Strange food in your country

Well I just got an education on red eye gravy. Seemed a little strange
to put coffee in gravy. Lol

But I wondered what other strange foods we all have.
 
this may not be that strange, but in the southern U.S. , we love this stew called chicken mull. it is chicken breasts ground or chopped very fine, then cooked in milk with crushed saltine crackers.
 
I really want to try a fried twinkie. I know that you can find them at like county fairs and junk. Hopefully I get my chance one day : p
 
Poutine, traditionally made with French fries and cheese curds topped with a light brown gravy.

doesn't sound too bad taste-wise, but it might be a bit creepy if the food you are about to eat is staring back at you :p

I've never had it, but we have a traditional Norwegian dish called Smalahove, whic is basically a sheep's head, served whole (or half)
 
Some of the stuff around here that others might see as strange:


Blood sausage: (also known as Black sausage). Basically congealed blood mixed with a lot of other junk and fried up as a breakfast sausage. Never tried this one, but I don't really care to.

Lefse: Mashed potatoes mixed with flour, milk, oil etc. and fried like a tortilla. This one is AMAZING!! It is often eaten by spreading with butter and rolling it up. Some also sprinkle sugar on it for a dessert.

Lutefisk: cod fish aged in a lye solution which is then soaked off and the fish is cooked with lots of butter and other amazing things. But as my dad would say: "Rotten fish soaked in poison."
