In a way it can bring people who ain't close to the light to the light by sorting out all the bogus doctrines promoted by "futurism" and actually make sense of the bible rather than an unbelievable confused mess.

God is not the author of confusion.
I used to go on sites that unbelievers met up with believers. The same topics on this site were covered on those sites, especially eschatology. Know why? Because atheists can talk all they want about God without ever having to deal with God. It's a game. If it's got nothing to do with how to live in the Light or who the Light is, it's just a game.

I know this is hard to believe. I know it goes against the grain. But I think that's the main problem -- we're following grain, instead of seeking Light.

Isn't that a good dividing line -- is this darkness or light? Jesus told us how this ends. No one knows the time and God wins!!! Why argue over how when we don't know how? Why not go for what we do know and what we need to know? Why not go for God himself, so we can see the war within our members and the members?

We see Light. We can't see in darkness.

nah its never been like that even the disciples argued among themselves in the bible............. barbabas and paul if i remember right also in acts 15.......... but i dont think it will be boring in the new heaven and earth because we will have spiritual bodies so we dont have any carnality like fighting and fussin anymore u see.....
You know what the apostles argued about? How to best follow the Lord.

I've got no problems with arguing. (I'd be a hypocrite if I did. lol) I got problems with frivolous amusement when we need the Light.

This isn't an Us and Them post. This is a reminder we all need. The war is in our members. Our members. Our bodies. We fight in ourselves between the darkness and the light. And it is also in the members, (of this site, of the church), as in if anything is something other than deepening into the relationship with the Lord, it is wasted space in this forum. The war is in us and outside of us, but it should not be between us, UNLESS it is "how best to follow the Lord."

This is a reminder to check our Light levels.

one of my all time favorite passages is

John 1King James Version (KJV)

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

I never get tired of reading that. and thinking about it. it's so beautiful and speaks to what you are saying
Compared to Gen. 1:1-5

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.4 And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

How about that? He always had a handle on light vs. darkness.

And why is that? He is the Light!

And for anyone who thinks that light he proclaimed on that first day was the sun, check out Day Four! That's when he created the sun and moon.

He is the Light. We're supposed to be the Day.

I think it's good to discuss "theology" especially eschatology, otherwise I'd still be a blasted, deluded futurist..
So what is the benefit of discussing eschatology for hours on end?

without all the drama and arguing this forum would be dull and boring............... this is more entertaining
So, entertainment is more important than learning and growth?

Matt 6.22-23-

[SUP]22 [/SUP]“The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. [SUP]23 [/SUP]But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

What's the benefit of discussing the benefits in discussing eschatology for hours on end?

Sorry, not going to let this get sidetracked.

You seem to be trying to get a side conversation going while ignoring the OP.

Right: Darkness or Light.

Exactly what I'm saying. Time to choose sides. And remember, the battle is within.

You came here for Dr. White, but you got Charles Spurgeon.

That's a win for the Reformed Baptists ;)

I know, I got excited too. James White rox my sox.

Good word! I must confess though that I thought this thread would be about James White's program. ;)

I thought all who have been given THE GIFT of GOD came here to simply profess THE GIFT of GOD?
I thought that this is what we were called to

I didn't even know that we are here just professing our "wisdom"

Thar really isn't very "wise"

and it already shows that we don't know and understand THIS GREAT SALVATION as we should and are already indeed being carnal

Yep. It's gonna be great!!!

Revelation 22:

1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

This is a blackout-free zone! And the only way that happens is when we fill it with the Light!
1 John 1:

5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
