I believe this was Paul Washer of Texas that was the preacher in this video. He seems to be a ‘good’ preacher. ‘Examine Yourself’ is a sermon he preached on, that ‘scared’ a lot of his flock. Some were angry with him and even left. He uses two areas of scripture to know if you are in fellowship with Christ: 2 Corinthians 13:5 and I John Chapters 1 and 2. I would add in Galatians 5:22-23 to complete it.

Now on this clip here, it does not get into these verses. This is Paul’s main point of the other sermon I cited.

I hope you didn’t miss the other main point in this clip? Once truly saved then always truly saved based on using the scripture above. If once falsely saved then never truly saved-lost. That individual would not pass the examination.

This murderer in the clip incidentally could be in paradise today if his salvation was genuine with the spirit of truth within him, and if repentance in transition, out of the body was completed genuinely.

What if the murderer lived and was a genuine believer and genuinely repented of his very grievance sin…which one, paradise or the Hades of the unbelievers for him?

In Christ, Always

Aaannd who are these people we've never seen before?
I think the groups really are individuals who have an agenda of some sort... or people with an axe to grind.. maybe a bit of mental health issues thrown in to which we need to understand and maybe be a guardian for them.. but theres only so long you can be a guardian for those who are evil...

But all those good works are what's required to be saved. Are you looking for something more?

hate to burst your bubble, but they are no " groups " working together behind the scenes, ( at least I am not part of one).

this may come as a shock to you , but- some of us do not think we are sinless. some of us understand what rightly dividing the Words of truth mean, some of us have no agendas, some of us have o interest In telling others how to live their lives, some of us just believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and understand that the Gospel is not a behavior modification program.
You're RIGHT gb9.

You definitely are not sinless.
And what does Paul say about sinning?

Romans 13:8-14
Galatians 5:17-21
Ephesians 2:10
Ephesians 5:1.17
Philippians 4:8
Colossians 3:25
1 Thessalonians 4:1-12
1 Timothy 1:8-10
1 Timothy 4:16
Titus 2:14-15

sorry. no more time.
But there's plenty more.

PAUL DID NOT LIKE SIN.
It's a GOOD thing NOT TO LIKE SIN.

Some here make it seem as though it's OK to like sin.
Maybe they say this is not what they mean,

BUT

If you mock those who try not to sin,
It must CERTAINLY MEAN, that sin seems of no significance to you.

Your an accuser poison Stephen. You know that right?
I'll tell what I know..... I must be a large target to your little group, being how you shoot at me so much.

There are some other large targets in here as well. Just watch how they are surrounded.

I've known your group has tried to ban me for quite some time, always looking for me to say the right words.

Just like the lawyers watched Jesus.

I'm not that important, but apparently some warped minds think so.:)

i think those who try not to sin are commiting the unforgivable sin of works for salvation...

As I already explained to you in post #21663 - The word "if" here is not ean, an unfulfilled, hypothetical condition used with the subjunctive mode, presenting the possibility of a future realization, but ei with the indicative, having here the idea of "assuming that you continue in the faith." - Steadfast (firm) (1476) hedraios - Sermon Index

That is, continuance would show that the person's faith is firmly established in the hope of the gospel and they really HAVE BEEN reconciled. The form of this phrase in Greek (using the Greek particle ei and the indicative mood of the verb epimenō) indicates that Paul fully expects that the Colossian believers will continue in the faith; no doubt is expressed, yet what about "nominal" Christians mixed in with the group whose shallow, temporary belief withers away?

It's only natural that Paul would speak this way, for he is addressing groups of people who profess to be Christians, without being able to know the actual state of every person's heart. How can Paul avoid giving them false assurance here that they will be eternally saved when in fact they may not? Paul knows that faith which is firmly grounded and established in the gospel from the start will continue. Those who continue in the faith show thereby that they are genuine believers. But those who do not continue show that their shallow faith was not grounded in the gospel to begin with.

Good try MMD.

But it's the Word of God.

NOT a pretzel...

IF means IF

In any Language.

DONTCHA JUST LOVE THE GREEK?

Nobody here undersands it, so you could make it mean whatever you want it to...
ALMOST.
But no cigar.

END OF STORY.

There's no such thing as the unforgiveable sin of works for salvation.
Works keep us saved.
It's all over the New Testament for anyone who cares to read it properly.

IF you hold on to your faith, Jesus will be able to present you holy to the Father.

IF YOU HOLD ON TO YOUR FAITH.

Your faith should make you want to do everything Jesus taught.
THIS is what you are to hold on to. Jesus' teachings, by way of your faith.

Throughout our life as we go through sufferings, testings, and even provision and joys...if we continue grounded in our faith of the gospel...we will be presented at the jugdement seat of Christ holy, a life that was separated to Him, holding fast to the Head, without blame, and without reproof.

We endure temptations and trials as an overcomer...by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of His testimony. His work finished. This has to do with crowns. Rewards.

And we endure in faith and love. That will have great reward.

I don't want you banned either.
In the few times we have engaged I have had no issue at all and I hope you haven't.

And to be honest if people are laying traps to get people banned then it's abhorrent

I have no idea what constitutes a banning offence on this site and it's not something I hope I never come near and certainly something I would never entice anyone into.

Mind you have come close to banning myself a few times:cool:
