People complain a lot about Donald Trump’s tweets, but I am reminded of this Bible verse:

You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain. Deuteronomy 25:4 RSV

That verse is talking about how we should not deny the ox the very food he is working on . You know Letting the ox eat some of the grain while it works.
It's not about some big mouth on his phone app
Blessings

I believe the verse means that when someone is working very hard for the Lord, don't nitpick at him.

No Paul uses the verse to show that the church should compensate the pastors and the like in the body of Christ in the NT .
the example in the OT means much the same . I should have expounded on that my bad .

I see it as a verse telling us that if someone is working really hard, let them complain a little.

I believe the verse means that when someone is working very hard for the Lord, don't nitpick at him.

i don't think that's what that means at all ((or that '
working very hard for the Lord' is particularly what the POTUS is up to)). that is certainly not the meaning implied, and not the context it's used in, in scripture.

perhaps you were looking for is

Where no oxen are, the crib is clean:
but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
(Proverbs 14:4)

that is, when you have oxen, they produce a lot of bull manure . . .
. . but they can do a lot of useful work.

((though again, not sure '
getting a lot of useful work done' is what's actually being accomplished. i would say the potential is there, because he doesn't appear hamstringed by such things as 'proceeding with care' or 'thinking things through'))

i think there's another adage about bulls, and stabling them in china shops, that may also be appropriate. but that one isn't necessarily about getting useful work done.

it's actually his wife who had indicated that as first-lady she intended to address cyber-bullying.
((but has done absolutely nothing in that regard since saying so))

really dropping the ball there, IMO.

You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain. Deuteronomy 25:4 RSV

this is 'a workman is worth his wages'

not 'it's okay to be wicked so long as the field gets plowed' - a sentiment i am not sure one can actually scripturally support? God is holy. there is probably a closer analogy with the Lord using the wicked Assyrians to punish the idolatrous nation of Israel.

how about this one:

There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword,
But the tongue of the wise brings healing.

(Proverbs 12:18)

or

A fool’s anger is known at once,
But a prudent man conceals dishonor.

(Proverbs 12:16)

Is it "bullying" when someone insults you, and you insult them back? Let's try to keep this in perspective.

Gosh, 150 days, and she hasn't accomplished it yet?

as far as perspective, let's remember that he arguably sits in the position of the most powerful man in the world. his spitwads are far more forceful than the ones from the kid in the back of the room, and should the speaker at the head of the class be shooting spitwads anyhow?

or maybe we should drop the perspective altogether: if a photoshopped picture of one person holding the head of another is '
cyber bullying' and inciting violence, isn't a gif of one person body slamming another the same?

fighting fire with fire burns the whole house down, but '
a soft answer turns away wrath' and 'remove the fuel and the fire goes out'
you and i have seen it play out in these forums hundreds of times; if one person acts rude and childish, and others respond the same way, the thread invites judgement and is full of sin. but if the person insulted reacts with grace, the first ones shame & error is immediately apparent to everyone and the thread can continue '
usefully'

but back to perspective, this is what we had in office a short time ago:

when the same thing happened at Trump's rallies, he called for goons to physically rough up his critics and have them thrown out, and proceeded with insults, riling up the crowd with animosity towards them as though they weren't 'really American' but his supporters ((and only his supporters)) are.

there is an obvious difference here, and i don't know that i'd call it '
good'

Totally missing the point because of your prejudice against him. Did you watch the clip or just see his face and jump to reply?

naw

I gotz all the points and the comments in between also

we just don't agree

I like and agree with most of what you have say though if that means anything

I don't care to have my opposite POV be called prejudice however

that is a door that swings both ways IMO if you want to go that way

jump to reply seems to infer I don't have the brain waves to comprehend the debate

mensa has not yet invited me to join, but maybe baby mensa will

Ha ha Trump is smashing them down
They deserve it
They deserve to be crushed into the ground
Don't let the boot off of their necks
Keep stomping these clowns

CNN ought to be humbled after the game they play
Making up their Russia fairytale
And putting it on for months every single day
Now they've been caught red-handed with this "Nothing Burger"
If Trump wanted to he could have them dancing a hanged man's ballet
