Did you find the work and will of GOD in Hohn 6?

i did also mean John the baptism when he told those who believed what should we do...the scripture where he told the man with teo coats to give one away and the tax collector not to collect anymore than what was his due
I was asking where it talks about people who were "cut to the heart" asked John what to do

When the people were cut to the heart and asked John what works must we do,
**************************

yes, I see the work and will of God in John 6, Amen!

Let me give him some references to feed off of: The answer, Dan_473, to miknik5's question is: found in John 6:29. "The work of God is this: To believe in the One He has sent.

It begins with God's call. We could never even begin to seek God unless he had already found us. The whole initiative is with him; the ground and the moving cause of the whole matter is his seeking love.

It develops in our effort. The Christian is not called to dream, but to fight; not to stand still, but to climb. He is called not only to the greatest privilege but also to the greatest task in the world.

This effort is helped continually by two things:

1). It is helped by the teaching, guidance and example of godly men. God speaks to us through those to whom he has already spoken. "A saint," as someone has said, "is a person who makes it easier for others to believe in God." And there are some who help us, not by anything they say or write, but simply by being what they are, men whom to meet is to meet God.

2). It is helped by God himself We are never left to fight and toil alone. He who gives us the task also gives us the strength to do it; more, he actually does it with us. We are not thrown into the battle to meet it with the puny resources we can bring to it. At the back of us and beside us there is God. When Paul was up against it in Corinth, he had a vision by night in which the Lord said to him, "Do not be afraid...for I am with You" (Acts 18:9-10). They that are for us are always more than they that are against us.

This call and this effort are designed to produce two things:

1). They are designed to produce consecration on earth. Literally in Greek a thing which is consecrated is set apart for God. They are meant to set us apart in such a way that God can use us for his service. The result is that a man's life no longer belongs to him to do with it as he likes; it belongs to God for him to use as he likes.

2). They are designed to produce salvation in heaven. The Christian life does not end with time; its goal is eternity. The Christian can regard his present affliction as a light thing in comparison with the glory that shall be.
right, but the question was about people described as 'cut to the heart'.

I couldn't find that in John 6.

It would be more beneficial to first understand why a person can't love In spirit and TRUTH first.

Before JESUS died on the cross on our behalf, men were under the law and men were purifying the outward man but they were not able to purify the Inward man.GOD desires righteousness and wanted man to be pure In TRUTH.The children of Israel would try to keep the law by doing what the law said but they weren't sincere ,In other words, what they did didn't match theire hearts.

When JESUS came to earth HE magnified the law to the Spirit,(If any man look upon a women to lust he has committed adultery In his heart)
No one can be righteous before GOD except JeSUS.

So then If a person Is not In CHRIST then they are under law and already condemned.

So then the example would be a person under law and on their own were to have one sinful thought ,they would be disqualified. GOD will only accept perfection.
I believe the question was

Somone might ask,how does somone love GOD and their neighbor sincerely In truth and not just with words?
I gave the example of Good Sam.

What would be some other day-to-day examples?

certainly loving in spirit and in truth isn't opposed
to the Good Sam example?

Right! Acts 2, not John 6.

And it's Peter who answers

THE ACTS 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were

cut to the heart,

and said

to Peter
and the rest of the apostles,

“Brothers, what shall we do?”
THE ACTS 2:38

Peter said to them,

“Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

I believe this was the sequence of posts

When the people were cut to the heart and asked John what works must we do,

what did john say?

which passage are you talking about?

Dan?

read John 6

youll find not only the WORK of GOD. but as well, the WILL of GOD

I thought maybe you meant John the Baptist.

I can't find 'cut to the heart' in John 6.

which verse are you looking at?

Right!
Acts 2 is the 'cut to the heart' place,

Where Peter answers.

They received it well,

I think.

Several great verses to choose from

I'll pick these

ROMANS 2:26 If therefore the uncircumcised keep the ordinances of the law, won’t his uncircumcision be accounted as circumcision?

ROMANS 2:29 but he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit not in the letter; whose praise is not from men, but from God.

Amen to that!

2 CORINTHIANS 3:3 being revealed that you are a letter of Christ, served by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tablets of stone, but in tablets that are hearts of flesh.

2 CORINTHIANS 3:6 who also made us sufficient as servants of a new covenant; not of the letter, but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

I didn't answer your question the way you wanted because any person not born of GOD doing a good work
will not be righteous before GOD.:)Read my post again.:)

You're stuck in Romans 2 and you refuse to move forward even to just Romans 3 to understand that all have fallen short there is none righteous that the very law declares all unrighteousness that there is no one who does right and does not sin

therefore NO ONE...the uncircumcised gentile or the circumcised Jew will be justified by the law

and if they open their mouths before GOD...It will be their mouths which will condemn them

what did they want to bring before GOD?
what is it that GOD is not already aware of?

read Romans 3 and explain why a loving father to be just when HE judges will justify all those whose faith is in HIS SON?

(Or did you want HIM to pick and choose to by comparing one disobedient son over and by another disobedient son)
you are trying to trap me
but you won't be able to

When the people were cut to the heart and asked John what works must we do,

what did john say?

he didn't give an elaborate list of works
he just said do what is right

and when the people in John 6 asked CHRIST what must we do to do the WORK of GOD?

What did CHRIST say?
I was asking where it talks about people who were "cut to the heart" asked John what to do

Paul who knew the law better then anyone had this to say about the purpose of the law.

The purpose of the law was :

1) To reveal our sinful state - Rom 3:20

2) To inflame sin - Rom 7:8

3) To minister death in us - Rom 7:10-11

4) To lead us to Christ - Gal 3:24

The law is good, holy and spiritual but we are in the flesh. Jesus fulfilled all the law! When we read the law we should be seeing Jesus in it. Jesus did not save us so that we could go back to the law.

The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is how we live now, and the law of liberty in Christ Jesus and the law of love, the law of faith ( the Law is NOT of faith - the just shall live by faith ). The law of Christ - Himself is how we live now.

But the purpose of the law was not for righteousness or salvation at all, it was to manifest sin in our lives, so that the purpose of grace which is in Jesus is to manifest salvation. Grace does not set aside the law, but completely satisfied it.

Christians are dead to the Law, been released from the Law and are NOT under the Law. It can't get any plainer than that.

People are free to do whatever they want in relation to the Law - it does not make one righteous nor is it for salvation.

If someone wants to observe a particular day , festivals or eat or not eat some kinds of foods..etc - then they are free to do so. These have no bearing on one's salvation or righteousness as all that is based on the finished work of Christ.

It's where people are saying "You must observe these things or do these things in the Law or you are not obeying God" - that's where the twisting comes in and it is a perversion of the gospel of the grace of Christ.

This is an anti-Christ belief system religion which has the "appearance" of good but it is really denying the Lord Jesus Christ's finished work. Hebrews 4:10
As you can see this is not that kind of discussion. It is a study of the Torah, and needs to remain just that.
