" Todd really blew it, but he didn't kill anyone like King David.." (Bill Johnson) :)

And because God forgave we have some of the greatest psalms of all time.

Hey all if you have the time, check out this message/update on Todd Bentley and God's passion for restoration in the midst of not lowering the standards.

Even if you don't know the situation, listen to one of the great father's of the church today, share a real 'make sense' message.

Come ready to be challenged on what you believe!

Here's a better link on Todd Bentley, pointing out all of his heresies and false prophecies.

Yeah bud, of course you're welcome to your opinion of Todd etc...

But I think you're missing the point of the link..

can I just encourage you to remember Isaiah 61 ? It's so easy to miss the call of the church, and the heart of Jesus ministry.

"....He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners
..... to comfort all who mourn...and provide for those who grieve in Zion...to bestow on them a crown of beauty...instead of ashes... the oil of gladness...instead of mourning... and a garment of praise.. instead of a spirit of despair...They will be called oaks of righteousness...a planting of the LORDfor the display of his splendor.

They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations...

Remember... it's really easy for us to throw stones and judge things we're not personally invested in, and God invested in Todd... the revival still carries the fruit of countless lives changed.

Baptistrw,

May we always be reminded as to who God has called and for what purpose. The following passage is inspired by God and crystal clear. If God had chosen otherwise, most of us would have been left out. I don't know where you fit in this group, but I fit in. That is why the grace of God is so important. It is a good thing that the heart be established in grace (Heb 13:9). Do you see your calling?

1Cor 1:26-31 'For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord'.

Miah, I am personally connected to someone who was under Freshfires authority before it disbanded & was renamed. I'm definitely concerned after listening. Did you listen? I didnt want to hear what I did. Did you find as I did that it had the ring of truth as much as I didnt want to hear this?? I'm very worried about his spiritual welfare and think there is cause to be.

Even though I'm pentecostal myself, the whole thing about Todd disturbed me. This is something else.

Even if Todd was exceptionally gifted by God ,fair enough about men of God being fallible, but you don't give a teenager the keys to a Ferrari. As much Todd's overseers fault as his own IMO. He had marriage problems which he knew about and I'm sure they did too. He was in a relationship with another woman whilst being married to his wife, while this revival was going on. I just think it's ironic that the revivalist needed reviving himself. Doctor, heal thyself.

Fair enough about men of God being fallible. But what upset me was the way in which Todd's supporters defended him. First they claim things like it wasn't real adultery, only emotional adultery. Then they laid blame on his wife. The stuff came out later , turns out Todd had been a bad boy. They covered up the truth basically.

Now to his teachings. Except for the parts about believing in Jesus, most of it was gobble-de-gook I'm afraid. His preaching on angels and all this. Not to mention some of his buddies like Patricia King coming to his defense blaming his critics "negative words" on Todd's marriage breakup, and saying how it turned some spiritual portals clockwise instead of anti clockwise. All gobble-de-gook.

Kicking or punching people to heal them? I know it was a feature of Lake's ministry at times. (or was it someone else). But I still think it is totally unnecessary. Benny Hinn's suit coat waving is far better than that.

Not to mention the daily running costs of this revival that could have evangelised a whole small asian/ south east asian country.

The most disturbing thing is his sodomizing of a 7 year old boy when he was 14. Sick stuff.

Actually I'm still waiting for the revival to come here. I think Todd had to cancel a lot of his travel plans which left many a bit disapointed. The revival seemed to finish early. Isn't it funny how a revival seems to stop when the main revivalist leaves?

And yet people told me "it wasn't about Todd". If it wasn't about Todd, why did the revival somehow fizzle out and you don't hear of it anymore?

I asked them why I needed Todd's annointing, what's wrong with the one God gave me? Why did God need to send Todd all the way over here and couldn't just start a revival with someone else or no one at all?

As far as I'm concerned, all this revival did was confirm to me to be suspicious of revivals and bald preachers with tattoos.

YEAH... Lakeland ACTUALLY is still an awesome place to be.. and although things obviously changed after Todd's tragic situation... the place continues to be an awesome place where God is touching many.. I believe it returned back to the church it started in and in many ways was more intense than ever.

Even before he was saved it still disqualifies him from the ministry.
Although I'm tempted to throw scriptures at you of great men in the bible who had pretty shoddy lives before they were saved.. actually I can't think of many that did such bad things... I agree with you. I think anyone who may have a tendency for that sort of thing, shouldn't be a pastor.

Honestly I don't even think he's saved, but that's an entirely different story.
I haven't looked into that myself, just assumed he was.

So what are you saying is , the revival, which by definition is supposed to revive and spread outwards, returned back to its home base... so it's not really a revival anymore. More of an aftermath of a revival.

A minister must be blameless (Titus 1:6-7), a sodomy conviction is far from blameless.

Listen to that sermon I posted.

Using David as an example doesn't apply, that wasn't the church age nor was he a prophet.
