St. Mark 7:14; and when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them. Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand. 15; There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him, but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man., if any man have ears to hear, let him hear..You can't defile the temple by smoking, which is the same body you live in. All the sinful acts that are forbidden using your body is defiling it. If a man destroys the temple of God he will God destroy. That means if someone kills a spirit filled Christian where the spirit dwells, God will, in turn, destroy that person. And if that spirit filled person destroys the temple, how can God destroy him again. The only thing that left is judgment.
Fundamentally we all dishonor God when we abuse all bodies. Our physical self is a gift from the Lord. If we neglect or abuse it, is that much different if a person gives you a gift and you then treat it shabbily?

I have been doing nutritional counseling for many years. I have found it is easier for a person to change their religion than their diet.

1COR. 6:19.
What? know ye not that your body is the TEMPLE of the Holy Ghost in you,
which you have of God, and you are not your own?

there are so many ways to glorify Yeshua, in our bodies and in our hearts - just read the Beautitudes'...

yes, we are 'bought' with 'A Great PRICE', but we must always be aware of where our personal comfort level
speaks from, how far have we come-away from our 'old-man, and what are we still allowing us to do, meaning have you or are you on the road to discovering where 'your WILL' is in your growth in Christ or
where His Will is, which should be our FIRST/ONLY priority -
are we in a true contrite state/spirit/submissive, only desiring to follow/obey The Holy Spirit's leading,
or, do I still realize that I am in the daily-'battle? oh YEAH, 'the daily-battle'...:)

we are constantly praying for the 'Body of Christ' and for those whom He is/and will be calling-out
day-by-day, as these 'last/end-times so speedily approach...

here is a 'scripture' that many/most, in or out of 'church', don't speak/preach about':

ECC. 7:17.
Be not over much wicked, neither be you foolish: why should you die before thy time?

You should start a thread about that... and teach folks what food to eat that are "Low Carb"

I know I could stand to drop a few punds and have been looking in to this.

It's funny, I asked God recently if He was calling me into the health and fitness industry or if it was just me. I believe His response was, "The world doesn't need less fat on their bodies as much as they need more love in their hearts."

Unfortunately we are being manipulated by a corrupt system that only cares about profits. There is so much confusion in the media about what is and isn't good for us. This is a distraction tool used to try and create an atmosphere of doubt. It's sad but our doubt is there gain and it's working. Btw The china study is a great book.

God has numbered our days. He knows the exact hour and even second....
We can't alter it. Only God can.

I say this as I've noticed the health movement trying to squeeze into Christianity, and while in itself a healthy lifestyle is not a bad idea, Jesus Himself told us to care not what we eat or worry about such things.

The reason why people do drugs,or smoke cigarettes,or drink alcohol,is because there is not a higher priority in their life to cause them to want to kick the habit, and it does not have that much of a pull on a person that they cannot deny it.

If a person is engaged in drinking, and smoking,as a habit, but decides they want to be in the best shape possible, and look as young as possible, and it is a great desire to them, quitting them habits is easy, and I mean easy, because their desire to be in the best shape possible, and look as young as possible, takes priority in their life to where those habits mean nothing.

The same with the doctor that says you better quit,or you do not have that much time left,to those who desire to stick around, and not perish, those habits are easy to quit, for that becomes a priority in their life that is above that of smoking, and drinking alcohol, and the mindset is determined to not do those things.

Or whatever is important to us that is a priority above our habits,we can quit those habits easily.

But a lot of people do not care about their health, and do not care if they do not look as good as possible,so they might struggle with habits, which is a strange thing to not care about your health, which eating good, exercising, especially weight training,is preventive maintenance, which should be as routine as cleaning ourselves.

People that are married might not care about how their health, and to look good, seeing they are only pleasing each other, and neither one cares what the other one looks like, for they both let themselves go,or were out of shape, and had habits to start.

I am afraid to get married, for I do not trust the person to take care of themselves down the road, and do not trust their personality will always be pleasant as when we first got married, for a lot of people do not care, and it is a risk I will not take in today's world, for even though marriage is supposed to be a team effort, sometimes they still think on an individual basis being selfish, controlling, and bossy, and then get 150 pounds overweight, smoking like a chimney, and drinking like a fish, and then say,you should accept me for who I am,which is not vaild because you are supposed to look as good as possible for your mate.

If people who claim Christ will not act like Him,how can we trust our spouse to do the right thing.

But back to having a priority higher than that of habits, and this one I do not understand, for God is against us abusing our bodies, for God did not create our bodies to be dogged out with our bad habits, and should not that be a priority higher than our habits.

They claim Christ, and say,I know it is bad,but do not quit, and the priority of Christ does not supercede the habits, which is strange.

If people have a priority higher than their habits it is easy to quit those habits, and why is not the priority of Christ greater than their habits.

So eat, live and die, Huh?
If everyone had that attitude the health care system would be a non issue.

Funny to me how people, and Christians included, say they are going to die anyway, so why worry about their lifestyle. So if you follow that line of thought, when they get sick, they should just accept their fate, hey their days are numbered, and die.

Yet those same people cry out to God for healing, desperately seek all medical care they can find to cure and prolong, even if the prolongation is at a cost of living a zombie life.

Didn't the King of Isreal plea to God to extend his life and God did; for another 15 years, I think.

Many say the same thing, our days are numbered, we are going to die anyway. But when the time comes their actions are in direct and stark contrast to their words.

Ha !

It amuses me and distresses me at the same time when Christians say "how can I expect them to"... alter their diets, and then go on to list a thousand reasons (99% of them are ridiculous and non valid) why they can't.

I know right then and there those people have exposed themselves as individuals who are not fully availing the power of Jesus.

A power which when exercised correctly is mighty and can overcome anything.

Hey J. D., I'd like to tell you about a book I found that I think you would enjoy reading, but I can't advertise it here. I think it will be OK to tell you the author though. He is Prof. Keith Scott-Mumby MB ChB. MD PhD and it is a diet book. He tells how normal foods can be toxic to certain individuals and tells the reader how to find out which ones are bad for them. I am only starting chapter 6 of 21 chapters and 3 appendixes so I still have a lot to learn and I have never studied dietary stuff before, but I find it easy reading.
