Hey Everyone,
Since the old thread has often been bumped, I figured it was time to make a new, modern version of this poll.
Sorry--no frills or extraordinarily corny jokes this time--just a few good old-fashioned demographics. For the sake of privacy, this poll is going to be anonymous (but still multiple choice in case you feel that more than one answer fits your situation.)
I'm always interested in people's individual situations and stories, and while we may all be single, each of our places has both unique challenges and achievements.
For example, as stated in the old thread, someone who's been single 6 months is most likely in a different place than someone who's been single 6 years.
And someone who is 46 and has been "single their whole life" is facing a very situation from someone who is 16 and has been single their entire life (which is why I've added a few new "categories" to this poll.)
Please don't let the poll act as a substitute for making a post. I always write polls with the hope that they will be a complement to a good discussion rather than replacing the conversation altogether.
Here are some questions to hopefully spark our discussion (these questions are merely ideas to get people talking--feel free to share anything that's on your mind.)
* What is your definition of "single"? Does this just mean you've never been married? If you are in a relationship, how does that work? ("I'm single but taken"... ?)
* Do you like being single? Why or why not?
* What are some things God has taught you during your time of being single?
Please give me a few minutes to write the poll. I always write the answers off the top of my head, so it takes me a while.
Thanks in advance for participating and sharing.
If you're single, you are definitely not alone. We (along with our heavenly Father) are all in this together. Hopefully, we can all support and help each other along on our journey.
(Marrieds, please don't feel excluded. I might not have any poll answers that fit your situation feel free to tell us about what your life was like when you were single, too, and maybe tell us a bit about how your life changed when you got married.)
