I don't believe the world is flat, but I don't see how a thread or discussion violates the terms of use.

No.... the terms of use are listed on this site. Flat earth discussions do not violate them.
The notion of shutting down topics that some disagree with, is central to fascist, socialist, neo-liberals, communist, and democrats.

This is a little heat.

This is BDF

And as for defending the truth? Spending my life proving I'm right and your wrong has very little to do with "defending truth." It's "defending ego."

I haven't been on BDF since this morning, but I can guarantee at least 90% of that first page is full of arguments over side issues. Not God! Side issues. It's all either conjecture or what-do-I-get-out-of-God. And, seriously? Exactly how long a defense do you give when obviously no one is listening anyway? Has anything fruitful come of that arguing? (And fruitful is what we give, not what we get.)

Also, what's to apologize for if there is no intent to change? All you've said is "man up." Where is that in the gospel?
The bible is replete with scriptures calling for maturity, grow up, "ACT like men" and not to be so easily offended which is sure sign of spiritual immaturity.....let me guess....your opinion is right and I am wrong right?

People get really butt hurt when they find another doesn't agree with their beliefs. Must be a genetic mutation after WWII that caused peoples skin to grow thinner.
I don't really mind those opinions.... as long as they are followed by rational explanation. I also have a bit of a problem with all the proclamations of fact.......... stating a personal view as FACT that can, in no way, be disputed because THEY have declared it to be. (Of course, usually stating "It was the Bible that stated it... not me.") Which is a bunch of Bull, since all understanding of the Bible can never be anything more that the interpretation each of us renders from our own position.

Common sense is a flower that does not grow in everyone's garden. ;) And it doesn't even take common sense to know enough to use capital letters, punctuation and paragraphs so people will actually be able to, and want, to read your posts.. Your being general, others do it too.

The BDF is a lost cause..The owner leaves it like that because all the drama brings in revenue for the site..

j.m.o. - one big thing that would help the bdf- discuss. just discuss, don't accuse, don't lecture, don't tell others they are going to hell if they don't believe what you do, don't tell folks what is in their hearts and minds, don't name call.....

just follow the name-discuss.

but if someone's opinion is that all Christians are lunatics that should be put in an asylum bc we are all haters and whatnot?
(Been to a non- Christian forum where such threads kept appearing ... and were accepted and defended by the mods)
They are still opinions. Should they be allowed merely for the freedom of speech?
What if they are really extreme and feel a certain group of people should be wiped out?
Is "freedom" of speech still valid?
