as far as perspective, let's remember that he arguably sits in the position of the most powerful man in the world. his spitwads are far more forceful than the ones from the kid in the back of the room, and should the speaker at the head of the class be shooting spitwads anyhow?
or maybe we should drop the perspective altogether: if a photoshopped picture of one person holding the head of another is 'cyber bullying' and inciting violence, isn't a gif of one person body slamming another the same?
fighting fire with fire burns the whole house down, but 'a soft answer turns away wrath' and 'remove the fuel and the fire goes out'
you and i have seen it play out in these forums hundreds of times; if one person acts rude and childish, and others respond the same way, the thread invites judgement and is full of sin. but if the person insulted reacts with grace, the first ones shame & error is immediately apparent to everyone and the thread can continue 'usefully'
but back to perspective, this is what we had in office a short time ago:

when the same thing happened at Trump's rallies, he called for goons to physically rough up his critics and have them thrown out, and proceeded with insults, riling up the crowd with animosity towards them as though they weren't 'really American' but his supporters ((and only his supporters)) are.
there is an obvious difference here, and i don't know that i'd call it 'good'
