peace bro....I will only say this, yes you answered with this, but I asked you how this could when Paul said those under the law died under the law....and Hebrews says they did not have access to a better covenant based on better promises...you never answered this..

We do not need to go round and round...peace
Which chapter from Hebrew are you referring to exactly? Rereading the book now and haven't located it yet.

Sure they died under to law....Jesus himself was also born under, lived under and died under the law.....that does not change the fact that O.T. saints were saved by faith into the coming Messiah which was prophesied all the way back to Genesis 3:15....EVEN JOB....the oldest book of the bible stated that he KNEW his REDEEMER LIVED an that HE WOULD SEE HIM with his own eyes long after his body had been given to the grave and the worms....HE believed in and understood the resurrection....as well as DAVID.....how is it that you cannot see this line of faith woven throughout ALL of human history....do a translation from HEBREW on what EVE said when CAIN was born.....even she had faith based upon Genesis 3:15.......

JUST like HEBREWS 11 states...THESE ALL DIED IN FAITH......it is faith that saves......regardless of being in the O.T. or the N.T.
Genesis 3:15
And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.”

Bruise His heel speaks of a serious injury, but it is contrasted with the bruising of the head—the defeat—of the serpent’s seed. When Jesus went to the cross, He was bruised in His heel. That is, He suffered a terrible but temporary injury (John 12:31; Col. 2:15). In His resurrection, He defeated His enemy.

John 19:28-30
It Is Finished
After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

Matthew 27:51

Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split,

Thank you Jesus

You guys use this out of context example of fruit trees all the time. Fruit is not an indication of salvation...fruit bearing glorifies the father and proves we are his disciples...John 15.8

If you are an apple tree and have no fruit you are still an apple tree, but you will be cut down and placed into the fire,if you do not respond to the care Jesus gives you[Luke 13.6-9] and not because you did not work for your salvation but that you proved not to let God be glorified by making disciples...

This hellish lie that fruit bearing is proof of salvation is true. Fruit bearing is not proof of salvation. Now people are syaing because of grace fruit bearing is not even needed. Jesus disagreed big time John 15.8...
No actually it is biblical...day unto day utters speech....your problem with it is that it contradicts what you believe......now...instead of misdirection and all that you said....How about answer the questions bro....

Answer the following please

a. How many apples identify an apple tree?
b. Is an apple tree an apple tree from the moment it sprouts?
c. Is an apple tree still an apple tree for the 3 or so years it makes to bear fruit?
d. Is an apple tree still an apple tree is it has a good year and bears fruit and then has a bad year of drought and does not bear?
e. Is an apple tree still an apple tree if a bad late frost kills all the blooms and it does not bear that year?
f. is an apple tree still an apple tree if all of it's fruit is loaded with worms one year?
G. As a matter of fact....is an apple tree still an apple tree no matter what happens after it sprouts from seed it's whole life?

Must not be much of a God if he already did not know....Abraham was declared justified and saved by his faith....Paul was clear....and we men can see his faith was genuine based upon his actions which is what James speaks to....having said that...answer the following please

a. How many apples identify an apple tree?
b. Is an apple tree an apple tree from the moment it sprouts?
c. Is an apple tree still an apple tree for the 3 or so years it makes to bear fruit?

G. As a matter of fact....is an apple tree still an apple tree no matter what happens after it sprouts from seed it's whole life?

???

I would add,

Did the apple tree make itself, or was it made into an apple tree?

Found this...

Hebrews 6

13For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater by whom to swear, he swore by himself, 14saying, “Surely I will bless you and multiply you.” 15And thus Abraham,b having patiently waited, obtained the promise. 16For people swear by something greater than themselves, and in all their disputes an oath is final for confirmation. 17So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, 18so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. 19We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, 20where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

Is heaven the final destination?....not according to Revelation....

Your welcome

Wow dude,

I am amazed you just want to skirt the question

Let me try this, Since it seems all you want is to argue (please do not tell me you did not understand my question, if you did not, I have more to worry about you)

Would abraham had spent eternity with God, or eternity seperated from God if he died before he sacrificed his son (attempted to I should say, since your being very specific)

I actually agree with the article and what it is saying.

Especially this part

v
! It is about turning from one kingdom to another and continuing to draw away from the one kingdom into the other. The time that this takes to actually happen is not as important as making sure that God’s Spirit of salvation is actually happening within the convert’s life.v
Unfortunately you will twist this author's words like you do the Bible to fit you theology and falsely accuse people of teaching "a one time psychological event " when they don't.

You see your problem is with definitions.

Folks define salvation and sanctification differently.

If you believe God will finish what He started when you are born again, then when people say you are saved at that point it makes sense.

However if you believe you can lose your salvation, then salvation has to be tied at the end of life. How do people who hold this belief have peace or rest?

What the article talks about is sanctification and everyone agrees that is important and something God works in the lives of all believers...they just don't call it salvation.

But I forgot...this isn't about actual conversation to understand what others believe but just a platform to preach for you.
I fear that you don't understand that many here DO BELIEVE that salvation is a one time event.
That's what eternal security is all about.
I've become confused as to what you believe.
Do you believe in OSAS or not?

I believ that a person is saved as long as they have faith in Christ.
If they don't have faith in Christ, for whatever reason, they DO lose that salvation.
We are saved IN CHRIST NOT OUT OF CHRIST.

So, Burninglight if a person gets saved & is faithful for a few years, & decides to add works to his salvation, is this man severed from Christ?
Gal 3, If anyone preach a different gospel. Let him be anathema'd.

If a man moves from grace to works, He never really had faith to begin with, Otherwise, he would never have moved to religion to save himself.

Abraham was not saved under the New Covenant...neither was David, Daniel and others. I asked you this pages ago and you neatly side stepped the question<<<<<<meaning you never answered it.<<<<you neatly side step a lot DC...

Heb 11 tell's us that Abraham was not justified until he offered Isaac, that is when the blessings[partaking/enabling]of the promise of the inheritance was activated...NOW I KNOW....and NOW YOU WILL RECEIVE...

Wow man, SO how did abraham get saved?

Please tell me your not one of those dual theologians who think the OT was saved by law?

Hebrew 7
15This becomes even more evident when another priest arises in the likeness of Melchizedek, 16who has become a priest, not on the basis of a legal requirement concerning bodily descent, but by the power of an indestructible life. 17For it is witnessed of him,

“You are a priest forever,
after the order of Melchizedek.”

18For on the one hand, a former commandment is set aside because of its weakness and uselessness 19(for the law made nothing perfect); but on the other hand, a better hope is introduced, through which we draw near to God.

Sin was a gift really, I did not ask for it....did you?

“all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) sin entered the world through Adam, death follows sin, death comes to all people, all people sin because they inherit sin from Adam.

Let me ask you something.....

Can you by your own effort "out will" Sin or Death?

I'll be waiting.....

Oh by the way I do believe we cannot out sin grace (if we have inherited eternal life) and we are saved no matter what!

God may or may not choose to intervene in a person's life but that is His arena not ours to judge.

Grace will correct me if I'm wrong.

Grace believes that once someone is saved, they cannot lose that salvation NO MATTER WHAT.
I thought you knew this.

I do not agree with this and, quite frankly, it is NOT BIBLICAL, no matter what the new, modern thinkers think.
I won't be posting anymore scripture and probably will be having to leave here again soon.

I do hope you come to understand what Grace believes, and also Dcon and also EG, and Others.

Maybe this one?

Hebrews 8
6But as it is, Christb has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises. 7For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second

I don't know if burninglight believes in eternal security.

EG would say they were never saved in the first place, thus can't lose it.

I believe only the Holy spirit can say who is God's born again children. And that there will be a change in heart and mind that will lead to fruit and good works.

However they are saved as babes in Christ no matter the level of maturity.
Eg would also say that they can not lose it, Because God knew the moment he saved them their faith was real.

he is not going to save someone he KNOWS is going to walk away in unbelief a few years down the raod. Which remember, to him is not even a blink of an eye.

Think about it, If the blink of an eye is like unto a 1000 years How short is our lifetime in Gods eyes? Very small..

Just think, We are born, live a whole lifetime, and die, and not even a second has past in Gods time period.

So now you are going to tell us Abraham was saved under the new covenant?
When his salvation was paid for. Yes..

He was not saved under the old. No one was.

Romans 3:25

whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,

There is only one definition for salvation and sanctification.

Sanctification is tied into salvation.

Fran, when your kids were born..,,did it happens once or over and over again?

Would you expect the same amount of "work" or fruit from a 1 year old versus a 20 year old person?

Does maturity make a difference on whether they are your kid or not?

how convenient of a an answer....IOW....I did not know about this passage, so let me pull something out my back pocket....and call it a hankie when it is a waded up Kleenex

really EG, you are far better than this...
Really? You have to explain why God imputed his righteousness in Gen 15 based on the fact he Knew abraham had faith, then decades later, had to have abraham test his faith, Because God did not really know it.

Really, As I said, If you think God did not know abrahams faith, I have serious questions about what you think of God.
