I remember that...
I think the idea behind that was -- if you had the ability to 'kick', you might be too tempted to "play with" members - since they could go back into the chat rooms after being 'kicked' -- whereas, a complete ban from the chat rooms would require a serious-enough reason to invoke it - so as to alleviate such a temptation.

I know in the past, and I doubt anything has changed, that there were so many superfluous reports that the majority were ignored after reading. Mods spend more time reading invalid reports than dealing with real problems in the forums. Or so it seems.
Thank you for your concern. I am currently very happily married but the years before that were often very lonely and under extremely difficult circumstances. I felt very isolated and alone but God was always by my side.
While that was thought to be the best idea, it actually backfired.
For example, many of the women wouldn't ban when necessary..... they would run all over the forums to find a mod to do what they didn't have the nerve to do.
I remember a few times that there were three of us in the BDR when trouble would break out, & the other two would do nothing but run for a mod. I'm talking about cussing & filthy talking, which is an automatic ban. The offender usually already zipped thru the rooms making sure no mods were there before acting up, so I just banned them on the spot.
The only thing that would upset me was some of them would beg the admins for mercy, saying they were just upset, or they were misunderstood, & the admins would let them back on.
Thru that year or two I did that, I actually banned a couple of troublemakers twice. Both were women.

Lots of reasons for a marriage to go wrong, a lot harder to make it go right. Ive learned a whole lot about myself I didn't want to know since Ive gotten married. Im blessed to have a patient and understanding hubby.

(BTW, I really know why I shouldn't be. And I was a mod on AOL chat way back when. Not ever again, even for $1 million. Possibility of a short stint for a billion, but not a million. I'd rather be a honey dipper!)

Someone will come in the forums and say something like "i can help with your love life with this special potion." Then they put 20 numbers after it and have threads on every forum. Very annoying.
