I appreciate your whole attitude here, you are very civil, honest, and asking legitimate question's, all very good from my point of view. I do have a question though, what is it you know makes you a Christian? What is it that makes any of us a Christian? Simply saying it? If I say "I know I'm saved", does that mean I am? If I repeat certain words after the pastor and he declares me saved, does that mean I am. I am asking these questions because I thought I was saved for a long time, honestly loved the idea of Jesus, and would have been offended by anyone that questioned it, but I knew Him not. I didn't feel He wanted me to quit smoking weed, or quit watching porn, or stop neglecting to spend more time with my boys. I didn't feel I needed to change at all. That was not being saved and if it really was then what would the point be, and what power is that? I now know He does have GREAT power and making us all new is exactly what He does when we are saved.

I know these words may seem very offensive to you, and how dare I question your salvation. That's not what I am doing, and I know that salvation is between the person and God, the only thing that stuck out to me was saying you didn't feel like He wanted you to change. When you're saved you DO change, and you very well may have, I don't know, but I do know we were created for a man and woman to leave their parents and be joined for life. That's His design and everything else leads to trouble. Not just homosexuality, but fornication, adultery, polygamy, etc, etc.. His design is good, our ideas of what's right are normally not.

I have no idea what it's like to be attracted to the same sex, but I can assure you I've had MUCH greater sin than that so I'm not looking down my nose at you. It's just you seem pretty clear on how you feel about God and being a Christian and felt sharing this may bring His name glory, and hopefully He can use my feeble words to draw you closer, again not saying your not closer, but we can always grow closer. I would honestly love to hear your view on what makes us Christian and how you were reborn. I would also share with you how He opened my eye's and pulled me in as well if you're curious. Anyway welcome to CC.

I'm sure you know that answer is complicated. However, I did change, and there are things that still need to change. I was very abrasive and argumentative before meeting Christ, I was easily annoyed and over defensive. I still struggle with these and more, but knowing God is helping my life beyond words. I can't prove to you that I'm saved, or Christian, but I know I am.

Protip, be careful PMing people you don't know :)
(For all I know this person could be as kind and honest as the day is long, but often members who immediately ask you to PM them have a trick up their sleeve)

No... The world will call you hateful and judgemental... but the world loves its own.

We are: your will be done Heavenly Father and they are: do what you will.

If you believe the serpent and eat fruit from that tree believing you will not die... you are of the world and have not repented.

We judge not but judgement will come and for a Royal pardon we must Repent.

I know you can't "prove" you are saved to me the same way I can't prove it to you. I know my comment was strait to the point and very direct, but I was honestly asking those questions, and honestly sharing my experience's dealing with the same type thing in my own life. I also understand I have no clue how God is working in you the same way you don't know how He is in me, but the way it sounded to me was that you were saying that God was "cool" with homosexuality, at least in your case, and the bible may not clearly teach otherwise. I could be wrong about that, but that was how I perceived your words. I can agree that He may have just not started working on that issue in and with you just yet, but what I can't agree with at all is that it's okay or "isn't that big a deal" to Him. I know there are things I do that He is still working on, and am sure there are issues I'm not even aware of yet that He will point out later to work on, but regardless of how "I feel" about any of these issues wrong is wrong and right is right. God is perfect and my feelings have no baring at all of what He created good, and what goes against that being wrong. I would just be very careful trying to force your feelings of what God made good or bad into the category you feel they should be in, or thing God makes acceptations to His ways for certain people.

That matter aside I was not in any way trying to attack you or say "you're not Christian", and truly hope I didn't come across that way. I appreciate you openness and honesty really, and I'm grateful for the chance to get to discuss things with you. I hope you have a good day, that we continue the conversation, maybe even answer some questions you have for me, and get to know each other better through this dialog.

It wasn't me. Yes my avatar has blue eyes and background, but I don't know who you are. Not sure if you're referring to me, just in case.

I know what the law says. But gay "marriage" isnt marriage.
The Bible never really mentions consensual gay relationships between those of proper age, so that's a bit hard to figure out. Modern Homosexuality vs homosexuality from biblical times is very, very different.

But according to the legal requirements of marriage, yes, it is marriage.

Marriage today also is very different than marriage back then, even Christians get legally married by the state for official marriage benefits, along with a Christian ceremony. Which also is very different from how they did it in the Bible.

When we mature as Christians we will get further and further away from the desires of our flesh. Homosexuality is not in Gods will for us. And neither is sex outside marriage. So the closer we get to God these desires begin to fall away. God plan was for marriage to be between a man and a women,Adam and Eve,this set up the foundation of the family. Even divorce wasn't in Gods plan, except for a cheating spouse. And God has His reasons for the limits He sets for sex. God has a better path for us to walk. And the closer we get to Him,the more we will lose our desire for wrong things and wrong thinking.

I follow the Bible strictly. Issue is I analyze it further than most, I read into deeply
Into translation of the text and the context of the text. I've gone deeper in another thread but basically every time homosexuality is mentioned it's either translated from a word that doesn't mean homosexual or it's a context thing.

For instance, in the English version Jesus condemns homosexuality.

If you study the actually meanings of the original words the verse is translated from, you find out the reason he condemned it was because people who followed fake gods would have public, homosexual sex.

I've never found an instance of consensual sex between two people of the same sex who are married and of proper age condemned, but that's just what I found. And hundreds of other Christian scholars found..

Whatever, you can have your opinion just understand you're not the only one with evidence to support your claim.
