But my kids are my world, and I love them so much!

Hey everyone, so I am a single mom of four kiddos. I have been married twice. My first husband was Russian and was very abusive in every way imaginable. We had to run from him with our lives. I married him young. I had never dated before him, and no one had ever explained domestic violence to me, so I thought it was normal. Two children later, I ran from him to save our lives.

Next, I married a man who seemed to be a strong Christian. He was an intern for a pastor, a worship leader, and knew the Word in and out. He said all the right things to fool everyone. I knew he had a past of meth use, but he had accepted Christ and had been sober for two years (so he claimed). Everyone seemed to approve of him, and he was kind to my kiddos, so we married. Six months into our marriage, I discovered he was a closet drinker. Then I discovered he started smoking pot, and eventually went back to meth. I tried to get him into five inpatient recovery programs and counseling during our nine years of marriage. Every time he made many promises to change. I supported the family...by this time we had four children in our home...while he "recovered". Then one night, he punched me repeatedly in the face and threw me into a bathroom on the floor, taking away my phone so I couldn't call for help. Because of my past experience with being abused, I had hid a back-up phone and had him arrested. When he was gone, my children started sharing stories about abuse they had suffered from him while I was at work, and CPS gave me an ultimatum: either he left or my kids would be taken. That was an easy choice for me. I took my children and left that state and that man.

To top it off, my three daughters have some physical disabilities and require a lot of care. My son is healthy.

Now here I am, five years later. I'm not afraid to be alone, and God is my strength and peace, but I feel like used goods; like no man will ever love me or my children. Like all hope of knowing a godly marriage is lost. I want to be content, and mostly I am, but there is this inner longing for someone who will actually love me. I almost get men running for the hills when they see I have four children. I'm a good mom, and I will never date anyone who can't accept that my children are a part of me...I just don't know if men like that exist anymore. :'(

I understand your longing. If a man loves you he will definitely accept your children also.

in your picture, you all look so beautiful and full of life - please believe that Jesus
has a particular-special life in store for you and all of yours little one...
just try and be patient and 'wait on The Lord', for you are His priority,
but we must learn to 'wait-on-listen and obey His Commands for us...
it takes a lot of practice, but He is all that is REAL in our lives when we serve Him
first and foremost...GBY...'hugs and prayers' sent...

Four kids, three with disabilities, one of those kids is in the hospital long-term, but you still have to take care of all your kids, the house, work, and everything else. If Mr. Right came along now, what would you be able to do about it anyway? Fit him in between 4:02-4:04 AM every day with an E in it? (Supposed to make you chuckle.)

No idea what your future will be, but I'm very glad you can't add dating to your very-full schedule right now.

God gives blessings to us. He will not withhold good things. Right now he sees you being single as a good thing. Trust in his sovereignty and will. He knows what is best for you. God bless you for being a great mother to your children!

That was a bit presumptuous. :) And one of my kids is not in the hospital long term. Being busy does not mean your heart is limited on the amount of love you have. I did date for awhile, and it actually was a very calming, happy time, although we both mutually agreed we were not compatible. I love meeting single dads because they understand: kids come first, and dating is a lovely addition. :)

You are a WONDERFUL mom. You are a fighter and have so much courage...it's a hard road to follow...but consider single parenting. Your children are blessed to have you in their lives. I"ve lived alone over 30 years...following a bad marriage and many unsuccessful dates. I put my children in God's hands and under His authority. No, life has not been perfect, but they are both born again Christians today. They both are married to beautiful caring spouses. It hurts in the time, but in the long run it was the best decision I made. BIblically, God will bring into your life a man...don't look on your own. I don't know the verses that cite this. If someone comes, pray about it long and hard before you enter into a relationship. Find a church, find support there...first and foremost...develop your relationship with God. I applaud YOU as a beautiful lady...strong and courageous. Your kids trust you...sounds like...develop those relationships to allow them to rely on you, and each other. Any man that would turn away a family like yours...would be a fool in any case. You don't need any more of those. In all respect and honor -student

Hi Hannah, nice name, you should be thankful I live in Canada, otherwise would ask you in marriage, just from reading what you wrote, just now. Careful what you ask for cause you might get it. Long distance relationship are difficult. Then again I should be sorry for such melancholy feelings and if you don't think a country block away should be able to block God's Love feel free to apprehend me or is that to reprimand me, either way it's Ok, How are you?

Hannah I see no blame on you, and the dim sigh I have has to be from God's eyes. We all have a second hand, and it's normal to have one, Jesus being the Right hand of God I could be His left hand at least my Last name Gaucher means left handed in French. This writhing was not premeditated it came from your name second hand hippie and flowed... So I need a slap on the cheek to wake up from a dream and see how well i will turn the other cheek for another. Wake me up before I'm fallen worse.

Dear Hannah, the Lord impressed me to let go, thought should mention in case, made you uncomfortable with love to the point of folly. May we be comforted that God's Love for us to the point of folly took our blame away. "The foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of the wise of this world." Hannah, when I had nothing, the Lord told me: be thankful for what you have, I ended up in tears and asked Him, Lord tell me what I have so I can be thankful for it? He said: You have a relationship with me. I suffered from loneliness and depression and its bearable, He suffers with us and to have fellowship in the sufferings of Christ is
our growing experience in Love. Lady De pleated tried to tell you that as well: making the most of our time in trouble whether married or single. This has been the hardest thing to learn, don't be discouraged.

SHH,

If you are a Christian, you are doing both yourself, your children, and your God a great disservice by making this kind of a statement. Any Christian man who is worth his salt will have absolutely no objection to making a mother and her four children a part of his family. So as the Lord said to one man "Let the dead bury their dead". What is past and done is finished, and should not affect your future, just as God forgives all your sins and buries your past.

So if you believe you need a husband and a father in your family, ask the Lord to provide one and believe that you are who God says you are -- a child of God, an heir of God, and a joint heir with Christ. Which means you will have to change your screen name into something more in line with that and trust God for the future.

What more do you want woman? The Lords love is perfect in our incompleteness.

Maybe he's telling you something.

I think a man could love you, but 4 kids might be a tad overwhelming for some of them. Getting married is a big and difficult decision, but top it off with becoming an instant father of 4 adds a ton of work and responsibility to the equation, and there's only a select few that are probably up for that. Another divorcee who lost custody of his own children might be your best hunting ground?

I don't know what to say as for the man situation.
But,
I do want to say, that your kiddos are very blessed to have such a caring and hardworking mother. The world needs more parents like you

Well, somewhere between your response and what I saw before this, there wasn't presumption -- just missed the significance of two words you wrote at the top of your post. "August 2013." Sorry 'bout that. I didn't realize your last post, (one written shortly before you wrote this one), was from something that happened four years ago. I thought it was happening now.

It is no disservice to God, or anyone, to be honest about how you feel. It is a disservice to God to attempt to lie to Him, and yourself, in order to maintain some front of psuedo-spirituality. You are speaking religion, not God.
Neither is it necessary for her to change her screen name. Scars can sometimes be great reminders of what God has pulled us from. This name may be her 'scar' one day.

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
Uh oh, someone better tell Jesus about his disservice to God for saying such a thing.

Oh no, more people affected by the way they have been treated! Quick, remove the entire book of Psalms as it shows people enduring suffering and anguishing over it!
Psalm 69
[SUP]19 [/SUP]You know of my shame, scorn, and disgrace.
You see all that my enemies are doing.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Their insults have broken my heart,
and I am in despair.
If only one person would show some pity;
if only one would turn and comfort me.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]But instead, they give me poison for food;
they offer me sour wine for my thirst.

Better remove the book of Job, too. Since he expressed his feelings, rather than hid behind a religious facade.

[SUP]3 [/SUP]“Let the day of my birth be erased,
and the night I was conceived.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Let that day be turned to darkness.
Let it be lost even to God on high,
and let no light shine on it.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Let the darkness and utter gloom claim that day for its own.
Let a black cloud overshadow it,
and let the darkness terrify it.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Let that night be blotted off the calendar,
never again to be counted among the days of the year,
never again to appear among the months.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Let that night be childless.
Let it have no joy.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Let those who are experts at cursing—
whose cursing could rouse Leviathan[SUP][a][/SUP]—
curse that day.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Let its morning stars remain dark.
Let it hope for light, but in vain;
may it never see the morning light.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Curse that day for failing to shut my mother’s womb,
for letting me be born to see all this trouble.

[SUP]11 [/SUP]“Why wasn’t I born dead?
Why didn’t I die as I came from the womb?
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Why was I laid on my mother’s lap?
Why did she nurse me at her breasts?
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Had I died at birth, I would now be at peace.
I would be asleep and at rest.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]I would rest with the world’s kings and prime ministers,
whose great buildings now lie in ruins.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]I would rest with princes, rich in gold,
whose palaces were filled with silver.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Why wasn’t I buried like a stillborn child,
like a baby who never lives to see the light?
[SUP]17 [/SUP]For in death the wicked cause no trouble,
and the weary are at rest.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Even captives are at ease in death,
with no guards to curse them.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]Rich and poor are both there,
and the slave is free from his master.

[SUP]20 [/SUP]“Oh, why give light to those in misery,
and life to those who are bitter?
[SUP]21 [/SUP]They long for death, and it won’t come.
They search for death more eagerly than for hidden treasure.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]They’re filled with joy when they finally die,
and rejoice when they find the grave.
[SUP]23 [/SUP]Why is life given to those with no future,
those God has surrounded with difficulties?
[SUP]24 [/SUP]I cannot eat for sighing;
my groans pour out like water.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]What I always feared has happened to me.
What I dreaded has come true.
[SUP]26 [/SUP]I have no peace, no quietness.
I have no rest; only trouble comes.”

ug,

Jesus said this for US, we know that God will never forsake us, but many just can't believe
this can be true...do you really think that Jesus thought this? it's just another Spiritual mystery
for us to un-ravel in our quest for Spiritual understanding -
God cannot forsake Himself...
