the lust of the flesh.Temptation is the devil's way to prove to God that many that have accepted Jesus is weak in the flesh and they will lust after what he put before them ,and will sin.If Jesus would have failed in the wilderness just once in the flesh, we would not have had anyone else to save us. He did not yield unto temptation, which means to slow down and look upon it. instead he nipped it in the bud by speaking the word against it., and not fulfilling the lust of the flesh. He accomplished all of that for us. We must do the same. That is why he told his disciples to pray in one manner only. "The Lord's Prayer" It will deliver you from temptation. Those are the words of Jesus.

I don't believe my "flesh" as in my body is evil and tempts me to do evil all the time. I see God transforming my heart and desires to match His.
I prefer the image of spiritual strongholds because then wen can demolish or tear them down like knocking down a tower of blocks or stomping on a sand castle...yeah still a big kid at heart lol.
I look at my thoughts, feelings and beliefs and compare them to what the Bible has taught me to be God's standard....I have found that I often get angry and ask myself why? Too often the answer is pride....so I walk through my thoughts logically and find the root to why I have issues and pray for God to help me overcome and defeat these spiritual strongholds.
For example, guilt over a past action can torment us sometimes. What I have found is to do what you can to make amends and then realize that God has forgiven you....is your judgment higher than God's that you refuse to forgive yourself? God doesn't want us to feel condemned. He wants us to learn from our mistakes and move forward towards His higher calling.

Your posts are spot on and your examples are great! Off topic is all of this ignorant rhetoric from the story of "Job being an 'allegory' ", "Jesus isn't King right now, but is WAITING to be", "Satan is free in this world without being under the control of the Almighty God", ... and so on. THAT, is being off topic...not to mention, heresy. Again Ariel, your posts do as they are meant to do, which is to Glorify our KING, JESUS CHRIST. The "SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY AND FOREVER".
