Yea that's what I said, a friend at work who is from the Philippines told me some folks bury the Balut for days to get it nice and rotten adds to the flavor. Ugggg

While I'm not from the Philippines or anything...Looks delicious to me and yeah the more rotten the better...It goes really good with cooked cabbage...lol

I miss steak and ale pie-Not strange food, but there is no such thing around here,

Head cheese- it's actually not THAT weird. It is a hog's head meat that has been boiled and made into a spread. It's also called souse. It's very good if you like pork. Bacony (in my opinion) and good on crackers. I guess head cheese is the ancestor of Spam. Head Cheese
