would you like a forum where people just posted cool bible verses and liked each other posts and all posts would be "amen". i was reading the thread with zen going bonkers and i think it was hilarious and fun, i also had a good conversation with dcontroversal on the not of works thread which hopefully continues...... the key is not to take it seriously and u will never get sad about some nobody on the intenret. the same trick works in real life but its more difficult the pull off because there is no ignore button lol

I thought all who have been given THE GIFT of GOD came here to simply profess THE GIFT of GOD?
I thought that this is what we were called to

I didn't even know that we are here just professing our "wisdom"

Thar really isn't very "wise"

and it already shows that we don't know and understand THIS GREAT SALVATION as we should and are already indeed being carnal
The realty of the Internet Is,the majority of people here don't know each other.

The reslirynofbthos forum is that this is a different type of forum for preaching the WORD and you have no idea the amount of baby ears listening in to the meaty discussions who can't hear the milk first

This is the dividing line for our entire lives.

Skip all the "iron sharpens iron." Skip all the "I have to teach them." Skip eschatology, works v. grace, homosexuality, righteousness, tithing, Sabbath, "I've got to fix them in the name of the Lord." Skip all the excuses endlessly parading on this forum to talk about God without worrying about listening to God. This is the dividing line!

So, what are we going to do about that dividing line? Because it comes in two ways.
1. Is the Light winning the battle for my life or am I letting the darkness lead?
2. Am I trusting the Light in another person, or am I following the darkness of the other?

Just because we say we're Christian, doesn't mean we are. Just because we argue some point about the Bible does not mean we're following the Light. We are capable of following the darkness even still.

WWJD? Did Jesus spend his time arguing grace versus works? Did he spend his time arguing over how the world would end? Did he spend his time arguing the question of homosexuality? Did he spend his time arguing creationism over evolution? Did he spend his time arguing reformed versus Wesleyism? Did he spend his time arguing Phariseeism? What does Jesus do?

Jesus did argue against Pharisees and their practice so that christianity doesn't mimic them.

Matthew 23:1
Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,[SUP] 2 [/SUP]Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:[SUP] 3 [/SUP]All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.[SUP] 4 [/SUP]For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.[SUP] 5 [/SUP]But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,[SUP] 6 [/SUP]And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,[SUP] 7 [/SUP]And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.[SUP] 8 [/SUP]But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. 9And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. 10Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. 11But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. [SUP]12 [/SUP]And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. 13But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

I can see some of this mimicked in catholicism, Do you?

At any rate, Jesus did speak of darkness so that we may know what darkness is by His words.

Ephesians 5:
[SUP]8 [/SUP]For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:[SUP] 9 [/SUP](For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)[SUP] 10 [/SUP]Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.[SUP] 11 [/SUP]And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.[SUP] 12 [/SUP]For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.[SUP] 13 [/SUP]But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.[SUP] 14 [/SUP]Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.[SUP]15 [/SUP]See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

He had one focus! The Light and the glory of that Light!

So how about giving up on arguing anything and come to the Light? Within our members. And within the members!

Even if you are on the winning side of your argument, but there is no light, it is merely the brass ring on a merry-go-round! It's never time to seek the brass ring. It is always time to seek the Light!

If you're here for frivolous amusement, get out! This is a place to learn about the Light and enjoy the Light with others seeking the Light. Not a place to foster the darkness!

This is a blackout-free zone! And the only way that happens is when we fill it with the Light!
May I ask you what you are doing that cannot be seen as doing the same thing?

How do you pass your own standard of judgment, because I do not see how you can?

And when you said this;

Just because we say we're Christian, doesn't mean we are. Just because we argue some point about the Bible does not mean we're following the Light. We are capable of following the darkness even still.

You just led every one into darkness, including yourself for trying to correct others, and thus we are not all christians by that harsh judgment which you have given.

Sister, I know that the infighting is wearisome and can be depressing and even antagonizing you, but you have to see that by taking one side of any issue, you are seeking the good of others in Christ by exposing the works of darkness by the light of His words.

It would be nice to just settle on the good things and only focus on the Light, but meanwhile... others can do that and still walk in darkness because no one bothered to tell them that was darkness they were walking in by His words.

Indeed, some thinks fornication is just another word for prostitution, and not about the sin of having sex before marriage. How can you focus on the light with that fellow believer and never talked about that wherein the believer will find himself or herself left behind because no one who practices such things shall inherit the kingdom of Heaven. Thus the need for reproof and repentance; not for salvation, but to be walking in the light as He did by the light of His words.

Good for you.....more bloviated opinion.....and a non-starter.....
18,650 posts! 18,650 POSTS! If that's not "I am so very important, and what's this got to do with God again" drivel, what is?

The Lord of the Rings
was shorter!

War and Peace was shorter!

You're headed towards Remembrance of Things Past for sheer numbers.

You gave up on it being about God so long ago, you're still digging your heels in to prove whatever your "contending" for is important. Do you even remember what that was? And, if you do, what's taking you so frigging long to get the point across?

The thing you have in common with all those writers is... FICTION! The thing you don't have in common? A point!

Two types of people are going to that thread now. The ones curious on what y'all are still babbling about, and the ones who like to argue endless for amusement.

Are you even aware you're supposed to have light in you? "Controversal" is the key to your game, not God.

Nonstarter? That's a compliment coming from you. You've got no idea when to quit once you start. Probably because the darkness hides the view.

Just that we should ALL keep our eyes on JESUS...the author (foundation) and finisher (head) of our faith and not to "go out" from HIM

Some might not understand that "growing up into the HEAD" also means not to "progress above the HEAD"

Oh, Lynn...this is not worthy of you to post like this.

You are judging and judging wrongly. Dcon has made thread about the very foundation of our salvation which is the Work of Jesus and not of our own self righteousness.

Do you realize how many Christians do not know the truth of this? Our temple will not be built strong without the foundation right, for our works are but sand. The rock is only Him.

Then on the Rock...we hear what saith the Lord...

What rule did you feel I need to be reminded of?

in fact what cc rule and etiquette do you feel we must be mindful of when preaching THE truth of THE GOSPEL?

DC had a generalized good point. But considering that wasn't the first post in his series, and that it was a series that started as a taunt last winter, no. Honestly? There was no light. It was contention built on contention. Is anyone learning anything from it? If Christians didn't know it then, they didn't learn it by that either.

Is DC the only one who does that? Nope. But he was the first to dig into "but I'm the Man, man! So I'll do whatever I want." (Also started on another post, although he didn't start that one.)

And now the others are filing in to say the same thing.

The Rock is Jesus. Hard to believe that when you read BDF's posts.

Jesus was clear that He didn't came to earth to bring us peace. He was here to divide the sheep and the goats.

So the divide is Jesus, the Bible also teach us to tell people the truth and if they don't accept it turn away and dust your feed. How many of us is prepared to do that. We always want to convert and have the last say (I am SO guilty of this :( ).

And then the little gem, the Bible teach us that if your brother/sister have a quarrel with you to go to your brother/sister and make peace. Not wait for your brother to come to you. You must go and be the peacemaker. Who does the Bible teach us will see the Kingdom of Heaven? The peacemakers :)

God bless friends

God, be merciful on me, a sinner.

I'm sorry I added to the darkness. I will press on to the light.
