How does one live as a follower of Christ when they are being attacked for being gay. Is it so wrong that God has made me this way? Yet you tell me that God is grateful for the way i was made. What have i done but be myself around you, open, honest, and respectful. I am now regretting my decision on becoming a Christian because of the comments i get. Do i just delete this site from my favourites page and forget that i ever came here? Because that's how im feeling right now. Hurt, destroyed....rejected; from the so called followers of Jesus.

I hate that you've been made to feel this way - I will say that you wont always getting loving, respecting and understanding responses from people on here, simply because we're all human and sadly many people can be pretty judgemental.
Please do not judge Jesus on how some of his followers may come across as, because the truth is we are all fallen sinners but Jesus just loves you, you won't be shunned by him

Some people lack the ability to put across the fact that they disagree with something without it sounding like judgement, truth is people here disagree with homosexuality for obvious reasons but they don't hate gay people.

If people are making clear offensive statements to you about this then you should report them to the website moderators as it's them that should be leaving not you, hate is not acceptable. There are many people here who would talk with you and give you friendship and support etc...if you stick around you might find some of them.

Blueteardrop, There are a lot of different opinions on this one. Here is mine. I think you ARE how God made you. I don't think anybody would quote choose to be Gay and face all the ridicule and challenges that may come with it. I was raised to be open minded and I think you have just the right to be a Christian as anyone else. You see, the bible does tell us homosexuality is a sin. BUT, it also tells us a WHOLE lot of other things are sins. The truth of the matter is, we all live in sin every day. We are not perfect, most of us do our best, but it is impossible to be a perfect human Christian being. That is WHY we are Christians. We are Christians because we have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Because, of this, we need Jesus, as he died for our sins. Anyone who judges you (if you truly are gay.. I think bisexuality is a choice) is an absolute hipocrit!! We are all sinners, and God says every sin is equal!!! Who are they to judge that you are a worse sinner then they are???

If you feel like you are not accepted have you thought of looking for a church where they may be other gay members? There are plenty of gay Christians, and there would be more if our churches didn't tend to judge so much (as you have felt). I have even gone to church where they are gay pastors (lets be real here.. is a gay pastor anymore hipocritical than a divorced pastor? I say not..) and maybe that would make you feel more comfortable. There may also be Gay Christian support online that you could find.

On behalf of all Christians, I am sorry. I am sorry about the way you have been made to feel. You are no different then any of us. We are ALL imperfect. We are ALL sinners. Unfortunately you were born with the stacks against you a little.

Man, i dont see why most people testifiy to be christians but when they see a gay person they automaticlly hate and or judge them!! Its no big deal!!! One of my best friends is a gay, so what!!! When it comes to gays vs. christians, I'm sorry to say that its often the christians who disgust me. Whats funny is that they just want us to accept them the same way that christians just want the world to accept them. If u ask most pastors, and I have heard the opinion of some well-known pastors, they will tell you that they LOVE gays, not hate them. What they hate is the sin, not the person.

Now u might want to bring up the OT where it says that gays should be put to death - well FYI, it also says that anyone who cheats on their spouse should be put to death (deuteronomy 22:22). If u believe the one is fair, u have to believe the other is fair too or u are inflicting a double-standard.

Don't bother listening to other Christians - it's obvious that you won't anyway - instead, you need to seek after God, to know and love Him. As you grow to love Him, He will show you what makes Him happy and what displeases Him. Then because you love Him, you will be willing to get rid of whatever he wants you to get rid of.

It's not possible with man to put away the sins that we love, but all things are possible with God.

There are two ways to preach to people, and it's dependent upon the mindset of the individual that you are preaching to:

Now, if the OP posted here speaking as a complete rebel against God, you would then follow the instructions in verse 23. But since the OP has expressed interest in following God, it's my opinion that we ought to be following the instructions in verse 22.

As well, let's not forget that a degree in rocket science isn't required to tell people what is, and what is not a sin. It does - however - take quite a lot of knowledge and experience with God to be able to tell someone how they might overcome sin. To condemn them is of no value, but to help them be free is a blessing indeed.
