And it's true, Adam willfully followed his lovely wife into death. He is a type of Christ who took his bride's sin on himself, too, in order that he and his bride (us) could be together and not separated by death.
This take's bigotry to a whole new level...I have heard a lot of foolishness from fools, but this has got be the most flagrant abuse of scripture I have ever witnessed on this subject....

If it were true Adam would not have been punished

Anyone can teach a child the facts about Noah, and Abraham, etc. They aren't old enough to be taught the kinds of things the men in church leadership will teach them one day.

What we have lost grasp of in the modern church is the AUTHORITY that the pastor and elders once had over the lives of believers. Now, when a pastor or elder cheeses us off, we just go to another church. And forget about a pastor or elder actually exercising authority over a member of the church when they sin. That's a joke these days. But that's what God intended for them. We are the one's who have cast off the restraints and gone our own way into rebellion and rejection of sound doctrine.
Mary continued teaching Jesus until she looked up at him.....

I have learned from women who teach. The point is, they can not have authority over men. The authority the church knows nothing about now for the reason I posted above. The church is a joke.
Stop backpedaling..it reveals how duplicitous and double minded you really are...

There is no such Scriptural evidence. If a woman has such an issue, a husband, father, or brother should be the one to bring this up.

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. (1 Cor 14:34.35).
See, I was hoping to hear from the "no silence, no covering" people. It is their responsibility to prove that God wants women speaking up and not wearing a head covering of some kind (whatever you believe that to be ie: hair, scarf, etc.). That's how debate works. Each side should present it's own evidence for their own position. I have seen plenty from those for silence and coverings and i have seen the challenges against it from the natural man standpoint. I am more interested in what scripture has to say against women being silent and covered.

You know,
I've been raised to keep my mouth shut and not talk back under any circumstance, but man, the BDF and some people here really test that don't they?
Yeah, I feel you...that is why I am officially boycotting the BDF for an indefinite period of time. Now, I usually wouldn't bother reading, let alone posting in anything from that place once I see where that thread is from. This, however, is just too insane not to read, lol.

Now, if you excuse me, I'm going back to my boycott. See you around ;)

I'll just say that I don't think the Holy Spirit is who your friend thinks it is. And that the Holy Spirit I know made sure that the Bible was correct, and that said Holy Spirit doesn't just ripple and flow out of 20th century American women to gratify the black hole that is their egos, right after they finish a long session with the TV. I hope that makes sense.

And in fact, I don't think I've seen any real life prophets in this country in my whole life, though the Pentecostals thinks that every one of their churches are infested with them. And I've only met one guy who told me of what I believe to be an authentic vision. And despite my wife being better than other women I know...neither her nor the other great Christian women I have met have ever claimed to be prophets or demanded to instruct men and rise up in church to hear their own mouths run. But hey, what do I know. I'm just the "rump". And I don't mind being silent in church. Though I can be a bit noisy after dinner...

PHart,
It was good to quote that Scripture, since this is where it all begins. We are dealing with the doctrine of "headship" or authority within the home and within the local assembly. Just as God the Father is the authority over Christ (even though Jesus is God and equal to God), the husband is the authority over his wife (even though she is equal as a child of God).

And it is precisely because of headship that Paul says "for this cause ought the woman to have POWER (Greek exousia = authority) because of the angels". Obviously the woman's head covering is the symbol of the authority of her husband over her, and of Christ over the local church.

But why "because of the angels"? Because holy angels observe Christian meetings to view how they are in submission to Christ (or not). If a woman is submitted to the Lord, she will be delighted to wear a head covering during worship, to show her obedience and submission to Christ, and to her husband. The doctrine of headship is generally neglected, and perhaps that is why divorces have started to become common among Christians.
well golly gee there wall builder, lets take up a collection fer all those heathen womens in native lands who don't wear clothes at all, but need to cover their heads...

MattforJesus,

The worst part to me is not just that they do it, that they can't recognize that it is all about them gratifying their own personal desires, but they are mad that others won't do it. And they want to force others to agree and to participate. It is like Sodom, it is not enough to do it themselves, they will never feel comfortable unless they believe that they are inside of other's brains, forcing them to do as they want. No matter how much they want it, things are the way they are. The Bible is right, always has been always will be. Go against it and you are just dashing yourself against the rock. They will never be satisfied, they will never feel peace, and it is not because they are determined that the world follow God and do what's right, its because they can't make the world follow them and gratify their own personal desires. Base desires, like pride.

I go back to the beginning for me. I don't have the desire to speak in church. Why is that? If they said that the "rump" needs to be quiet in church, I don't mind. Who wants the responsibility of saying the right stuff all the time anyway? It is a dangerous burden. The Bible tells me to take my hat off. I don't mind. It feels respectful. I guess the feminists here will never get it. Maybe their minds cannot handle it, the curse is too strong for the weak vessels.
oh poor baby, would you like cookie and glass of milk?

Divorces are more common because of "men"? Maybe because of the men who are behind communism and Hollywood. But you know, it was communism's goal to destroy the family unit.
No sir, that would be homosexuality...keep your family destruction's straight, will ya?

That is fine Sir. You are welcome to think as you wish, as am I, and anyone else who wishes to.
I'm sorry you have a problem with women nowadays. I have a problem with men nowadays lol.
I am glad you have your beliefs. We will know what is right and true when the time come.

I have no reason to believe you are qualified to teach anyone. Are you not on the left? Don't you disagree with the apostle Paul and/or mince his words? If so, you're not with me. I am the "rump" on a DIFFERENT body.
Well at lest you know your are a rump...some go their entire life without ever getting that revelation....

There is a left-right spectrum in religion. Far right (where I am) accepts the Bible as it says, with no regard for cultural norms or modern movements. If I say no women preachers, women cover their heads in church and keep silent, no divorce and remarriage, etc..then that is RIGHT of those who disagree on those subjects. Liberal on one side of the spectrum, fundamentalist on the other. In the middle are those who would call themselves moderates.
